Hej, merry xmas!

As all topics with the same question are closed i’ll go on and start a new one.

writing this from Europe (Sweden), and on Sonos Sweden they are currently selling a refurbished gen 2 Sub for around 600€.

2 questions that are left unanswered

1: the difference between gen 2 and 3 are only internal components like RAM? No difference in sound?

2: with a refurbished product you don’t have to be afraid in terms of quality?

Pretty big price difference between a new gen 3 which goes for 800€,. Should you invest in the gen 2 refurbished, which you can upgrade in the future with a gen 3 if you want, or go for the gen 3 instead?

The Gen 2 and Gen 3 Subs will sound the same. The only differences are updated internals and minor cosmetic differences (mainly an updated Join button).

Certified Refurbished Sonos products are pretty much restored to like new condition and have the same return policy and warranty as a new Sonos product. If you are on a limited budget, it is safe to go with the Gen 2.

NOTE: If you ever want to add two Subs to a Sonos home theater setup, one Sub has to be a Gen 3.
