Just got the roam after a while trying to switch the thing on (not realising it needs to be set up in WiFi first . anyway all done it’s there in my app I can play Bluetooth now on the go . But how do I connect it tomy 2 play 5’s ? While the 5’s are playing i press play on the roam and it just plays what I was listening to previously on Bluetooth just need to know how to get all 3 speakers play the same thing  thanks 

Hello!  I’m looking to upgrade my Sonos-setup in my living room. My use: I mainly use my Apple TV to play music from Apple Music - I do not use Sonos built in feature for this. Other then that I look at series from Apple TV+, Netflix etc.  My setup in the living room today: Playbar + 2 Play:3 as surround speakers. This is connected to a Samsung Q70A-tv (2021) with an optical cable. The best solution: This would be just to get the Arc. Sadly, it seems to be pretty wide and I'm slightly worried that it wouldn't fit very good in my home. Alternative 1: Change my Playbar to Beam gen 2. How would the new Beam compare with my Playbar? Would I experience a huge improvement in sound quality and immersiveness with the Beam gen 2? Would Dolby Atmos work with the Beam gen 2 and the Play:3 as surround speakers?Alternative 2: Just add a Sub to my current setup? Would this be a more noticeable improvement than to change the Playbar? Thanks for all inputs!

I’m looking at expanding my Sonos system, with either a Roam or a Move speaker.I don’t want to hook up to Google or Apple, and want something that either doesn’t have a microphone or has the ability to disconnect or turn it off if it has one. Will either of these 2 speakers fit the bill?Also, it seem from the responses to my previous question, that I should be able to set this up independently from my other speakers. I’d like to be able to use this in the garage without inadvertently blasting the other speakers in the family room, so I’d prefer to set this up on its own system. 

 Hi.  I’ve just had an LG C1 series OLED TV wall-mounted on a full-motion bracket in my living room (see pictures below), and I have ordered a Sonos ARC to mounts below it — but I’m having second thoughts about my decisions.1) The TV is a little bigger than I’d like for the space (though we’re going to try watching a movie on it tonight for the first time so the jury will be out). My main reason for choosing the 55” instead of a 48” was that I wanted to get the best sound solution, and the Arc appeared to be the best product for home theater (and I love my Play:5’s).2) Doing some further reading, I suddenly realized that my very open, very TALL living room setting may not even allow me to enjoy all the benefits of an Arc sound bar, as I won’t get the vertical sound bouncing off my ceiling? I subscribed Amazon music, and evaluating Apple Music at the moment.In my living room I have 2 play:1 + Sub (gen 1) . I read a lot about streaming quality , and I wonder if to better use the improved quality of Amazon Hd or Apple lossless and Airplay 2 , the One will work better than the play :1 , or if both will be capped at the same level of bits/hzThanks !!Giovanni 

Hello , possible silly question , I'm thinking of getting a Panasonic ub820 player which has separate audio and video hdmi outs , would connecting audio out directly to beam and video out to tv work or would I still have to do a combined audio /video feed to beam via e/arc , also I'm aware that the first option would mean no TV audio through beam only blu ray , sorry a bit long winded , thanks

Hi,I've recently switched over to Sonos and purchased a Beam (Gen2) and two One SL's (for surround). Everything sounds good except in one scenario.When playing music through Spotify or any music/radio app through my NVIDIA Shield, the audio quality from the rear speakers is very inconsistent. It sounds as if the volume of the rear speakers is constantly adjusting based on what's currently playing. To me it sounds as if when there are vocals in a song, the rear speakers are trying to suppress the sound but it's failing to do so, resulting in a very muddy sound quality and also heavily fluctuates in volume while doing so. This is very noticeable and a bit annoying.When playing music through the Sonos app this doesn't happen.So it appears this issue only occurs when playing music in "tv mode”, i.e. through an external device which is my NVIDIA Shield in this case. Playing music natively through the Sonos app produces great quality and both surround modes (ambient and full) work fine.Is th

Looking at putting together a Sonos system for my loft area TV. Thinking of gen 2 sound bar, with sub woofer, 2 in wall speakers for surround and 2 ceiling speakers for rear surround. Does this make sense, if yes, what is needed to set up (obviously speakers, how many amps, other?), if not, what would best set up be?

Hi guys looking for a little help here. I have an old ZP 90 that has stopped working, I tried to do the upgrade and purchase a new port. I was halfway through the upgrade and had to leave the page before completing sale. When I logged back in to complete the purchase it showed that unit was already upgraded but I hadn’t completed order. I’m now trying to reorder and arrange delivery but can’t cancel previous upgrade and restart. I talked to someone in support who helped with another issue but couldn’t help with this order. I’ve called sales and also emailed them a week ago but still no luck. Today on trying to contact sales again Message says unavailable try support online! Cheers Shane 

Hi all,I quickly want to share my experience I have made over the weekend regarding my Sonos system playing songs from my NAS (Synology). I have setup the connection between the NAS and the Sonos system quite a while ago and have just used it seldomly. Now I wanted to play some songs again over last weekend and realized that the connection / integration did not work anymore. No clue since when it failed.I tried different options including deleting / recreating the connection, creation of new users on the NAS, changing the password of the users and so on. I found articles in the net giving me the hint to check that the NAS is set to support SMBv1; but this one was enabled.FINALLY I found one article that helped me to solve the issue: two main conditions are necessary to make it work again: SMBv1 must be supported / enabled and NTLMv1 (as authentication layer) needs to be enabled / supported as well. Why does Sonos not support the controller for Mac (or Windows for that matter).  All online help tells you how to do things on iOS or Android.  I use Controller on my Mac, and I find it very irritating that Sonos won’t provide any online support for computer users.

Hi,I am new to the Sonos ecosystem. I am using a Five with streaming and Line-in. On the Sonos app I find that at around 25% on the volume slider the sound is almost imperceptible.I’ve added the screenshot below. This makes it a bit annoying to adjust the volume because the I need to be on the upper end of the slider most of the time and it’s overly sensitive. Effectively I only use the right side of the slider.Is this the normal behavior? Can it be swapped to something more linear? Is there something wrong with my Sonos Five?Additional information:The issue is there for online sources too. Not just line in which I have tried adjusting with the source level settings.I have not set a volume limit.I tried the Loudness setting in EQ on and off. I am guessing this just gives a V profile EQ.Right now I can get around this for the Line-in by setting the Sonos volume to Max and using the hardware control of the device providing the input which is pretty linear but I am not sure if that is ide

Does anybody know how to or have experience in deciding how many speakers you need for a specific amount of room space. Speakers/square meter.I am deciding for our restaurant and would appreciate the help if someone has this experience of decision making.Thank you.

Hey everyone.  I am brand spanking new to using any Sonia components at all.  My father has his entire home, including a hifi Klipsch based HT set up with a connect and THREE outdoor zones (maybe 9 zones total. He’s AALLLLL in!) connected so I am not new to using Sonos.  Well, I’ve finally relented on my passion for only using wired hi-fi set ups exclusively.   I would now like to use a Connect gen 2 that i will be buying from an eBay seller to save a bit since I’m also buying 2-3 Sonos Ones.  MY QUESTION IS:  Does a Connect gen 2 work with Sonos’s most current app/ecosystem??Will it work with the S2 app??

I have a theater room now with a denon receiver / cd / phono. i would like to put 2 sonos speakers in kitchen. Be able to play simutanusly cd / phono and stream into denon.

Hi all , when I get my Sonos beam gen 2 and one SL speakers I'm going to use the trueplay , but my living room has the stairs in it , behind where I sit ! Will I need to go up the stairs a bit with the mic whilst tuning the Sonos ?? Thanks  

I have the Arc soundbar speaker and am waiting for my Sub (Gen 3) to arrive.  A friend of mine has the Beam soundbar speaker and uses two Sonos 5’s for his rear surround speakers but doesn’t have a sub.  I would like to know if surround speakers are required or recommended with my projected setup; Arc SL and Sub.  I think the Arc soundbar already sounds great but gets distorted during high bass or is “missing” some bass. I think the Sub will provide what I believe is missing in my future setup and the rear surrounds wouldn’t be necessary at all.  I’m looking for anyone’s thoughts on this.  Thanks for you let time and feedback, I appreciate it!

Hi all - so I have two of the newer Sonos 5 speakers tied together with a Gen 2 Sub and a soundbar.  From what I understand the 5s and the Soundbar will support the Qobuz 24bit streaming, but the Gen 2 Sub will not.  So my question - since they are all grouped together, will the two 5s still play 24 bit or will the sub bring it all down?

We have a new home and a few of the samsung tv’s are connnected to Sonos sound bars, which is nice because using the built in tv speaker doesn’t down great due to the cabinets/book cases the tv’s are in.It appears that the soundbar is connected to the tv via the single serial wire to a one connect box. The sound bar doesn’t have HDMI.  I am using a roku voice remote for the tv but i can only adjust sound via the Sonos app linked to the sound bar. Is there a way to bypass the Sonos app and system to just allow me to control the tv’s sound via the roku remote and only have sound come out of the soundbar (not the tv)?thanks for any suggestions!SM.

I just beginning to investigate taking the dive into the Sono world. I don't know if what I'd like to do will work and I'm looking for some advice. I'm thinking of using using a Samsung Frame that has it's "one connect box" connected to a Sonos AMP using eARC. The AMP and the one connect box are hidden in a cabinet across the room from the Frame TV with the extra long "one connect cable". The one connect box will have other HDMI devices plugged into it. The AMP would also be powering existing in-wall rear surround speakers.  Under the Samsung Frame would be a Beam (or Arc) sound bar. The sound bar I hope would just using wifi so there are no addition cables between the TV and the sound bar. Does it work like this? Can the AMP handle the eARC input from the TV and share it with the Beam/Arc soundbar wirelessly? I don't know a lot about how the Sonos ecosystem works, any insight would be greatly appreciated! I’m considering a 5.1 system driven by an Arc, with Amp providing in-ceiling surrounds and, possibly, subwoofer. I’d like to clarify some details that are unclear in the support articles.Here’s what I think is true:If the ceiling speakers are configured as surrounds, they cannot be used to play audio independently; but there is an option to play full volume through the Arc and the surrounds together (described here). I assume this works for all types of inputs (TV, AirPlay, internet audio). Per this article, it’s not possible for Amp to drive a subwoofer when its other speakers are used as surrounds. The only supported subwoofer in this configuration is the Sonos Sub. As long as the Arc and Amp are on the same network (I’m anticipating using ethernet), I can store the Amp in another room/closet and route the speaker wires to that location (despite the statement about line-of-sight here).
