Hello everyone,(ROOM 1 - living room, in the pictures)I would like some advice on Sonos Beam vs. Sonos Arc.I already have a setup consisting of Beam 2, mini-sub, and 2x One SL, which I am very satisfied with, for my 3-meter by 5-meter living room.I've found a discount for the Sonos Arc at around $722 - brand new.I bought the Beam at a price at which I could probably sell it for about $323 - brand new, purchased a year ago.My question is, for the price difference between the two, and my 15-square-meter room, will there be differences that justify the upgrade?Has anyone else faced the same dilemma?Mainly, the system is used for:- TV, Twitch, YouTube- Music- MoviesI have heard negative opinions about the Arc regarding both dialogue clarity and midrange sounds. I've also seen many comments suggesting that the price difference between the two isn't worth it for such a small room. I should mention that it's important for me to keep the volume reasonable when listening to music or watching mo
I thought it couldn’t get any worse. No fast scroll, no album art, no search. You’ve basically destroyed use of my music library. Now I want to listen to an album called “Trance Europe Express” that I’ve filed under the Album Artist “Trance Europe Express” because it’s a series of compilations and I get this track 9, 3, 2, 10 etc. This is on both the Android app and Windows desktop. After playing this mess the Android app just crashes cyclically now. What else might suffer from the same thing? DJ Paul Oakenfold, filed under Album Artist Paul Oakenfold, lots of different artists. Yep, worked for years but now junked. Thousands of pounds worth of equipment now no more than scrap.Apologies if someone else has pointed this out but a search of topics didn’t immediately show anything obvious.I don’t expect anything other than corporate platitudes so really don’t bother. Do better.
Since my NAS device with SMB v1 only no longer works with Sonos I have to purchase a new NAS device. How do I know if a particular NAS has SMB v2 or higher? I’m not seeing this listed in the specs and don’t want to accidentally purchase a NAS that only has SMB v1. Does anyone know?
Unable to transfer ownership on my play gen 2 any ideas
I’ve bought many thousands of pounds worth of Sonos. The new update must have been written and tested by completely incompetent amateurs.Better companies sort things out when it’s obvious that an update is a complete disaster. Not Sonos apparently. I’m surprised there’s not a class action suit going on. Literally millions and millions of consumers spend turned into junk.own up - you’ve messed it up. Now tell us you’re going to fix it!!
The songs played on the SONOS speaker cannot be displayed synchronously on the SONOS client. The delay is very severe. Please solve it as soon as possible!
Well, had my workroom dual Sonos ERA 300s set up in stereo pair with sub and all was well. New app was automatically downloaded to my iPhone and lost the system. Nothing recognized. Finally, after trying to reconnect multiple times had to reset all 3 units (2 ERA 300s and Sub Gen 3) to factory defaults. Even then a hell of a time to reconnect. Had to create a new room for them and finally got them paired. Plays through Amazon Music fine. But trying to play iPhone music (Apple) through Bluetooth is no joy. Can pair but shows what appears to be a speaker designation for one of the speakers. And then only plays through one of the speakers and the sub. Will keep playing with it but made me wonder the extent of the issues the recent email from the company apologizing for the new app really are.
This new app is a complete disaster. Sonos had become part of my music experience; I’ve been using it for almost 10 years, and I’ve figured ways to move between music services, manage playlists, explore artists, queue up songs. This new update has removed at least 10 feature that I’ve noticed in the last week, and I imagine it will take forever to fix. Can I go back to the old app? I feel silly threatening to stop using Sonos, but this will seriously put me in Bluetooth mode, which is the first step. I mean it’s so bad. Why was this a good idea?
Alguien que hable español, me podría decir si es normal que mi sonos beam gen 2 de repente cuando veo televisión en una Samsung o juego en la Xbox se le vaya el sonido por 1 segundo o un poco más y después regrese?, es por la conexión? Moderator edit:Google Translate-Someone who speaks Spanish could tell me if it is normal that my Sonos Beam Gen 2 suddenly loses sound for 1 second or a little more when I watch TV on a Samsung or play on the Xbox and then comes back? Is it because of the connection?
In the past I have been using PLEX to run my Music - through the Sonos App - I had many issues with connection but never had any issues with volume. Most of my playlists were downloaded throughout the years from iTunes.I have signed up for Apple Music for convenience and now use Apple Music through the Sonos App to play my Playlists in Era100 Speakers - since I changed to Apple li had to turn down volume to 18 (on PLEX I had them on 32) - some songs are playing extremely loud and others play very quiet - I have been tried the Apple Soundcheck option but on or off does not seem to make a difference. music is played in my business so it extremely annoying having to change volume for every song - anybody had any similar experiences? Any ideas? Solutions? Thank you very much
Recently with the new app I have to go into the app to control the music. Used to have a quick way to do it with a drop down from the notification bar. How get back?
I would like to ask what will happen if I add a Sonos Sub Mini to my surround system ( Beam Gen 2 and two Sonos Era 100 speakers ) as far as I know the low frequencies go to the sub. If I use Trueplay to set up all the speakers and then decide to turn off only the sub using the toggle button from the app, what will happen?Does the system only remember the current Trueplay setting ( Beam Gen 2 / 2 x Era 100 / Sub Mini ) or when turning the sub-Mini off via the toggle button from the app the system will revert to “old” trueplay settings ( Beam Gen 2 / 2 x Era 100 ) and restore low frequencies to them.
when turning up the volume sliders in the app, the sliders are not responding properly, when I slide to increase the volume slider will move up and then back on it’s on. also there is a big delay when hitting the play buttons as well as pausing a track.
Since the new app update this month, the Pandora play modes (e.g. Deep Cuts, Discovery, etc) is not visible. Anyone know how to set that in Sonos, or did they eliminate it???
Conectar audio de TV LG sin salida audio optica a PlayBase Moderator edit:Google Translate-Connect audio from LG TV without optical audio output to PlayBase
I have contacted your support several times since may when you launched the new app version.Every time i get a real polite answer. We are working on this and it will be fixed en a couple of week. Now many “couple of weeks” have passed and absolutely nothing has been fixed. Actually ten “10” weeks.I still haven’t access to my music library (my primary source), cannot add to my playlists from other sources than Sonos own. it is a scandal and you (Sonos) have failed your customers to that extent. It's a mockery. I am now actively looking for a replacement for my Sonos, I simply have to have a more stable and reliable system.
Hi @Corry P / @Jamie A / @Sotiris C., so many issues with the new app and so many threads, that I don't know if this one has been discussed yet, so I would like to report it to be sure it’s on the backlog:I use Amazon Music and I listen mostly to their Stations. When I play an Album from Amazon Music or Live Station from Sonos Radio they correctly appear on the Recently Played. But, when I play an Amazon Music Station, it doesn't.In 16.1 and before it always appeared. Could you add it to the bug backlog, please? Thanks
What is the least expensive method to connect a Bang & Olufson beosound stage soundbar to a sonos play ONE OR a sonos Play:3. I know a Sonos port is an option but last I checked that device costs about $500. Thank you.
Any recommendations of what wall outlet plug to buy for charging Roam 2 via the USB-C to USB-C cable that comes with it? The only one I’m seeing on Sonos store is for the old prior gen Roam and USB–C to USB–A. I’m going to buy the charging kit too, but I also want to be able to plug it right into the wall as opposed to setting it on the charging stand.
I’ve just upgraded to the latest version of the Sonos app, v80.05.04, but now I can play any content services!I have 3 services connected including Deezer and BBC sounds, and I can search and select music or radio channels but whenever I actually try to select and play something from Deezer I get an error “something went wrong try again” but it never works. Have you considered getting people who actually enjoy listening to music to develop the app? It might be better if it was developed by individuals who actually enjoy listening to music and use the app.
I am aware of four articles so far about the epic failure of the new Sonos app:https://www.theverge.com/2024/5/14/24156703/sonos-app-redesign-new-ama-complaintshttps://www.theverge.com/2024/5/9/24152675/sonos-new-app-bad-reviews-response-statementhttps://www.wired.com/story/people-do-not-like-the-new-sonos-app/https://www.forbes.com/sites/jonathanreichental/2024/05/09/4-lessons-from-sonos-app-upgrade-fiasco/?sh=3fc057d656ad Anyone aware of any others?
We are looking to install a home audio system in our rental property for which we use as well. Looking for ceiling speakers (2-4) as well as outdoor speakers (2-4). Looking for a Recommendations on equipment. Thank you in advance.
I have three sets of ceiling speakers and each set have their own Sonos Amp.The first amp has the HDMI Arc coming from the TV and is connected to the front speakers near the TV.The second amp is connected to the rear speakers. I want these speakers to carry the surround sound. The third amp is connected to the outdoor speakers. Occasionally I want to use them to carry the same TV signal as the first amp. This would allow watching 2 TVs but the sound would be in synch with the living room TV.How do I configure this with the app?
When I google “worst app update of 2024”, you are the top hit in every country I have a VPN exit node for!It takes a very special kind of development effort and truly remarkable leadership for a consumer electronics manufacturer to achieve the coveted global #1 spot for any search, let alone one that is software related. SEO specialists around the world are jealous - well done.
