David Pierce of Wired has a good piece up on why the Sonos/Alexa partnership took so long. Side note: he mentions them pulling up Human by Rag 'n'Bone Man as their demo song. Hi, Anyone know if I can yet play my music to my Play:3s from my amazon Echos without a hardwire connection?

I was directed here by Sonos support... I have been part of Sonos betas for some time and I have several Amazon Echo as well as lots of Sonos speakers in the house. Would it be possble for me to become part of the Sonos Amazon Echo beta program?

For months there has been fevered speculation about, and impatience with, the planned integration of Echo and Sonos. It has very recently been announced that Sonos is planning its own voice activated device, presumably to compete with Sonos. Since this suggests that the long awaited integration is now less likely, it seems remarkable that this development has received no attention.

I've read conflicting stories, and evidently Sonos is going to offer a "smart speaker" Oct. 4th. And I read other reports that current speakers will work with Alexa. Will my current Sonos speakers work with Alexa, or do you need the new "smart speakers"?

Hi there can anyone help me please? My whole house is full of Sonos speakers ?. In my playroom I have Sonos playbar, subwoofer and a couple of play ones so the full setup. I am getting an Amazon echo dot and plan to connect it via the audio out to a Sonos connect so that when I speak to the dot it will go via the connect and I then want it to play via my set up in the playroom (playbar, sub, 2 play ones) So I want to know that if the TV is playing and I then say 'Alexa play something from Coldplay' will the Amazon echo dot send audio to the Sonos connect which will then automatically play via my playroom setup and turn the tv audio off? Also, once I have finished listening to music via the amazon dot, how can I then get the audio back for the TV?

I'm totally cool with you taking time to get it right. But it was August of last year you announced Alexa integration. I've had an Echo for a while and honestly it is easier to tell it to play something, even if the sound is inferior to my play:5.

I have a Sonos Amp system that plays music throughout my house. I just bought an echo dot. Can I connect the dot to amp and have the dot run sonos? Note I do not have a sonos speaker, just the amp.

I've heard about the recent videos demonstrating the Alexa/Sonos integration and so far it looks like you can use Alexa to play, pause, etc. I'm curious if anyone knows how this integration is going to work? Is it just Alexa voice controlling the Sonos app? Or are things that you might have heard through the Echo/dot speaker going to play through the Sonos speakers? For example, if I ask for the morning briefing from Alexa, will that play through Sonos speakers? I ask because I find the Sonos app very cumbersome for a lot of things I normally do, like listen to audiobooks or podcasts and switching from listening at home to in my car, etc. If Alexa provides voice control for Sonos, that won't really change any of that. But if what would normally play through Alexa speakers will now play through Sonos speakers, that's a huge difference (I would love to be able to connect my phone via bluetooth to Alexa and then play off my phone through Alexa to the Sonos speakers). I know the arg
