What to get

New to Sonos, not an audiophile at all but bought a vacation house and the smoking hot young girlfriend thinks bringing in some music would be a good idea. Love the concept of WiFi rather than bluetooth. Here are the areas I would likely want sound: - Living area: Large, open (including open to the kitchen) with a 65" flatscreen. Playbar and Playbase seem like logical choices. But, aforementioned smoking hot young girlfriend is very fussy about fit and finish. Wondering if a One or one of the Play models would be suitable for this room? - Master Bedroom: Any reason not to just put a One or a Play:1 in there and call it a victory? If the aforementioned smoking hot young girlfriend is in the bedroom listening and I am in the living area watching tv through Sonos can the units work independent of one and other? - Guest Bedroom: Screw 'em, gotta manage the budget! - Large patio area. The patio opens up from the living area. Wondering if with the doors open the sound from the li

I am looking for anyone who has heard a pair of play 5's vs Play play 1's + sub? Performance differences?

Good day Is there a way to activate Line-in (Sonos Connect) with Crestron Sonos module ? Thanks

The previous owner of my house did a decent job, 15 years ago, creating a 10-zone speaker system throughout the house. All the ceiling-embedded speakers in each room are wired into a set of Niles SSVC-6 speaker selectors in a closet, and then these selectors are wired into a Sony receiver. The receiver has it's input set to an FM receiver and set to a local radio station most of the time, and local volume control for each zone is controlled by a wall-mounted volume nob. So, i can walk into any room of the house and turn a knob and hear that one radio station. Changing the input requires me to go into the closet, and of course, all rooms get the same input. I'm looking to modernize and extend this system with Sonos components. I have a few goals: * extend the system into two areas that don't have speakers * add streaming sources such as Spotify * be able to control the input source from my phone * Try to clump my 10 existing zones into about 4 that should be able to have

The model turntable I just ordered from you...Does it definitely come with the preamp built in??? I see they have many different turntables. I know Technics need a preamp...The turntable you are selling must be the pro-ject essential III Phono Model...Please confirm this Thanks Bob

I currently have a play:5 (gen2) stereo pair in the living room (on either side of the TV on the mantle) that i use for music, but i also have a playbase in there (under said TV). I'm wondering if it might be worth adding a sub to the playbase and using the 5s elsewhere in the house. Obviously the sound will be different and the stereo separation would be lacking, so I guess I'm just looking for qualitative opinions. Has anyone tried both of these combinations? Thoughts? Thanks!

What would sond better for music please. A Playbar or 2 x Play 1s

I'm looking to buy a power cable with a UK-head for a Sonos Connect that is coming from the USA. Yes, I could go to a store I guess but would like to purchase one online. Could anyone in the know advise what 'type' of connector goes into the Sonos Connect? It seems to be that rounded 2-hole type. What is the technical name for it, so that I might order the right item? Many thanks!

Hi.. Is there a way to get noticed when sonos has some refurbished units? (Im from denmark) Or is it just luck?

I bought my first Sonos (Play:3) in November 2017 and love it. I’m hooked on Sonos. I’m looking to expand the system with another 2 or 3 speakers and would appreciate recommendations and/or if my plan sounds like a good one. Prior to buying the Play:3, the last time I bought quality speakers was in 1995 when I bought my Cerwin-Vega DX-7s, which I’m still rocking today in my home office. Since then I’ve only acquired a smattering of lower quality bookshelf or computer speakers, and a fairly cheap 9-year-old Onkyo HT-S3200 5.1 system I use with my TV. Needless to say, I’m loving the sound of the Play:3 and have been deliberating how to expand the system. The Play:3 does a great job filling the main living area of my house, but I’d like to take the sound to the next level. Below is a floor plan of my main level living area, which shows current placement of my existing Play:3 (marked in pink): https://www.dropbox.com/s/sxxheat55sjzbl2/floorplan-sonos-2018.png?dl=0 I ma

My Sonos system has suddenly started to drop out....not happy......I’ve spent a lot of money, relying on Sonos. Disappointed

I am currently in the process of building a new house. I own 4 Play:1's wanted to use them in 4 rooms throughout the house (Kitchen, Dining Room, Screened Porch, and Office). The builder is suggesting I purchase the On-Q /Legrand lyriQ™ Single Source 4 Zone Audio Distribution Hub and let them install Klipsch in-celing speakers (1650c) in those 4 rooms and use the Play:1's elsewhere. Is there a way to install or would anyone recommend installing Play:1's in the ceiling? Or should I consider the builder solution and purchase a Sonos Connect to plug into the distribution hub with in-celing speakrs? Thanks, -Matt

I'm going to hang a pair of outdoor speakers on my patio. A Connect:AMP would be the simple answer but I have a Connect that I'm not using right now. Rather than pay $500 for a Connect:AMP I plan to have my Connect feed an external amp which powers the speakers. Does that external amp need to be an integrated amp (with preamp) or just a power amp? I think just a power amp but want to be sure.

Thinking about buying a speaker, but wonder how far I can walk away with my phones for example when I stream music.

A friend has asked me to help him install some outdoor speakers for him. Sounds easy enough. The problem is he currently has a Samsung screen connected to a Polk Soundbar. The challenge is he would like to have the option of playing the same music inside on the soundbar at the same time it is playing outside on the patio. Currently he uses the bluetooth connection to play music from his phone on the sound bar but also may use one of the music channels from Comcast to play music on the Soundbar. My thinking is to purchase a Sonos Connect and also a Sonos Amp. The audio from the TV would go to the Sonos Connect via RCA. The Sonos Connect would go to the Soundbar via Optical cable and also go to the Sonos Amp via RCA. This would enable him to use the Sonos Connect to feed the soundbar and the Sonos Amp at the same time but also give him the option of just playing music either inside or outside independently. I guess he also would still be able to play music directly to the Soundba

Gents, I am new around this community, although I am using Sonos for about 8 months. I started with a Connect for the living room (to control the AV Receiver powered 7.1 system). Then I got another 2.1 + AV Receiver in the bedroom, which asked for another Connect, than Connect AMP for stereo speaker in the bathroom and another Connect AMP for a pair of B&W in the office area. When I got all these together I found a buzzing delay between living room and the other 3 rooms. But this is happening only when I play the audio from the TV through Line-In, NOT when I am using online radio or play music from my phone/cloud/any other digital straight source. Details for set-up of the living room system: the IPTV cable goes into the TV Receiver. Then, through a HDMI cable, both sound and video go to CBL/SAT input from the Denon AVR-X4100 A/V Receiver. The video signal goes out from the A/V Receiver to the TV through HDMI cable (ARC Monitor output from receiver and ARC input into TV). The TV is a

I want to get a Sonos 5.1 system for my living room. The room is fairly large - roughly 20' x 30'. I have a 75" TV and was planning to get the Playbar, Sub, and two rear speakers. Should I get the Play1 speaker pair or the Play3 speaker pair? The cost difference is small and not really an issue. Just looking for the best performance / sound. Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this.

I'd like to extend the sound from one room to the rest of my house with wireless speakers. What do I need to buy? I have a fairly new Denon Receiver which is connected to several wired speakers in one room. I'd like to option of same audio throughout or different in one room to the next (if that's possible -- i.e. TV in family room; music in living). I'm not technical and got suckered into the Denon to replace a very old Bose Lifestyle. One of my asks was easy scale, wirelessly to other rooms and we didn't quite get there. Can someone suggest? Do I need the CONNECT and speakers or just speakers?

The question has been asked about which router is best for Sonos. For the record the link below lists KNOWN network products that are incompatible or have a work-around with Sonos. The list is by no means conclusive because manufacturers change their hardware all the time. However, I suspect that by-enlarge the majority of networking gear is compatible with Sonos. https://sonos.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/42/kw/routers/session/L3RpbWUvMTUyMzM2MTk0MS9zaWQvZlUlN0VEVG5WRVFYYzV5Zlk3cjJGVE5HREZ0MExkOGdyNTZKRUZKaXhXZ0djRzdkWXYwRG5jaHVtVTEwMTBpVXFMYl9CUllmQ1ZJcG5icWYxUF9GUWFjYXJEbHI3enZzU0VqWEI4TzAlN0VDYlhBbEJGVVhkRiU3RXBMc0hRJTIxJTIx That said there are some basics regarding routers. This speaks mainly to Wi-Fi (wireless); as a wired connection is what is_wired via Ethernet. I’ll only skim the surface as this subject could get very long and drawn-out given all the variables to consider. For the record I use a dedicated Sonos Boost component with my setup. If your route

I currently have a Velodyne 12 inch sub SPL1200 II that I was thinking of using instead of a Sonos Sub. I would like to set up 2 more bookshelf speakers in my living room and was debating spending 1k on a Sonos Sub and play 1s or just re using my velodyne sub and Boston acoustic micro 90x by purchasing a connect amp at $500. The Velodyne brand new was about $2100 so I would like to use this. Any downside to adding these components to my existing Sonos environment or should I spend more $ and go with Sonos Sub and play 1s?

if i purchase Connect, can i stream content from my PC to sonos speakers in other parts of house?

I just given a SONOS Connect:AMP for music in my medium size living room and would appreciate your opinion about using Klipsch RP-150M or Definitive Tech D7 speakers with this? Your feedback would be appreciated. Thank you

What Sonos unit should I get without spending an arm and a leg for a shop that is rectangle, open, and about 1500 sq/ft?

Hey guys, I am quite new here, so I still can't find my way around. However, I would like to turn the additional guest room I have into a home theater. Do you guys have any suggestions? I don't know where to start. I am simply standing in front of the room the whole day, staring at it and simply no ideas come to mind. 😃

Hi Guys, I am new to the Sonos community and have yet to buy any products because of recent doubts caused by a visit to a well known retailer. I won't mention their name. I have a question/problem that may be solved by Sonos or may not. I currently have a Cambridge Audio system comprising Amp azur 550A, AM/FM/DAB Tuner azur 650T and Compact Disc player azur 550C which has 4 wired Mission speakers in two rooms (2 in each) which utilises the A and B options of the Amp. I am very happy with the system and had a DAB aerial fitted some years ago to make good use of the DAB radio. However there are wires everywhere and I would like to be able to use the system with wireless speakers. Having looked at the Sonos systems and a previous similar query I thought Sonos would be the answer but the unnamed retailer confused the hell out of me talking about ins and outs and loops. I am not knowledgeable about these things but thought that a Sonos Connect and a Sonos speaker (one to start
