What optical cables would people recommend as I need to replace the one come with the sonos.

Moving from the US back to Australia. Have 6 Sonos devices. can I buy suitable power cables for AU 240v power? I know that the devices are dual power.

where can I order a European (Type C, 2 pin) power cable for Sonos Play:1 (black)

I currently have a 20+ year old system, including 2 Bose Accoustimass 5 speakers wired into the ceiling and subwoofer in one room and a pair of wired speakers in another, with an receiver and CD player. I'd like to wirelessly stream music but don't want to rip out my ceiling speakers, but can upgrade the rest of the system. I don't know anything about this stuff - is there a set up that can work with the current Bose?

TV and DVD Players compatible with my Playbar. SONY BDPS6700 DVD PLAYER: Converts DTS and everything else I've tested to Dolby Digital 5.1 BUT remember not all TV'S will pass it through. The DVD player also has it's own audio delay setting. VIZIO E55-E2: Will take in Dolby Digital 5.1 from all sources, including a Samsung and Sony DVD players I tested, and pass it to the PlayBar. The VIZIO can also adjust the audio delay but it is global, not per channel like the LG below. SONY XBR55X800E: Will take in Dolby Digital 5.1 from all sources, including DVD players, and pass it to the PlayBar. BUT it does not have an audio delay feature, and so the audio on the play bar was very delayed compared to the TV. If all your devices can adjust the delay than this may not be an issue. LG 55UJ6300: Will take in Dolby Digital 5.1 passed from some sources like my Fire TV, but for some reason not from two different DVD Players (Samsung and Sony) that worked fine on the Vizio a

Hi I have a full wireless sonos system at home using my wifi. I also have a wireless waterproof speaker that I'd like to have outside on the terrace. Can this be added to my sonos system without using cables? I have purchased a sonos zp90 to use my sonos system with a tv, but I don't know if this also can be used to add a non-sonos speaker without using cables?

I am new to Sonos but about to buy. I have read a lot but don't know the technology or the Sonos App so would appreciate clarifying the following. I plan to get a Playbase for TV. I am also thinking 2 Play:1 or 2 Play :3. These would be used either as part of a 5.1 setting, or in kitchen and dining room when we have guests or long dinners. Is it easy to move the speakers from being stereo in surround sound setting to single speakers in different rooms? Or does it require major reconfiguration each time they move? We are liable to end up with them in 1 place and maybe extend the system, but want to start with something that is viable for both configurations and see how that goes. The reason for Play:3 vs Play:1 is thinking they could be used as individual speakers. Appreciate any feedback. Thanks, Jim

Which product would you recommend? I'm sure this has been asked plenty of times before but is there a way to setup a pair of these with a smart tv or will there be a way in the future potentially with tech advancements (airplay)? I'd love to stereo pair and wall mount them next to my TV. It's mind boggling how there isn't a line in on all their products as I'm sure plenty of ppl are looking to do the same as me. $700 for a playbase is just out of my budget.

We bought a house with a Denon receiver and 5 BOSE Built-INvisible amplifiers - we're familiar with the SONOS world and I kept our CONNECT:AMP because I thought it may be helpful here... I'm wondering if I can connect 5 Connects or Connect:AMPs to these wired speakers and rock and roll, there are 14 different sets of BOSE speakers running off of individual volume knobs in various rooms and outdoor spaces... I would hire a specialist, but we live in a small place and there is no one like that for over 100 miles. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi all, We are about to build a new house and will be finalizing the electrical plan soon. I currently only have a Play 1 but am planning to add to it over the next few months and want to ensure I consider what wiring is required for the house build. I can't just go out and buy everything as am on a budget so wondering if you could advise what sort of a setup I could achieve for under $1000. I'm building a double storey house, living downstairs with open plan and outdoor entertaining area with pool. The downstairs living area is the main area I'm interested in linking with Sonos. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would like something that sounds good, but won't break the bank! 2 Speakers for the kitchen 1 speaker for the family bathroom 1 speaker for the ensuite 1 speaker for the dressing room Each speaker will be stereo and 8 ohms. so my Integra surround sound receiver just died. We'd like to purchase a Sonos system that I could use my existing surround sound speakers for tv watching as well as stream spotify. Additionally, we'd like to add wireless sonos speakers to our outside patio, master bedroom and kitchen. My question is can I avoid having to purchase a receiver and still use my existing 5.1 speaker system? We love what Sonos has to offer, but just not sure what to do. Any help for this rookie is appreciated.

I have a 1st gen play 5 & wondered if it is worth adding two play 1's as a stereo pair?

Hi Sonos Experts, We are extending our home and thought while we were at it, we would put in some ceiling speakers. The set up is as follows: Family Bathroom - 1 speaker Gym/Study Room - 1 speaker Dressing Room - 1 speaker Ensuite - 1 speaker Kitchen - 2 speakers. I have purchased 2 Connect Amps, but have not yet bought the ceiling speakers. I wanted to connect the top 4 speakers to one amp and the kitchen speakers to the other amp. I am aware that the music will play the same on all speakers connected to the same amp. My question is....Can this be done? I went into Richer Sounds and the chap there said that I cannot have 4 speakers on one amp....although I thought I could. He said I would need another machine and started talking about parallel....and then I was lost!!! What do you guys say??? Thank you very much for reading 🙂

hello everyone. let me start my saying I LOVE SONOS!! as with most here, my addiction started with small and now it's grown considerably. i'm looking to completely replace a very old Bose 5.1 HT system. my issue is i'm having a heck of a time deciding between the playbar and playbase (my physical setup will accommodate both). i already have the Sonos sub and (2) play:3 for rears. all the salespeople have recommended the playbar, but i'm seeing great reviews for the playbase. i know i can't go wrong with either, but which will give me the best experience if i'll be listening to music 70% of the time and movies 30%? thanks in advance

My current setup is a 5.1 with a playbase, sub and two Sonos Ones in my living room. I've decided to add Sonos to a couple of other rooms. One room is an office, the other is my bedroom. I thought about getting two more Sonos Ones, but then considered maybe just moving the current Sonos Ones to those two rooms and purchasing two Play 3s to use as surrounds and music in the living room. Any thoughts on the sound quality of the Play 3s vs the Ones and whether it is worth the additional cost?

Hi guys, I was wondering whether you could let’s me know if it would be possible to connect my playbase to a Vinyl player. I’m looking to buy a vinyl player, but I know that the playbase only connects via WiFi not Bluetooth. Any advice would be appreciated. Best, Edouard

Using Sonos play bar with two Play 1s. Instead of investing in a Sonos sub, I was wondering if the bass on a new Play 5 would do the trick.

I have used moved into a new house, and the developers have had ceiling speakers installed in every room but haven't connected them to anything. We just have the wires in our under stairs cupboard. I am unsure on what kit I need to buy in order to make them work- people keep telling me a 'sonos system' but I imagine there are other connecting things I need to buy too?

Hey everyone, So i have a play:1 right now and i'm looking at exchanging it for the sonos one. Question: in trying to make my house more smart connected i'm looking at getting a nest or other smart thermostat, maybe some Philips hue bulbs.. We're an Apple house so homekit compatibility would be nice. Will the sonos one work with all this? or will i need to get the homepod, or google home?? I also read that play:1 and sonos one can't be synced to play in stereo? What other info am i missing here?? Thanks

Hi guys, I already own a Play 3 and I'm really happy with it. Now I want to put a nice Audio system into my garage. It's quite big, 30x30 meters. I'm really not sure what to buy. The only thing I'm sure about is the Subwoofer. Is it recommendable to only use the same models in one room? Or can I for example put one Play5 and two Play1? I was planning to get 4 Play1's (one for each corner) but I'm not sure if they will be strong enough for the big room. It's a garage but also partly an entertainment room, so there will be a lot of music. I do not use the boxes for watching movies or something like that. So I don't need surround sound, just music in the whole room. Are there any recommendations on room sizes and what box to get? I find it really hard to decide whether to put two Play1's or one Play3... I guess I will put a CAT5 cable to one box and connect the other ones via Wi-Fi. Or is it recommendable to control all of them via cable if possible? Thanks in advance

Looking for a birthday present for my husband. Want to get started on a Sonos system in the house. We have a very open concept house. Living room, dining and kitchen all open to one another. Ethernet cable only comes in by tv in living room. WiFi throughout but we have century link dsl internet which isn’t amazing all the time. One bedroom on this floor we’d also like sound in. (Potentially one bathroom as well.) **The components needed for this floor is what I’d like to start with.** Eventually we want to be able to add surround and speakers to our family room in the basement. (And speakers to our kids rooms so they can play their own music as they desire.) I’d also like to add a turntable down the road - but am open to either integrated with the sound system in the basement or with the first floor. What do I want to get started? We don’t have any dots/echos by an open to incorporating if that’s what I should do. How far away does the voice pick up w/the Sonos

All, I am doing up my whole house and need to lower the ceiling 5cm to create a service space for cat6/electric etc. I want to have Sonos in the bathroom, should I wire in a Play 3 (plus outside the bathroom, speaker inside) or have ceiling speakers and a connect:amp? I love the sound of the Play3 so wondering if 50mm deep ceiling speakers can compete and also wondering is there is any restriction/downside on having the Play3 in the bathroom? Thanks in advance.
