Hello All, I’d like to connect a DJ’s consol to my Sonos Arc.From consol I only have a chinch cables, how can I connect it?
Hi all, thanks in advance for any advice given. I’ve read other topics around turntables but not quite got the info I need. You will gather as you read my question that I’m not particularly tech savvy hence asking all you knowledgeable people out in the community 😊I bought a Beam 2, 2 x era 100 and a mini sub for my LG TV last month and am very happy with it; it sounds fantastic in my living room. In my kitchen I have my old stack system. A Pro-Ject RPM 1.3 Genie turntable, a Rotel RA-820B amp, cd player and tuner and 2 sets of Tannoy mercury F speakers attached via a switching box for 2 room playing. I’d like to add my turntable to the Sonos setup. The cd player, tuner and speakers are now obsolete with the purchase of the Sonos but I’d like to keep my LPs.My understanding is that my amp has a phono pre amp for the turntable (photo for info) the turntable doesn’t have its own pre amp. Therefore if I wanted to connect to the Sonos over my WiFi connection I’d need to buy a Sonos port a
I've got a stereo pair of play 3's downstairs not doing much anymore, just a bit of Spotify. What, if any, options do I have these days to send audio from portable devices? For example, watch a movie (think any of the numerous video streaming services available) on a phone, tablet, or laptop but have the audio output from the play 3 pair? So far it seems impossible without another device added to the mix. I have a play bar and sub upstairs, also a Move 2.Thank you kindly.
Hi all,I searched the forum for this but all the relevant threads were closed, so that’s why this new thread. With Sonos Ace it’s possible to listen to the tv through a compatible sound bar. I own the Beam (gen 1) so that shouldn’t be a problem. My question: will it be possible to listen to music through the Beam? Is it technically so different listening to the tv through the Beam than it is listening to music? Usually I listen to my library through 2 Play3’s en 1 Beam.My music library is on a Synology NAS
My set home theater set up was working fine with Sonos arc, two back speakers and the mini sub, working with my ps4.I connected my ps4 to internet (I don't know if it's related) and on the same day, the crackling noise started.I can see that many people have had that problem, going back 6 years ago!!Are you guys going to fix this? We've all paid good money to have good sound. And we don't.And I don't want to go through all the nonsense of "doing this, unplugging that, trying this or reset that…" I have set it up well, it was working, and now it's not.Make it work or give me a refund thanks.
I have read extensively on the Sonos Forum and elsewhere and am struggling for clarity on a fairly basic question: can a Sonos Sub be connected to a Sonos Amp via standard home WiFi or can it only be connected via the network that the Sonos Amp creates (unclear whether that is called Sonosnet or something else when it is 2.4GHZ or 5 GHZ but neither work for me as signals don’t reach far enough). My use case is pretty simple: I have an AV closet with multiple Sonos Amps are that are connected to ceiling speakers in multiple parts of the house. The subs for the rooms are too far away from the amps to connect via the proprietary Sonos network. I know this because if I put the subs next to the amps near the AV closet they connect and work fine. But when I move them to the relevant rooms they show up as Sub Not Connected. I do not have Ethernet ports to hardwire the subs in these rooms. So, is there a way to connect the Subs to the amps via WiFi? Is so, what settings do I need to mod
Hello,My dog ate the power cord of my Era 300. Could you please confirm that this is the right power cord?https://www.sonos.com/fr-fr/shop/angled-power-cableThank you in advance,
I have Sonos Beam (Gen 2) and two Sonos Era 300s as surrounds. I know that front-firing speakers are disabled when Era 300s are used as surrounds. However, in my case, only the outwards facing side speakers are playing. There is no sound coming from the inwards facing side speakers. I tried to remove and add surrounds in the app multiple times and it made no difference. When tried Dolby Atmos sound test (available in Dolby Atmos from Apple Music or Tidal), both left and right surround and left and right surround channels were played played by the same side-firing speakers of Era 300s.Do you have it the same?--Sorry, I meant both left and right surround and left and right REAR surround channels were played by the same side-firing speakers of Era 300s. Trying to listen via S1 App to Mixcloud content via my Sonos system. Can search Mixcloud OK but not getting any audio at all - I can listen via the Mixcloud site after listening to an ad.Is anybody else having this issue?
Hi everyone,I recently bought a Sonos Arc Ultra and noticed a small depression in the top center of the speaker grille, approximately where the led is located. It’s not visible in photos and can only be felt when I run my finger across it. Is this part of the design, or could it be a defect? I haven’t noticed any issues with sound quality, but I just want to be sure. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Thanks in advance!
I’ve been muddling through getting my local Mac music library accessible to Sonos (something I used with no issues for years before the App was improved). I have it working sometimes but also not working. Some of the tracks work exactly as they should, launched from the Sonos program on the Mac or from the App on my iPhone. Some of them fail from my Mac, but then work from the iPhone, and then also work from the Mac. Others pop a persistent error message of the form:Unable to play '<track name>.m4a' - cannot connect to /<HOSTNAME>/<DIRECTORY> because the server cannot be found. My music library is on an external disk mounted directly on my Mac which is sharing the filesystem (SMB enabled). I am trying to launch the music from the Sonos program on my Mac and also from two family iPhones. It seems bizarre that some tracks are just fine while others that in some cases are in the same subdirectory can not be played. Or perhaps, its that the server cannot be found for s

After updating the Sonos app on 4/9/25, Amazon Music will not play properly. Songs start and then quit playing or I get an error like ‘Song not encoded properly’. What is going on?? Why the continual problems with Sonos??! What can be done to fix this issue? I’ve already removed Amazon Music and then added it back -- no change, still skips or partial plays. Please fix this!!
I have a playbar and 2 move speakers that are connected separately. It’s a small rectangular den and the move speakers are in the back of the room behind the sofa, but they often drop the sound for a second but it happens repeatedly.I am looking to get 2 speakers that I can connect with the playbar for home theatre surround sound. (I also have a sub).Customer service told me that sonos 5, 1, 1SL, play 1, 3, 5 are compatible with the playbar.Which do you recommend?
I upgraded my Arc to an Arc Ultra over the weekend and I have a couple thoughts on how this process could possibly be improved. 1 - Allow quick setup for soundbar replacement - I would guess that it’s fairly common for a consumer to upgrade their soundbar while keeping the same sub and surround speakers. In this scenario, it would much appreciated if you could simply run a copy wizard to bring over all the setting from the previous theatre room (room name, TV setup, voice assistant, etc) as well as automatically recreate the dedicated connection to sub(s) and surround speakers. Since the room audio dynamics isn’t changing either, bring over the trueplay settings too. That’s assuming that trueplay, doesn’t depend on speakers involved but on room acoustics alone (or the room accoustics aspect could be saved separately so that you don’t have to wave your phone around again, the calculations are just redone). To clarify, I have no idea how often setups are soundbar replacement only, an
After a lengthy foray into Echo Speakers I’m returning to Sonos. Early set up is Beam Gen 2 in living room and 3 Era 100 (1 in Kitchen & 2 in dinning room), more will follow. Dining room doubles up as listening to music, light gaming and usually where drinks are consumed room. I need to be able to run TV, old CD player, old tape deck, Brennan B2 and Nintendo Switch. Would I be correct in thinking I can do this with a AV receiver using line out to Sonos adapter into one Era 100 and everything else fed through receiver. It seems to make sense in my head but wondering if I’m missing something obvious. I’m no audiophile so don't need ultimate anything - just access to above and Apple Music (subscription and library for ripped cd’s) and old tape collection. Thanks in advance.
Hi, I want some advice as I will be new on Sonos and sound systems. I just bought a big TV (OLED 77 G4) and I want to put a system for the TV. I’m thinkin on the ARC ULTRA + one sub + 2 rears. These are some of the doubts I do have:How worth it it is to move to Sub 4 instead of Sub Mini? How worth it it is to move from Era 100 to Era 300 as rears?Apart from that, I’m thinking on getting also a Move 2 for moving it around the rooms… Opinions on that device? And last but very important point… I want to get benefit of the sonos system with a turntable… so I’m doubting which is the best way to connect it to them…Options I’m thinking:Sonos Port + Any turntable A turntable with BluetoothAre there others? Which one do you think is the best one? I’m new on this and any experience advice will be highly appreciatedThanks!!!
SonosNet Channel is showing as an option in the Network settings on my Sonos app, but I’m not sure why. The reason I’m asking is that I’m trying to get to the bottom of why my app lags more than it used to. I have tried Sonos support and given them diagnostics, but after 1hr and 20mins on the phone to them nothing had improved and I’m none the wiser. They asked me to connect a speaker via Ethernet to create a SonosNet but that seemed to make the lag worse. I have since done a hard reset of all speakers, uninstalled and reinstalled the Sonos app on my iPhone. But the SonosNet channel still appears as an option. I have 5x Sonos Play 1 speakers and 2x Sonos One speakers in my system. All of them are showing as WifiMode1, so are connecting to my WiFi. I have an EE Smarthub router, with WiFi turned off and use a TP Link Deco X50 mesh system in AP mode. I have reserved the IP addresses for the Sonos speakers. I get a strong, stable and 70mbps+ WiFi signal from the mesh system in all the ro
Why, oh why does Sonos artificially limit use of two sub minis with ARC Ultra? Don’t bother with corporate line because I KNOW it works using 3rd party apps.
Will I ever be able to play songs (i.e., mp3s) stored directly on my phone to my SONOS system (without using a 3rd party app like Spotify, YouTube Music, etc.)?
Perhaps my biggest gripe with Sonos is how bad the integration with soundcloud is. Never mind the 100 track limitation on the likes but the music discovery part completely sucks. When can we expect a better integration
I really love my Sonos speaker system -- when it works! But nearly every time I try to use them, the system demands an update, which fails, and I cycle through resets, reboots, etc., for half an hour, give up, try again. This is extremely frustrating. I have a good wi-fi connection, a high quality router, reasonable tech skills, and none of my other products give me these problems.WTF?Please don’t instruct me on reboots, restarts, updates, etc. I could write the manual at this point. I’m just sick of having to take these steps, and have them fail repeatedly, every time I want to listen to music.Does anyone else encounter this constant frustration, and if so, are there other speaker systems you’ve used that are more reliable?
I have the following setups where I want to add the Sonos Sub1: TV + Arc2: Turntable + 2 Sonos Fiveis it posible to use the same sub when I play vinyls and later when I watch a movie too? Everything is in the same roomthanks!!
I am thoroughly disappointed to read that Sonos is abandoning the Streaming Box. This device is the gateway to wireless connectivity to Sonos Speakers and Soundars. It's not a direct alternative to Apple TV, Roku etc. Because those devices wouldn't enable wireless connectivity to Sonos Speakers and Soundbars. "Pinewood" is not just a Streaming Box, it's so much more. I have been waiting years for this device to be considered and when it finally is, it's abandoned. I am gutted. https://www.theverge.com/tech/628297/sonos-pinewood-streaming-box-canceled Sonos, please reconsider.
I am based in Japan and using a lot of Sonos products (ARC, Sub, ERA, etc).I would would like to request Sonos ARC to support MPEG-2 AAC.The reason is TV broadcast in Japan is using this encoding.Normally you set your TV HDMI output to the Sonos ARC to “AUTO” - which you would do if you want to receive various formats like Dolby atmos, etc - and leave it like that. The problem is when I switch to Japanese regular TV broadcast, no sound comes out of the Sonos ARC. I have to then switch my TV audio output to PCM to be able to hear the TV program sound..Hence throughout the day, I have to switch my TV output to PCM or AUTO back and forth which is an inconvenient thing to do, and I believe most if not all Japanese users also find it inconvenient. This makes the Sonos experience in “Japan” a lot less desirable compared to other Japan based manufacturers like Sony, etc. Hopefully this message reaches someone in Sonos to drive this change.
