I can’t figure out the best solution for new pool area. Speakers can be located under a hard roof pavilion so no exposure to sun/rain/snow but humidity can be significant in the summer. Pavilion has electric but is located about 100 feet from where I could place a Sonos Connect or Amp in my basement and wired to passive outdoor speakers. Is that too long of a run?Keep in mind I have existing passive outdoor speakers about 50 feet from other side of pool opposite pavilion. Those are on and below my deck with a short run (5-10 feet) just inside the foundation wall. Would the human ear notice a timing difference if playing music from both the pavilion (100 foot run) and deck (10 foot run)?
Is there a way to send the audio from my Android web browser to Sonos? I am using "Sonos Play:1" and "Sonos One" speakers.I listen to former broadcasts on "catch-up" radio and many of these are only available on the radio station’s own web site. Sometimes these former broadcasts are available as podcasts but most are not.For example: https://www.globalplayer.com/catchup/lbc/uk/46vyD81/ I seem to recall there was once an app that tried to play Andorid audio but is it still available? Is there another way to do this?
I have this set PC speakers with a great remote, it's just a dial that doubles as a button and it has almost the exact same set of functions as the touch controls on sonos products. But as a remote it just sits on the desk waiting for me to hit it, no having to pick up my phone etc etc… I had a quick look around and I see a couple of options for sonos remotes but curious to know what successes people have had, and also failures.Control for the sonos Five and Amp are what I'm most interested in.
Does anybody know what the upfiring drivers in the Arc do, (if anything), with a stereo or 5.1 signal?
I have an S1 system that I’d like to keep as S1 (x2 Play 1’s and a Connect) I now need a PlayBar and would prefer not to buy secondhand. If the refurbished PlayBar from Sonos ships with S2 then is it possible to revert to S1? Or, does it in fact ship with S1??Thank you in advance!! Steve
Hi all - I have a question regarding integrating my B&O system into my Sonos network.Currently I have a Sonos Playbar in my bedroom, and a Sonos Move in the Kitchen. I like being able to link them together to play music throughout my house. But in my living room, I have a B&O Beosound 9000 wired to B&O Beolab 8000 speakers. I’d love to be able to get these linked into the Sonos system somehow. I’ve been looking at Port and Amp and trying to figure out how that could work, but confused as to which product (if either) to buy, and how to connect them to the 8000/9000. My aim would be to have the B&O system function as if it was a Sonos product on my Sonos network - i.e. stream to it from my phone, link and de-link with the Move/Playbar, etc. Also, will the Move/Amp be able to auto power-on the B&O system and what adapters/cables do I need? Many thanks in advance!!
The most recent Sonos update means that I can no longer update my music library, which sits on a Windows 7 disk, and Sonos are no longer maintaining the Windows 7 app. I still have the library so I won’t do any more updating of my Sonos products but is there any other way that I can update the library given that I can’t rollback the update? (I do think it’s **** that Sonos can knacker my expensive system with updates. Apart from costing my pocket, it’s very wasteful of the Earth’s resources. There ought to be a law and soon there might be in the EU and UK.)
I’ve had my Move for about a month, its the 1st Sonos product I’ve owned, coming from the world of headphones and Hifi. I am confused by the lack of detail around the functionality of the Move. There does not seem to be a proper manual as such, makes it hard to understand how it works. I use the move mostly in 2 rooms. The second room does not have a charging loop and I’m not near the device when its in use. After playing music and stopping, after around 30 min, it goes into a stand-by stage. I’ve read a few other discussions on the topic, again seems odd we are asking each other how these things work and not referring to a manual that defines its functionality. I’ve been supplied a link to a document on the Sleep Mode -https://support.sonos.com/s/article/4828?language=en_US, 1st rep didn’t seem to know about it, second didn’t know about it until after factory reset, etc… I want to be able to resume playback after 30 min from the play button on top or the app. For now the play button d
All sorted now no need to respond thanks!
I've had a Beam in 5.1 configuration for a few years and recently upgraded to the ARC. I've noticed that the system is much louder in Dolby mode than PCM/LPCM. This is probably just down to the way Dolby is encoded. But in practice the experience is jarring when switching between sources - you find yourself reaching for the remote to adjust the volume as needed. It's especially apparent when flicking through Sky channels - some of them have a Dolby track and some don't. I'm also reading some people are also having issues with low volume LPCM on PS5.What might help here could be a background option/switch/slider, to automatically boost the volume when a TV PCM source is detected.
We had a Sansui s-x1200 driving a set of Cerwin Vega D9s growing up. I still have the Cerwin Vegas but I would like to find the Sansui for sentimental value. Anyone know where to find one in the USA? After buying my Sonos gear (Arc, Sub & Ones), it has really brought me back into a love of music. Refoaming the D9s and picked up an Amp to drive them. If I can find the Sansui, I think I’ll be forced to get a Port too lol.
Can’t figure this one out. I only get Stereo PCM from my Spectrum DVR and PS5 but I get Dolby 5.1 from my Apple TV.Setup: Older Samsung plasma TV capable of decoding Dolby 5.1 connected to the Arc via Sonos’ Toslink adapter to HDMI. Apple TV and PS5 connected via HDMI to an HDMI switch to the TV. Spectrum DVR connected directly to TV via HDMI. I have the Sonos Arc and two One SL’s for surround All devices are capable of decoding Dolby 5.1 yet I can only get Stereo PCM, not even Multichannel PCM, from PS5 and DVR. Apple TV is the only device coming in as Dolby 5.1. I’ve tried every setting I can find on both DVR and PS5 in terms of audio compression settings and nothing changes no matter what setting I use. My app is updated and I’ve read a few posts about Stereo and Multichannel PCM but nothing quite explains my situation.Even with Stereo PCM 2.0 coming up in the app, I’m still getting audio in the surrounds. Can anyone help me figure this out?
4 years ago I installed a playbase, woofer and 2 alexa-enabled Sonos Ones (1st gen) in my family room. Since in this configuration only one of the two sonos ones will respond to alexa, I think I will relocate one to my study and replace it in the family room with a speaker that is not voice-enabled. I have two questions: 1. what is the best choice of speaker to purchase to substitute the existing sonos one, and 2. Can I configure a single speaker in the study to play mono, or can it only be configured to play either left or right?TIA .... Greg
Hi.I have a Sonos Arc.The Speech enhancement function seems not working.I cannot hear any difference with it turned on or off.I asked some friends to check it in my home, too, and they also cannot hear any difference. What is the problem? My Sonos App is version 13.3.When I check for Arc soundbar updates it says it’s updated. What can I do?
Hi Everyone, I currently have a beam with two One SL set up as surround sound. I am looking to add a sub though am faced with a dilemma. I have two dumb speakers that were a gift from my father that I would like to also utilise. Given that a Sonos Amp is the same cost as a Sub, I am considering buying that instead and purchasing a 3rd party sub to go with it. Will the Sonos amp allow integration of the dumb speakers as front L+R giving me 5.1 surround? And will the 3rd party sub work as well in the system as a Sonos sub would? Has anyone got a similar set up? I assume using the 5.1 through the dumb speakers would prevent TruePlay, is that going to be noticeable? Am i better off just sticking with a purely Sonos set up as 3.1?Cheers,Lee
I purchased my Sonos a few months ago and it started making a blaring noise out of no where. It was so loud to a point it would wake us up in the middle of the night. After going back and forth with their support (I had to send video evidence). They agreed to ship me another unit. Since I had originally thrown away the box that came with it, I paid over $40 dollars to get it packaged by UPS. The return Unit I received came in a tattered box and was moving while in the box and they also did not ship the power supply which they were adamant that I ship back with them. I’m taken back at the way this was sent to me being that his is a $800 unit.
I am looking for a Brennan type machine that can rip CD’s to its own HD that I can then use in my SONOS system?
I’m stuck in a loop here. I have a group of 3 rooms. I want to adjust the volume in one of the rooms on the app, but I can’t. That group has “3 issues” meaning, 3 speakers that “need” to be updated. So when I click on the group it just takes me to the update screen. I try to run the update, it fails (code 30), now I’m stuck and can’t change the volume of the speaker. My only solution is to go into the room and manually adjust the speaker using buttons. It requires a ladder to reach this speaker. Am I to fetch the ladder each time I want to adjust the volume a few clicks? Seriously, this is very stupid for the price I paid for the product. I have 13+ products, not all in reachable places, and they are always complaining about being out of date. People say they’re not “forced” updates, but they are in the context that 80% of their features don’t work until you update them. The speaker is still usable if it’s hardwired to your TV and you use the buttons, but that entirely negate
Buon giorno…vorrei comprare delle casse da incasso a parete…vorrei sapere se sono Wi-Fi…
I have a Beam and 2 different symfonisk speakers (the frame and bookshelf) I have all three grouped together on the all but would love the ability to change the volume of all at once with the tv remote. The Beam is the connected to the tv so currently the volume only changes on the Beam. Is there a way to bond my 2 symfonisk speakers as a pair to be used as surrounds for my Beam? Would love an easy way to change volume at once for grouped speakers without having to use the app like using tv remote or when using the physical controls on a device. Since they’re grouped together it would be nice if the volume changes were grouped together not just in the app
Would like to ask if any suggestion on where to get a 90 Degree Up Angle Fiber Optic 2.1 HDMI Cable for new generation Beam as the maximum space allowed for the plug is only around 2 cm if flush mounted onto the wall.
Hi all -I’ve done a lot of research and read many articles, but still trying to figure out the best way to set up my home theatre surround sound. I purchased a LG HU810PW Cinebeam projector and will be displaying that on a 110 inch Aeon Elite Screen.I’m thinking of purchasing the following hardware for the surround sound:Sonos Arc Soundbar Sonos Subwoofer 2 Sonos SL speakersAdditionally - I don’t have cable or Direct TV. We have amazon firestick that I think I would just plug into the projector itself once I set all this up?Went to an electronic store and they said all those speakers should jsut be able to connect to projector via Bluetooth. Is this accurate? Want to make sure based on conflicting articles I’m reading before I purchase all of this stuff.-Dhrumil
Sorry in advance for the naive question. I just set up the Arc with a new OLED TV. The previous homeowner left two Bowers & Wilkins 4” 100W Satellite wired speakers mounted as rears. I’d prefer to not waste them and have to replace them with Sonos rears to create surround sound. Can I use the Amp to connect these rear wired speakers to my Arc for surround sound (after I add a Sub)?thank you
Is there a way to connect a Sonos Roam to 2 different WiFi systems? I have one WiFi at home and one at my cabin. I would like to be able to just take my roams up to the cabin and have them work there.
I have installed and uninstalled the S2 controller on my desktop multiple times...BUT it won’t work. The last time is a little better...I actually see the app open before it shuts down. The app works fine on my tablet and phones. Here are the error reports. It appears to me that it’s an app issueIs there a fix out there ??? I prefer to create my playlists from my stored files on the big screen & keyboard, rather than on the phone or tablet….HELP !!!!
