First comes Roam, then Come Move, next is Wander, Stray, Range????? I was thinking something like the five x2 or the roam x2 or era 300 x2 in travel and weather proof form with 24hr batters and other goodies…

This makes no sense??? . What is the point of weather proof Five’s and Era 300’s with batteries? People already view those speakers as expensive and now you want to increase the price
You have the Move and Roam series. BTW...what is Wander, Stray, Range all about???
Potential names, I suspect.
At least in my mind, there’s a relationship between weight and portability. Which is why I suspect, unless there’s a substantial change in battery weights, we likely won’t see much of anything larger than a Move. They’d be too big and heavy with a battery included to be truly ‘portable’. And the fact that you can’t use Sonos portable speakers as surround speakers likely doesn’t help.
There’s a big market for large “party” speakers, cheap one are $200 but the average good quality is $500-800. Yes they are heavy, some even have wheels. Outdoors like on a boat or at the beach really soaks up the sound and more volume is needed.
Perhaps so, I’d certainly expect Sonos to be familiar with the size of the market for speakers like that. And be able to determine if they’re interested in entering that market.
Unfortunately, they usually don’t announce things until weeks before they start selling them, likely to not tip their hands to their competitors. We’ll have to wait and see.
