Hi, I’m looking to wall mount a Sonos 5. I don’t have a socket up high on the wall. I could run one but it will still look messy I think having a plug on the wall. How do people usually do it? All I can think to do is cut the plug off, run the cable in the wall and use an inline fuse to make it safer, then hardwire into the socket. I know Sonos wouldn’t recommend it but can this be done and is it what people usually do or am I missing something?
I just purchased a second Amp to use on our outdoor speakers. Both amps work independently, but when I try to connect them via the (new?) app on IOS, I get the message "Unable to connect. Try again later". I've followed all the suggested solutions given here on this forum and am now in the queue for a live person. Any other suggestions? Both amps will play music, they just won't sync up. Thanks!
Sonos: Please allow the minimum volume to be turned down - it doesn't matter what you set, it's just too loud. I have 21 of your devices and I also sell Sonos products to my customers - I'm always asked about the minimum volume, it's too loud!listen to your customers, please!
Is there a sound delay when pulling bluetooth music from Roam to Play 1 speakers?
I was at work and my wife asked me if I started playing music in the Bedroom. She sent me a video recording of the music playing, and it’s not music that either of us listen to. I am not even able to connect to our speakers And my phone is the only one that is connected. Did someone else access our Bluetooth speakers? How is this possible? It happened quite late at night also. How can I make sure that this will not happen again?
I cant seem to find the details of the Sonos Connect Amp crossover anywhere. What I do know is that when an RCA wire is connected to the Sub out on the Connect Amp an 80Hz high pass filter is applied to the speaker outputs. 1. Is the subwoofer out low lass filtered at 80Hz? - seems yes, which is greatIs the speaker output high filtered? Seems so, which is great. what is the order of the high pass and low pass filters?3. What type of filter? is it a Linkwitz-Riley?
I’ve purchased an ARC, Sub Gen 3 and two ERA 100’s. I’m not really hearing the rear speakers. Help.
Sonos eArc connection options with non eARC 2013 Samsung 65” tv.
Hi, I have arc sl soundbar and 2 one sl surround. I verified the setup and it is all correct. However, I still can’t get Dolby Atmos when playing movies like latest mission impossible. Instead it is playing in Dolby digital 5.1. Any thoughts on what to do?
Did Sonos wreck their new app ...again? As of this morning the Sonos app refuses to recognize half my speakers. The only speakers that show or play are the amps, a Move and a new ERA 300. What happened to connectivity for for everything else? I have several Sonos 1s, a sub and a Playbar that are suddenly not recognized. Any fix for this?
Hi, I have a Sonos Roam and it is very hard to connect to. I have seen various threads on this site saying the same thing with the users more or less describing the same experience as me. I particularly share the sentiment on one user who explained how frustrating it is to decide you want to put music on, only to be denied by 20 minutes of trying to connect. All that happens is that the moment passes, and your wife looks at you disappointedly. When you consider how our phones connect effortlessly to everything else one has to ask how has Sonos made an expensive bit of kit that doesn’t connect very easily? And then you see the mess they have made with the app, and you realise Sonos is incompetent. In most of the other threads, a chap called Ken Griffiths pops up to tell the users that are complaining about their Roam that his is OK, so what is the problem? It must all be fine. He does this on many posts, not apparently realising that all is clearly not fine. I always find contribution
I started out with one system - an Arc. Whenever I watched TV, the Sonos app would show something like TV audio - Dolby 5.1. Along with that, there was an option to increase/decrease the volume or even mute it. At one point, I decided to briefly play iHeartRadio on the arc. That now ALWAYS shows up.I recently added to my system (second TV) an arc, sub, and Era 100’s. I briefly saw the audio control options in the app when I selected the room and then viewed that system. Now the audio controls are missing for the new system and iHeartRadio still shows up.
For what it’s worth I have experienced the same issues as most of the posts here regarding the recent upgrade. I have a beam, sub, and 2 100’s connected and they were clearly out of balance after the update. I have tried a number of times unsuccessfully to retune the system with Trueplay. Then all of a sudden today I try again and it tunes them immediately.
Was there some big botched update or something? I wake up to my whole system disconnected, nothing works. I try to factory reset one of my 8 speakers and it starts updating, my app is on auto update so that updated already. i try to setup the rest and factory reset all of them and it none of them will connect. I didn’t change any of my network settings or anything. What is this ****? This is for my business too. Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
Hi,I’m trying to decide on what would be better for music listening. Mostly streaming off Spotify. I’m a bit concerned that the Fives may be replaced soonish which leans me towards the newer Era 300s but I’m not sure which would be better for my usage. I may decide to wall mount them. Would that negate having the up-firing tweeters? Im really stuck choosing. I’ve spoken to two Sonos reps and one said the Fives and the other the Era 300s. Any help would be super appreciated! Thank you
I changed my router and needed to change my wi fi network. Sonos support recommended that I reset the connection to factory settings, otherwise I could not connect. When connecting sonos products via the app, it finds them but cannot update, shows that an error has occurred when searching for updates What I didn't do and I rebooted the router and unplugged the sonos from the network, only to turn it back on 15 minutes later, nothing helps. I have used the Android app and the Iphone app, which I have reinstalled, but anyway it shows can't update the devices, it shows error, the Iphone shows that I need to log out of my account, but there is no way to do it in the app. Please help.
Hi, I currently own a 1st gen Beam and was curious if it would be possible to play Dolby Atmos content if I get a pair of Era 100’s as surround speakers, or would I need to upgrade to the 2nd gen Beam in order to access Dolby Atmos?
I’ve read a lot of threads about the Sonos app not being able to control Spotify volume. This issue is different. My iPhone volume controls can no longer control Spotify volume through Spotify. It doesn’t work using the physical volume keys. It doesn’t work using digital controls in AirPlay. It does work if I dive deep into Spotify controls and change in Spotify digital controlsAny way to enable Sonos volume control when using AirPlay and Spotify app? Ideally using physical keys but at a minimum using a more accessible volume controller somewhere else.I have latest iOS, latest Sonos app, and latest Sonos firmware update.
To stream YouTube music from my TV direct to my Sonos speakers should my optical cable be plugged into the TV at one end and the play bar at the other? This doesn’t work!
Hi, favor to ask the community as i’ve been searching for the last hr but no luck. I have a Samsung Frame TV and just installed an AMP + 4 sonos ceiling 8” speakers. I do not want a soundbar. So i’m curious how to get the sound working? I’m assuming HDMI-ARC from the FrameTV box to the AMP via HDMI cable? cheers
Sonos dropped a new update today, and I was sincerely hoping that this one would (FINALLY) restore our ability to link to our local stored music, making it available through the Sonos Music Library. Alas, despite that promise of a “mid June” fix, today’s didn't work. I have a MacBook Pro (late 2018) running the latest MacOS. So does anybody know the latest ETA for when we will be able to play the music we’ve purchased and stored on our systems, via SONOS? Perhaps as an aside, I cannot fathom why SONOS chose to take so much away from the many who have already invested in SONOS systems, so that SONOS can introduce new headphones. There’s no way in hell I’m going to buy headphones from a company that took away some of the most relied-upon features for our existing SONOS products, to hit a release date for their new product. Why would I assume any headphones I might purchase wouldn’t be treated the same way down the road?
This SVS wireless speaker ad just popped up on my Facebook feed. Hopefully looks like what could be the start of more direct competition for Sonos.Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
I’m thinking of purchasing a Premium Immersive Set with Arc , and ideally being able to “stream” music from a turntable - Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Turntable in Black (Sonos Edition), with a Port.Would this allow me to seamlessly switch from TV sound to Turntable, with sound coming from the surround 100s as well?I’ve found a few confusing suggestions about creating different rooms, pairing different speakers, using a 100 as “line in”, but that doesn't sound very appealing…
Have updated my ipad iphone yesterday to the much promised Musik Library will be back but no and the back to tv after playing music on amp missing. The app even after all updates is rubish bring backthe old app please then the poeple can choosewhich app they want to use.
So i got 2 One’s for my dad to work in surround with his arc. To his slight annoyance, a lot of the content he watches isn’t broadcast in surround, e.g. the world cup. So he would like his sonos One surrounds to work as a mono or stereo pair playing whats on tv, duplicating the arc. This can be automatic or manually switched. I was thinking i could create a separate group with the 2 One’s as a stereo pair and just switch between them in the app, but sonos, in their unending quest to minimize system flexibility, doesn’t allow speakers to be in more than one group, or at least i can’t find a way to do it.
