I had an interaction with a community member (no Sonos logo) and a Sonos moderator that made me think of this Reddit thread.https://www.reddit.com/r/sonos/s/S7o8F5s5hbObviously Praytell wouldn’t be doing their job if they weren’t posting here (and I’m not saying the few posts praising the update are them). But there are some posts that make me wonder. “How Praytell is influencing this subredditPraytell is a company who specialises in brand advertisement and public relations. Their job is to manage all public relations and e-reputation for a client and influence on social networks for the client benefit. They call it STRATEGIC STORYTELLING.They have been hired by Sonos by the end of 2022 to manage all of their communication.Since the new app debacle, 4 monthes ago, they are behind Sonos awfull communication like the famous "It takes courage..." The CEO wrote. They are heavilly influencing on social media too. This is their basic job and it's their job to do it posing as genuine satisfied
I was so excited to see the recent update and installed it immediately. Everything worked better than ever and for the first time I used the Sonos voice control. It was glorious and impressed all my friends. Then just as suddenly as it came, it went and now nothing works. Or worse, everything will turn on for a minute or two and then turn off by itself never to be resuscitated. My house is filled with these speakers, I have 4 of the IKEA ones, 1 portable, a beam & a sol one. It’s my dream system, but it doesn’t work 🫤.Please advise.
disappointed! I soend too much time messing around with this. it cost me $$$ to use this product
Well..another write up on the failing new Sonos app….doesn't seem to be getting better..
I have two Sonos Play 1s and a Sonos roam. I have always been dissatisfied because of glitches and other problems. I persevered and accepted the poor service. After the latest update Sonos could no longer find my music library. I had a new full fibre broadband installed. When setting my system up again more in hope than faith, it found the system , identified the Roam and got close to setting it up but then failed. It can’t find my Sonos Play 1s and apparently I can’t change the broadband without a factory reset. I have finally given up. I no longer have the energy to try to work with a company who manifestly don’t care about their customers. I bought an Apple HomePod, took it out the box, switched on and it worked. Plus my entire library was there. Oh joy! Farewell .So is.
I’m building a dedicated home theatre and while I have the Sonos ARC + ERA 300 setup in another room, I would LOVE to get SONOS music (esp Atmos through Apple or Tidal) into my dedicated home theatre setup. Despite buying a ‘works with SONOS’ Sonos ES 11ch AV receiver, I am learning that I cannot get anything beyond stereo quality…As a long time SONOS fanboy and someone with 12+ rooms with SONOS, it’s a real bummer that my dedicated AV room and highest end audio gear (7.2.4 home theatre) can’t sync/play nicely with Sonos in anything more than stereo…
When will sonos be fixed
I find it really hard to believe how SONOS has been so unhelpful to their customers in regards to their soundbars, they have made their latest soundbars knowing that only a small percentage of TVs in peoples homes will have eARC…..the countless posts on the web regarding these soundbars and not getting the audio output customers are lead to believe they would. It would have been nice for SONOS to create their own HDMI switch that would have helped resolve this massively, rather than their customers painfully searching online for a HDMI Switch that would do the job.I’m an installer so I know what is needed, so not a problem for me, I’m writing this post in the hopes maybe SONOS will see it, I have been a SONOS user for 12 years or so.but recently with their new App, lack of help and selling devices that are seriously misleading to customers.Shame on you SONOS !
The newest version of the app requires additional permissions, is bloated with ads, does not work offline, and enables sonos to sell my personal data. This is unacceptable.I’ve tried to roll back to 16.1, but this doesn’t work with my UPNP media Library.I’ve also tried to use play.sonos.com and login.sonos.com, but on all my devices it says “Screen size unsupported”.On my linux desktop I have noson and another unofficial controller.I’ve tried PlexAmp for android, but the streaming to devices is very buggyI need a solution that just works.
What’s the most effective way to express a complaint with Sonos? I purchased a soundbar during Labor Day weekend. It still hasn’t arrived. I keep getting UPS notifications saying a label has been created but they don’t have my package. Now I am getting notifications about delays…daily!I called support and the guy on the phone said he would follow up after contacting the warehouse…he didn’t. And I have no way of following up.
Great support from Sonos, never would have imagined the clarity the team has between them selves and their partners. and I am still not got any reply from their specialist.so I got an email confirming and out of warranty replacement, which intern became a 30% discount and now even better change it for a full price ARC. If I was using some form of DNS filtering would I need to Whitelist all the services I use with the Sonos system? Would that Whitelist include services like Qobuz, Spotify, Tidal etc? I’m a DNS dummy. I see a number of posts referring to services that don’t work. At times DNS is referenced.
To Patrick Spence, I am one of your many dissatisfied -with -the -app customers.I was once-loyal sonos customer, who owns more of your speakers than I can count.I have 2 houses and each house has multiple sonos speakers, from play 1s (in every room), play 3s, play5s to playbars, and a 'move'.I guess you don't know the old adage: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". In your case, it should read: "if it ain't broke, don't break it", or, "if it ain't broke, why break it?". I can't help but wonder what kind of sound business decision it was to take something like the app and change it. Did you hire sometechie who needed to prove something to you? Were you all sitting around a table brainstorming for the next great addition to your once-great products?Surely it had zero to do with your customers. Were people writing and begging you to come out with a new app which wouldremove this that and the other thing (starting with playlists!!!!!!) I have no problem with the app on my mac. If I have the
I know that there must be many Sonos owners that are getting tired of no response from Patrick Spence. Has anyone thought of getting a letter draft asking for his resignation from Sonos, we could send it to the board of directors. He is taking his company and running it into the ground. We all have a lot of money tied up in Sonos. I am not ready to let It go by the wayside; it would be costly to replace it.Let me know your thoughts!
Never having had any problems with the app updates until now. Someone in their infinite wisdom has decided that the volume controls on the speaker (100) now don’t work when you press them.Well, they do after an annoying delay so turning that loud music down when you turn the speaker on, by pressing the play button on the speaker, doesn’t work.Instead of working on the device activated by pressing the play button it appears that the lovely thing now has to write and send a note to mummy to ask permission and wait whilst mummy finishes ironing her petticoats to write a note back saying OK you can do this. But Mummy forgets to write a note to the app giving it permission to show what’s playing.Sigh. Now THIS is extremely frustratingly annoying as a stream is started directly from a speaker and using the vol controls ON the speaker. No app interaction at all. This NEVER used to happen.Bloody annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!No wonder they won’t release their new products until this gets sorted. I have mo
I used to love Sonos, now I hate your products with a passion. I feel you have robbed me of thousands of pounds for a product that used to be brilliant and now you have wrecked it. I am home alone tonight and I can not access any music that I used to be able to do without a problem. Your updates are hateful, they don’t work, your consumers didn’t want them and right now I get zero value from your products. Worse I hate them and thy cause stress. your corporation is a perfect example of taking something brilliant to absolutely hateful. Your board should be sacked for utter incompetence and customer hatred. I hope u go bankrupt
Dunno maybe Wirecutter should fix their network, reboot, get a new mesh system.I’m having no issues with the app, must be them. 🤣 But in all (not) seriousness this is very brave of them 🤣Will be interesting to see what they recommend when they finish redoing the article. Quote, emphasis mine: We are completely re-envisioning this guide and will no longer recommend the Sonos multiroom audio platform as the best overall choice. Please see our note at the top of the guide for more details. After careful consideration, we no longer recommend the Sonos multiroom audio platform as the best overall choice. Sonos recently rolled out a major update to its control app that had a ton of problems, leaving its customers with a much less intuitive experience than they had before. While the company is slowly addressing some of the major issues with the new app, this is not the first time Sonos has hurt customer trust through poorly executed changes. That said, Sonos still makes great speakers that
Done with sonos. Someone tell me who i can use instead. There must be competition that teats customers fairly.
I was logged off, and now while trying to log on it says i have to agree to NEW terms of service in particular claims and binding arbitration? I refuse. Can i get a refund on y SONOS products i cant use my Music Library on like before? I'm not intending on litigating but i am inclined when one of your many 100,000's users finally start a claim and litigate this fiasco. I am so inclined to jump on a class action lawsuit if one is ever filed. You guys are horrible. instead of fixing the obvious problems and your mistakes. you want to instead push your customers in the corner and limit your liability. this is so wrong. you are not accepting responsibility for your mistakes and harm created on your customers/consumers. You are coercing customers who are in despair and conflict with costly equipment that they cannot now use. Horrible, just horrible. are you guys Russian, North Koreans, Chinese Communist Party? This cannot be legal and enforecable in a court of law. This is coersion.
I am with all others that vented their dislike of the latest update(s), yet I am more worried looking into the WHY of this…imho: The write off of so many functions and features can only be to soon re-introduce them as 'new services' for an extra cost!!!Why else would any sane company otherwise create such chaos in a good working service?
The new app is trash. Not only can I not play my music from my PC. YouTube music will only play one song at a time out of my uploads. This ish cost to much money for this type of treatment. I’ll never purchase another Sonos product again
It is now 4 months since the disastrous app update. My system is still not functioning properly and I want this issue sorted. Please do the right thing and offer to buy back the products that do not work as they should. This is your doing not and it’s not right.
The only way that Sonos, the company, could have so badly damaged their product and their company with the latest software release can be due to a serious failure on the part of senior management. Software developers are means to an end. Management is responsible for pointing the developers in the right direction. Clearly, senior management utterly failed to control and manage the developers and, ultimately, the company. That is the only reasonable explanation for the mess that is the current software release. One can only surmise that senior management was more concerned about things monetary than about the quality of the product and, more importantly, the customer’s experience. To announce that some $20m will be spent to clean up the mess is not a sign of competence, rather it is an admission of failure. Perhaps Sonos should have spent more time and effort making excellent products than litigating patent lawsuits.
Has anyone on here gotten any satisfaction with Sonos customer service. I’ve been trying for months to get this issue resolved and nothing. I get in touch with someone who PROMISES a call back to schedule an appointment but no one ever calls back. The link they sent to schedule an appointment has no appointments available. I’ve sent two emails to the CEO but he’s worthless as are their speakers. I have no idea if its the update but once I use the app to turn on my surround sound everything goes mute. The only thing I can do is turn off the speakers on my app and use my TV volume. I wish I’d never heard of Sonos.
