What to get

I have numerous sonos speaker all WIFI around house I'm looking to purchase a sound bar of some type and wondered....if I buy sonos firstly can it connect via optical to tv output and secondly if it did would it the connect to other WiFi sonos speakers Note my FIVE is old gen so we have to use S1 APP not sure if that makes difference also  Help appreciated 

Hello.I have an old music system (record player, cassette and CD player) with passive speakers.*I send photos of the team.I want to be able to play the three players on the Sonos speakers and from Sonos to be able to play on the passive speakers.I want to keep choosingWhat is the best way to do it?I had thought about buying a Sonos amp or buying a connect:amp.Connect the amplifier output of the equipment to the amp and the amp outputs to the passive speakers.Could it be?Would there be problems when listening from the old equipment on the passive speakers from going through two amplifiers?Is there a way to connect the old stereo without going through the old amplifier?Sorry if any questions are stupid, but I'm very new to these topics.  

We are building a new house, and I would like to equip the living/dining/kitchen area with Sonos ceiling speakers and Sonos TV audio. I’m new to Sonos equipment, so I’m still learning how this might work.The room measures 31 feet x 30 feet, with a vaulted ceiling that is 9 feet at the walls and 11’-6” at the peak. There will be a lot of hard surfaces -- kitchen counters and cabinets, large glass doors, hard-surface floors with rugs -- so I’m not expecting perfection, just hoping for a decent listening experience.Our goals are to have TV sound come through the ceiling speakers when watching TV programs while working in the kitchen/dining area; have music available through ceiling speakers in the great room area when not watching TV; and have a surround system (or at least a soundbar and sub) in the TV area for dedicated TV

Hi,Hoping to get some advice from the community about the best way to play CD’s in my system as I own some discs which aren’t on streaming services.I have a Beam, sub and 2x play 1’s in a single room.From the research I’ve done, a cd player or turntable must have a built in pre-amp in order to work with sonos, however I dont know what I need to look out for when browsing - dont most cd players have a built in pre-amp?I’ve found a couple options but dont know if they’d work? Im looking for a solution that isnt going to break the bank but sound decent.

Hi.  I’m looking to add a turntable to my existing setup, as birthday gift for my wife who is nostalgic for vinyl! From  the research I’ve done the world of vinyl seems more complicated (and expensive!) than I imagined. I’m still undecided if the best route is to add to my Sonos system or purchase a standalone turntable and speakers.  I currently have a beam, sub and two play ones in the lounge linked to my TV with the two play ones acting as surrounds and a seperate Sonos one in the kitchen.  Am I correct that if I buy a turntable and era 100 with line in this will allow me to send music to allmy other speakers? Would the era 100 be sufficient? (I believe the 5 is a better option but adds more expense so was hoping the existing sub etc would assist)  TIA 

Hi everyone, I'm new to Sonos and looking for advice on setting up a multi-room audio system. What are some best practices for optimizing sound quality and connectivity across multiple rooms? Any tips or recommendations for a seamless experience?

I work in a small office with around 8 people sitting in the same room. The space is an old shopfront, so fairly narrow and deep in plan. We are looking to upgrade our speaker system in the office for the volume of music we play to be more equally distributed than if one person is playing from their desk. The Sonos Era 100 seems like a good solution, with two sources of sound instead of one. I know the set of 2 you can buy are meant to be in two separate rooms, but what are peoples experiences using this system, or the Symfonisk for that matter, for similar purposes? Would there be an issue with latency from the speaker further away? If they are used as a stereo pair, does the separating of the channels sound strange when you’re sat closer to one of the speakers? Thankful for any thoughts on this. Thanks.

Hi, I have an Audio-Technica Bluetooth capable turntable.  I have an Arc, sub gen 3 and two Era 100’s in my surround setup.  Is my best option in playing my turntable to get a port and play through my setup or get a couple Bluetooth speakers and play independently?   

Hi, I’m remodeling my house now and try to build a sound system in my house mainly for music not for tv or surround.  What do you think about this setup: Sonos AMP 4 speakers Signature 5 Series 8” In-Ceiling Speaker  by Episode will be connected in Parallel to sonos amp.Klipsch RW-5802IIIn-wall passive subwoofer Will be connected in RCA direct to the sonos amp. Do I need a sonos port? any other suggestions, will the sonos amp will handle the 4 speakers with the subwoofer?  I’m open to other suggestions to build a music system in my living room

I’m so lost  I’m looking to fill a 700ish sf studio with music as well as wireless mic connection, could I buy a Sonos Connect and run 2 play 1s off of it, would it play both the mic and the music? Is there any other option?

Is it better to buy one Move 2 speaker or 2 Sonos Era 100 speakers. I use my Sonos’s at my home for indoor and outdoor use at the same time, and sometimes only inside or out.

I have a Sub that - from the beginning of the serial number - was manufactured in February 2014. The packaging and cosmetics of the Sub match those of a Gen 1, but when I check my system details online, it says it’s Gen 2.I double checked with an online Sonos rep and they confirmed the same thing. Even though the product image on my ‘System” page doesn’t match the actual Sub I have.Did Sonos release the Gen 2 in the beginning of 2014 WITHOUT changing the cosmetic design?My Sub with the packagingMod Edit: Removed serial number

I am trying to understand minimum upgrade options on my legacy system. My configuration is 2 Sonos Play:1 speakers, 1 Sonos Connect, and 1 Sonos Connect:AMP, all currently connected via Sonos Bridge. All were purchased in 2013 except for one Play:1 that was added in 2016. I am interested in utilizing the upgrade discounts to add Airplay capability. Not sure if I can mix and match old with new or if I need to upgrade everything. Question: Are any of these legacy components compatible with the newer Sonos S2 iOS App? According to the Sonos website, When an AirPlay compatible Sonos product is playing AirPlay audio, you can group it with any other Sonos product in your system for multi-room playback.Question: Does that mean I could upgrade one Play:1 speaker to an Era and stream music via AirPlay to that speaker, and then group it with the rest of the legacy system (or maybe at least the other Play:1 speaker)?

I’m looking for some guidance on setting up a multi-room audio system. Living Room: This will be the main area for TV watching, so guessing the unlimate immersive set?Master Bedroom: I plan to do some TV watching here as well, so I’d like a good audio setup, but not as extensive as the living room.Dining Area: I’m unsure how to effectively cover this space. Any recommendations?Bathrooms: I was thinking of using single Era 100s. Would that be sufficient?Balconies: I’m debating between the Roam or Move for these areas. I looking forward to get a 300 era, I know that it`s not compatible with the minisubbuffer. As an option if I get it, I think that the only one is to create a new system for the 300 era and play them at the same time, Can somebody give me another advise?

Hi, I’m about to bring Sonos into my Home Theatre and am getting a bit confused - help!   I can’t have rears as there is nowhere for them to go, so was looking at ceiling speakers above the seating position instead, but given the size of the room I’m now thinking it may be overkill…..and unnecessary hassle. Soundbar + Sub + Era could be the way forward perhaps?What would be the best sound solution for this sized room?Arc or Beam Soundbar?Era100 or Era300?  (They can sit next to the TV with no worries)Would there be any benefit in ceiling speakers if I go Era300?  My ceilings are 2.4m (7.8ft).
