Voice control and smart home

Hi,I want to be able to tell Alexa (through the App or Voice) to play music on my Play:1 speakers and Playbar.Alexa has found my Sonos One speakers and allows me to play music on them, but Alexa does not let me play music through my Sonos Play:1 and Playbar Speakers, as well as through my Sonos Groups/Rooms.Spotify IS able to find my Sonos Groups and Speakers, and does allow me to Play through any of those speakers using the Spotify App.I'm not sure why Alexa will not give me the option to use the Sonos Skill to play music through my Play:1 and Playbar speakers.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks 

We have six Sonos speakers on S2: 2 PlayBars (3 & 4 years old), 4 Play:1s (3-5 years old). I realize they were all bricked by Sonos, a fact that really peeves me off because now I’m stuck with an expensive speaker system that to my knowledge was never bricked before. I chose PlayBars just as S2 was being introduced because I was told by the salesperson that I could never run them in the same groupings as my older speakers, thus getting newer, lower-quality sound bars would make all of my Play:1s useless.Our smart home system is Apple HomeKit, using the latest AppleTV as our hub. I don’t care about creating automations in HomeKit with Sonos. Wired systems aren’t an option as we live in an antique home.While it’s impossible to add Airplay2 to my older speakers. can I somehow link my speakers to an inexpensive hub so that I can Airplay2 to all or some speakers and bypass this terribly outdated and awful app? Alexa isn’t fully working on my era 100. I can’t control Spotify using it. Ive checked the Alexa app and my era 100 is on there but doesn’t seem to be linked as a speaker. When I ask Alexa to change songs , on my era, it tells me that it can’t support the stream and to add my era 100 device. Very strange. 

Hi,I have a strange issue with my Sonos Beam and Alexa. Alexa is linked correctly in my Beam and responds to all my commands except for the ones to control smart devices.Things that are working fine with my Beam when I ask Alexa:Play music in spotify Weather forecast Open Skills Execute my Routines Play radioThe only thing that is NOT working is the control of smart devices such as switches or lights. If I ask Alexa to turn on my bedroom, it answers “I cannot find any device or group called bedroom”. But the same command on other Amazon echo devices that i have at home work fine. And this happens with any device… It’s really strange because the routines execute just fine, even the routines that turn on some lights…This initially worked fine for about 1 year, but then stopped working in the last couple of months. I have an Arc for my living room tv and a beam for my bedroom tv.  I have the Amazon Alexa voice turned on for the beam to give commands.  However, when I am watching tv in the living room the sound from the arc pauses for a few seconds any time someone is asking the beam anything.  I do not see any settings in the Sonos app regarding the Arc for this to occur.  This will happen even if the bedroom door is closed and out of audio range of the arc.  Seems like they are connected in some way but cannot figure out why or how.  Any suggestions?

How can I turn off a Sonos audio message about voice control?  Whenever I pause and then unpause my Era 100 speakers, I get a Sonos audio message about using voice control; and I want to delete that or turn it off.  After hearing the message several dozen times, I’m ready to delete it

Today I removed connection to Sonos from the Google Home app (I have 9 speakers). I added it again in the Google Home app and it all worked. At this point i noticed that a few of my speakers had Google assistant missing. I tried to add it from the Sonos app, and it did not work. I decided to remove the connection from Google Home app and re-add it, and this failed with the following error message: "Register your speakersYou need to link speakers to your myemail@hotmail.com Sonos account before you can add this skill.Go to More > Settings > Account Settings in the Sonos app. (If you don't see Sonos Account, your Sonos system needs an update.)" I have the system working with all the speakers and thet seem registered on the Sonos webpage.I have tried everything. Rebooted my network totally, rebooted my sonos system, deleted and re-created my home in Google home, but it all results in the same error. The Sonos tech support guy in the chat told me to remove all Sonos devices from Goog

 I have two IKEA Symfonisk, and I am trying to connect them to my Google Home.When I try to connect them, Google Home sends me to the Sonos website to log in. Then I get a message that I need to connect the speakers to my account, even though the speaker system is already on my account, and I am logged in on the Sonos app When I try to move on from this page, I get a new message saying I need to update the Sonos app, but then I am stuck because the app is already fully updated. If I click the update button, it opens the Sonos app and nothing else happens.I tried reaching out to customer support, but they were unable to help me.Anyone know how to fix this? 

How can I play my favorite radio stations defined in  My Sonos (Favorites) via Sonos voicecontrol.Each time I ask “Hey Sonos ,,.” he searches into the Sonos library and not into My favorite stations. So stupid that I think something is wrongly configured at my side.Thank you for your help.

Hi,Since yesterday, all IFTTT Sonos applets (used for about 2 years) no longer work. I have now “reconnected” the Sonos service in IFTTT several times. Connection fine. When creating a new applet I get the following error message:“The operation could not be completed (IFTTT.NetworkError.Error 1)”Is IFTTT out of service from Sonos end? Does it work for others.Thanks for feedback.

Trying to use voice commands thru the google home mini (gen1) to my pair of One SL's. Can't get the Sonos App to see the Google Home Mini. From the Google Assistant app I am able to link the Sonos speaker, names also match. Sonos "add a third party smart..." link simply opens the quick help instructions. Youtube Music on Sonos app and Google Assistant app are both logged in but all voice commands just play music on the Google Home Mini itself. After endless fiddling I was able to use the Google Home app manual up/down, play, pause buttons to control the Sonos but no voice commands seem to work. TIA! 

Hello,I have an issue with Google Assistant, it worked really well in the past but now, when I try to link my account, I have the error message “You need to link speakers to your Sonos account”. I already have my speakers linked to my account. I tried to reset all my system (Beam 2 + Sub Mini) and deleted all apps (Sonos, Google Home, Google Assistant) and reinstall these but nothing work. Could you help me with that ? Thank you,

I am trying to setup google assistant on my Living Room setup (Beam +2xOne) and my move and always get the same Error message in the Sonos App: “There was a problem adding Google Assistant”. Initially it was working in the living room, but in the process of figuring out where the problem is I destroyed the link somehow. I did remove the sonos devices from google home and tried again, i restarted the systems… just dont know what else i can try. Christoph

I have the Alexa skill and Sonos Voice Control enabled on my Era 100. I can set the Alexa volume level from 1-10 and the Sonos from 1-100%; so maybe I am ahead of the game.Whenever I ask Alexa what the volume level is, it is currently saying “Device Volume Level is 2”. It has said the level is at 5,1 and other numbers before. It has no affect on the audio levels from the Era, but it makes no sense and I cannot find any other people reporting the issue.

Hi alli bought a five today (first Sonos product). I register it fine and everything is working beautifully…..apart from setting up ALEXA. when I try and register the device in the Alexa app or enable the skill it just sends me in a loop that ends in the error message: Register your speakersYou need to link speakers to your xxxxx@hotmail.com Sonos account before you can add this skill. everything is registered and up to date. I’ve tried restarting and registering but it just loops the same. Anyone got any ideas? 

I am Trying to set Up my Alexa on my sonos one. o i went through the steps and as soon a i try adding the sono skill and need to log in into my sonos account i get the message that i need to update my app which is up to date and then also that i need to register a speaker onto my account which is working fine through sonos app. When i log into my online account and check under my system Menu i get a mesage showing no devices registered. How do I get it to add then. Also tried adding Google assistant and exactly the same problem. 

Hi, Im not able to pair my sonos speaker with google assistent… I discussed this with your customer support a few days ago. They told me, that they would fix the issue and that i would be able to call you the day after Saturday ( you a closed- so thanks for that) How ever im still not able to connect my sonos to google assistent. I im able to add them in the app but i cant use the funtion on the sonos or in the app 

I had Sonos beam gen 2 for about a year, and I connected it to the Google Assistant with no problem.My brother bought the same speaker but got stuck when connecting the Google Assistant with “no devices found,” and I tried to disconnect and reconnect with my system as well to see and help him and got stuck on the same error.any ideas on how to solve it? saw some posts talked about unplugging and re plugging , changing networks etc etc but they didn’t worked for me

Hi,My Google Assistant has suddenly stopped playing any requested tracks/radio stations. When the command is given the assistant responds in a positive way stating the correct track, station or playlist, but then nothing plays.I have disconnected the Assistant and reconnected but nothing.The Roam is playing tracks from the S2 app with no issues 

Verbally asking Google on my sonos arc to play music results in this response: "Sorry, it looks like you haven't set up Spotify Premium on your Sonos app. To play from Spotify Premium, link the same account on both Sonos and Google Assistant."I've tried looking at other posts but I haven't seen any working solutions. I've done exactly as Google said as well as reinstalling apps and reconnecting Spotify to Google assistant and to Sonos. But I still get the same message every time.

GRRR. I had an issue with controlling my Play 1 and Play 3 with Smartthings and Alexa. My iPhone normally is paired with Smartthings and will pause my three Sonos devices when I leave the house and play them when I return. Recently, I noted that they were not responding to routines set in Smartthings, both scheduled events and proximity events generated when I leave or return. One of the solutions I read was to delete and then reinstall with Smartthings. Well..that was a bust because now I can’t reinstall them. Smartthings says that I must have a hub. Well, I have a Sonos Bridge. I noted that none of them are now “discovered” by Alexa even though I have the skill enabled. Any ideas?

When asking Sonos voice assistant to play music it says that I must have a music subscription.I use Spotify all the time with sonos. Alexa has no trouble with Spotify. I recently used sonos voice assistant with One of my Sono One devices and it worked fine. When I moved the speaker to another location it stopped accepting Spotify.I have since deleted Spotify and reinstalledI have deleted Sonos and reinstalledI have removed voice assistant and reinstalledI have run out of choicesWhen I look at music services in setting I see that Spotify is greyed out with a comment … not compatible

Hello, I am running with some issues with my sonos beam gen 2 with Alexa and Amazon music. When I Ask Alexa to play music, it réponds but it kever plays music (Alexa voice command is working fine on my ERA 100).On amazon music when I try to cast to the sonos beam it connects and then the apps says it disconnectedI try different things but nothing has solved issue : factory reset, enable/disable the sonos skills, try to remove and add Alexa from the sonos beam.

I feel stupid having to yell “Alexa” to ask her to stop the music when the volume is low. The Sonos One’s microphone is fine when the volume is not low, but really bad when low.

Does anyone have issues with using Alexa skills through Sonos speakers? I have a few linked to my account (Neato for my vacuum & Delta for my kitchen tap as examples). If I ask an Alexa enabled Sonos to vacuum, it will tell me it's unable to find a device or group named Neato. But if I ask the same from an Amazon Echo it works as it should. Same thing for the Delta skill. It's been like this for as long as I can remember. Alexa does work on the Sonos speaker as I can ask it to pause, play music etc.
