What to get

Before i buy a move i want to know the price of a new battery.Seems that nobody know's. I've asked in differend shop's and they don't know.Who can help me.

With the May end of life for my Bridge support, I'm not sure whether I should buy a new Boost or if I can go without one. I'd like to remain on a separate network. I'm hoping for some advice. Thanks! 

Hi, How does TradeUp work for a CR200 Controller - essentially a product for which there is no (hardware) replacement? The TradeUp page allows me to check the box next to it and then “Click to receive your credit” (which I haven’t done yet, because I’m unsure about what I let myself in for). This doesn’t indicate that the recycle mode will be initiated. Does this mean I can claim 30% per controller that I own, but it won’t stop working? Can I then use the discount on any Sonos product? If I understand it correctly, then as long as I leave a legacy product (e.g. a CR200 controller) in the setup, none of my components will receive software updates, right? I guess I can’t use more than one TradeUp discount (30%) on a single new product? I don’t really need new products, but if I start adding the discounts for my controllers for the purchase of one item, I may “need” a new product ;-) Thanks….

I have two older ZP80 components that are eligible for recycle to get the current “Trade Up” 30% off credit. My question is - if I trade both of them, can the two 30% off credits be applied to purchase one new component, or do I have to purchase two new ones to apply 30% off to each? I already traded in one and I see 30% off applied to the item in the cart, but I see a “+” sign next to it as well which I am assuming means that if I trade up second ZP80 I would be able to apply both to one new component purchase:  Is my assumption that two 30% off credits can be applied when buying one component correct or not? Since trade up is not reversible, I don’t want to trade another one if I have to purchase two different components since I only need one. Please let me know. Thanks. 

When I bought my Sonos, it was the first one the store had sold other than the store owner’s. It was so new that they didn’t even charge me the full installation fee because they were learning how to set it up as they did it.   I have a ZP 100,. The CR controller died years ago. My Zone player is connected to my stereo and its speakers. I control it from my desk top I mac and Alexa. We listen to playlists, our music library and TuneIn radio .  Having this system become obsolete is going to be a bit traumatic for my 73-year old husband, so I want to, as easily as possible, duplicate what I have now.  What component do I need to buy to trade up?   Will I simply be able to disconnect my Zone player and plug in a new component and connect it to my router, or will I need to hire a techie, to figure it out.  Having your technology become obsolete before you do is a hassle.

I’m wondering if there is a list of features that I’m missing out on for new products vs the ZP100. Does anyone have a summary?I don’t really stream or use voice activation. Just play my music from a NAS.I do have to say that I’ve been SUPER impressed with the ongoing updates to the ZP100 in all the years I’ve owned them. In fact, it is the biggest rave that I tell everyone why they should get Sonos over other systems. So super KUDOS to Sonos for that. So yeah, I’m fine with upgrading. I’d like to continue to support Sonos as a business.

Dear all,   I recently purchase a pair of Sonos, and it was my entrance to Sonos system. My question is, since I have a Zeppelin air, how can I connect it into the new system. Which would be the best product. The Amp or the Port? Also, is there any advantage in connecting my new Sonos One to the AMP wirelessly?   Thanks a lot   Rui Freitas 

I have a new Sonos Amp and am setting it up with 2 passive Bose 451 exterior speakers and want to install a subwoofer as well. Most exterior subwoofers are passive and not powered, is this compatible with the new Sonos Amp???

Dear Sonosers, As an inexperienced user thinking about joining the Sonos family, I am trying to figure out, which device to get. My goal is to couple the Sonos system with my old Panasonic SA-PM22 hifi, in order to listen to CDs played by the hifi throughout the home on future Sonos speakers (most likely Symfonisk speakers, but this should not matter now, if I am not mistaken). However, my hifi has a bi-amp output, meaning 2x2 sockets for wire/cord output (bass) & 2 sockets for rca output (high&mid) (see pics attached). When looking at the Sonos Connect devices (which I believe should offer the solution to my question), I do not see any wire/cord input option, thus I believe, that connecting my hifi only with rca to Sonos Connect devices will leave me with half the sound (high&mid) transmitted to the speakers of the home.  My question: is there a solution to connecting my bi-amp hifi to the Sonos ecosystem? (I.e. what did I get wrong in the above?)  Please note, that hangin

Hi, I'm looking to get an AV receiver which I can connect my turntable, DVD player, game console, TV and a pair of non-Sonos speakers. I  enjoy having the airplay 2 and Sonos’ multiroom experience so I’m thinking to get a Sono’s Amp. However, it only has one line-in which is not handy to connect all my devices.  My questions: Can I use any receivers or it has to be a “work with Sonos” product if I get a Sono’s Port to make my speakers in the Sono’s ecosystem? If so, do you recommend any slimline receivers? I’ve found Pioneer VSX-S520 online but not sure if it works with Sonos. If I use Sonos Port with a supported receiver, do I need to switch sources on the receiver or it will pick up what’s active automatically?  Thank you. 

Hi there  just wondered if the play 5 22nd generation was been discontinued along with the sub    the reason i ask they are on offer at incredible prices and after  missing out on the play 3s when they were discontinued im a bit suspicious    have you heard anything that would support my suspicions or are they just a great deal   Many Thanks n 

Hi, I have a Sonos Connect that I hook up to my amp through the digital output.  I received an email from Sonos saying that I could “upgrade” to a Sonos Port with a 30% discount for the upgrade, plus they will be increasing the cost of the Port In January.  However, I can’t see any reason for me to upgrade.  If they had upgraded the digital out to pass through hi-res sources (e.g., 24/196 from Amazon HD), I would do it, but from everything I’ve read, it still is only passing 16/44.1.  Am I overlooking anything, or am I right in assessing there is no value in upgrading from a Connect to a Port?   ~Pat

I am interested in setting up a BEAM with 4 wired ceiling surround speakers. I understand I would need the AMP for the ceiling speakers and the BEAM would connect with the AMP. Has anyone done this before and can give feedback on the sound quality for both music and tv? Are there any drawbacks or concerns to this configuration? This is for a basement surround system, which I know the beam is only for small/med. rooms, but the ceiling height is only 7' so I am thinking anything more than this might be overkill?

What router (brand, model) to you recommend for optimal use with regard to SONOS?

From pure sound quality point, which would be better? Naim Qb (2nd Gen) vs. Kef LSX vs. Play 5 Stereo Paired. For the price, these are relatively similar range.  Both Qb 2 and Kef LSX have top class metacritic reviews.   Here I am purely interested in sound quality comparison when same source (non-Hires) are played.

I want to use it like a bluetooth speaker connected to my phone and my computer. I don't see any instruction for this - all I see is to connect it to Pandora or other streaming services. Can I use the speaker like a bluetooth speaker with my phone and computer?

Just wondering if the Sonos One SL without microphone is really better than Play 1 in terms of sound and functionality other than making the controls more aesthetic and being Airplay ready? Are there any real upgrades in performance for playing regular music. Play 1st are now on sale in many locations.  

Hello All,   I’m considering adding a Sonos to my existing system to add more sound to a back bedroom.  The existing system has newer Denon receiver, two floor speakers + center channel, Audio Technica PL-120 with preamp. Plus numerous other things connected to the receiver like TV, PS3, cable box, etc.  Definitely an old school traditional setup for the most part.   So the super basic question is...what do I need to add to get that single Sonos speaker going?  Port?  Connect 5?  I don’t want to bypass my current setup and have the record player go directly to the Sonos.  I might consider for the future going all Sonos and losing the current speakers but that would still entail using the receiver, right?     I’m definitely lost with all this and unable to connect the dots by just reading others posts.  Any help will be greatly appreciated!   Thank you   Todd

If I want to use the Brennan B2 as a CD player and Internet Radio as well as a passive NAS, to do this, can I hook it up to any Sonos product with a line in? I was thinking of a Play 5 but may now considering the Port since I have to wire the B2 to the router with a ethernet cable in a different room.

Hi all.   I currently have the Sonos Amp (not new one) with a pair of Bronze Monitor Audio 2 book shelf speakers (decent £250 bookshelf speakers) that I use for music in my lounge. Sounds great.  Not plugged into TV due to the audio delay (i tried years ago to sort this but there didn’t seem to be a work around). so been listening to the TV Native speakers. Yeah I know, sounds pants.  My current TV is a 9 yr old 40” Samsung that doesn’t have ARC HDMI input.    Anyway, despite ideally wanting to spend on a separate AV receiver for flexibility of speakers and upgrades, I think for simplicity's sake I will carry on with the Sonos alternatives.    I know if I upgrade my TV to an ARC-HDMI and trade in my old amp for a new amp I can have my TV use the the two Bronze speakers to get what would be an upgrade on my TV sound.  I do listen to music a lot in the lounge so I thought this method would mean I still have a pretty dedicated stereo music amp connected to my Bronze speakers while upgradi

So i need a wireless speaker for the living room. Sonos One SL is the one i want to purchase. The thing is, i don’t use any streaming services (maybe a weird thing to say if you’re buying a smart speaker), because i like to OWN my music, to have specific editions of the albums, sometimes a redacted tracklist, etc (also, lots of the stuff just ain’t available on these services anyway). So with that said, I want to buy One SL to use it with my personal/local iTunes music library (i’m an iMac user, High Sierra 10.13.6 if that matters). To be able to use it as a desktop speaker generally would be nice as well, since my iMac is placed in the same room.  I imagine the process to be something like this: i click AirPlay, i select my One SL as an output and that’s it. Am i wrong assuming it’s THAT easy? Will it end up being a headache? Will i feel forced to ditch my library and switch to the streaming services (not gonna happen)? I do realise that my question may sound kinda lame with the obvio

I understand internet access is required for setup. Is a connection required to play via AirPlay once setup is complete? I’m looking to gift this to my parents who do not have Wifi. 

I play my vinyl records through a turntable which is connected to a pre-amp and then to a play:5. It is a great combination as it combines old and new enabling me to listen to my records, CD, and music streaming, without having too many boxes (which the wife hates). The only drawback is that there isn’t a headphone connection on any of the units which would enable me to listen to the music in peace while the family are clattering around the room. Looking at the messages on the community this doesn’t appear to be a new problem but has anyone found a way around it (please note the comment about not having too many boxes). thanks.

Hey all, Thinking about getting a Sonos Beam as TV Soundbar, but somehow concerned about the level of data privacy/security when bringing in another microphone in my home.  Can you please explain how the Sonos Beam is designed once it comes to deactivating the Microphone when pressing the button on top of the device? E.g. is the light part of the electric circuit of the microphones or is it only a software-wise deactivation of the device? Is it possible to remotely activate the microphone e.g.? Is the microphone still listening/recording even if deactivated? Is the microphone listening/recording if Alexa/Google Assistant aren’t setup? I would really appreciate some input as it helps me to take a decision on which soundbar to buy. Thank you and best regards, Kai
