Hi, I’m about to bring Sonos into my Home Theatre and am getting a bit confused - help!

I can’t have rears as there is nowhere for them to go, so was looking at ceiling speakers above the seating position instead, but given the size of the room I’m now thinking it may be overkill…..and unnecessary hassle.

Soundbar + Sub + Era could be the way forward perhaps?

What would be the best sound solution for this sized room?

Arc or Beam Soundbar?

Era100 or Era300?  (They can sit next to the TV with no worries)

Would there be any benefit in ceiling speakers if I go Era300?  My ceilings are 2.4m (7.8ft).

If you want home theatre you need a soundbar - the Eras are not designed for tv input. With the multiple speakers in the Arc that’s the solution I’d go for, with a Sub or Mini to help out. You could use an Amp to drive in-ceiling speakers but I don’t think the extra cost and effort to install would be worthwhile.

There are wall mounts for the Eras if you have wall space, btw.

Putting extra speakers at the front will confuse your ears as sounds that should be coming from the rear will be coming from the front.

With your sized room a Beam and mini Sub should be decent, the ARC would be a nice upgrade with better ATMOS support and a wide stereo image.

I would also consider wall mounted, Era 100s would be enough for that space and have easier positioning requirements. 300s if you can position them will give better ATMOS support.
