turntable gift help

My partner is a big Sonos guy who has speakers setup around our house. He’s been talking about wanting a record player so naturally my thought was to get him one that integrates with his existing Sonos system as a gift. Problem is that I know nothing about Sonos and want to get him the right things without ruining the surprise by asking him, so here we are 🙂. A few questions if anyone could please provide some guidance like I’m 5 years old:

  1. is Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB Turntable the equivalent of a record player?
  2. there are three different “set” options (found here) but the description(s) are like a foreign language and the reviews are super confusing/contradictory… given the photos attached of what he currently has for his setup: which of the three packages do I need to get him for this to work out of the box?

thank you so much!!!

These offer an all-in-one option and will work with Sonos and other devices.

You would need the turntable and a Sonos device with a Line-In, which none of those listed in your screenshot have.  The least expensive option for a Line-In would be the Era 100 with the Line-In adapter shown here:

Thank you so much, this seems like a safer bet!

@jgatie Would I need anything more than what’s included in the bundle linked to make it work with his existing system? A lot of the reviews say that it doesn’t come with all necessary cables?

You would need a 3.5 mm stereo to 2 x RCA cable. Like this:
