Hello,My Sonos ARC’s center speaker has a lot of bass distortion (crackling during bass heavy scenes, when playing back any material that is lossless (Dolby TrueHD and Atmos (TrueHD) from a Blu ray player, LPCM from a blu ray player, etc.). Playing back lossy material in Atmos, Dolby digital, Dolby Digital+ (such as an Apple TV 4k), does not present the same issue (clean audio). This is something that I either haven’t noticed before (I bought the ARC back in August of this year), or most recently became an issue (maybe due to a firmware update?).All components are connected to my LG 55 CX model (set to PASSTHROUGH), eARC HDMI out to the ARC. I have power cycled all components, used different HDMI cords, checked that all components and TV have the latest firmware, etc. Any help would be much appreciated. since most of my watching is with lossless audio. Thank you.
Hi,I have 3 Sonos speakers: a Play:5 a Play:1 and a playbase. Last week I noticed there was an update available for my system, which I installed. After the update I have problems with the IOS controller. The play:5 and playbase are disappearing from the controller all the time and only the Play:1 is visible. This only happens on my iphone with the ios app. On android all speakers are visible all the time. Sometimes it helps to have the app scan for new devices, sometimes the speakers just reappear again after some time. It's pretty annoying as my iphone is my standard device.I've reset the app, deleted it and installed it again, restarted all speakers by unplugging them, shut down my router, reste the wifi etc but the problem still exists unfortunately. As it only happens on IOS it seems more like a problem with the ios controller than anything else…..
My eldest is getting to the age where they are able to use tablets, PCs etc. and is getting increasingly independent. They also have a Sonos speaker in their room which they use for podcasts and music. What I’d really like is an experience tailored to kids and parents:Limit the rooms that they can control (no having fun messing around with speakers in the office or other bedrooms). Limit the sources / filter adult content Curated Playlists / streaming services (e.g. Stories Podcast on Stitcher / Spotify)Another issue is that their Windows Tablet is in Windows S mode to prevent random installs, so we are unable to install the Sonos controller software as it is not available via the Windows Store. Is there any reason that the existing Sonos Controller cannot be made available in the store via Project Centennial / Desktop Bridge / MSIX Packaging Tool, or whatever the current iteration is?
HelloMy Beam (Gen2) arrived today (10/4/21). Here are my thoughts…Test Parameters Testing was done to compare the Arc and Beam-Gen2 as stand-alone speakers without surrounds and sub(s). My opinions are based upon my ears. There are no graphs or charts to show frequency response with peaks and valleys. In short this is not a Peter Pee review (for those of you familiar with his YouTube Chanel) . Just a plain good ol’ fashion End User opinion/experience. Sonos Original Setup: Arc + One x 2 + Sub x 2 Sonos Test Setup: Arc / Beam-Gen 2 TV: LG OLED 65in (165.1cm) with eARC Room Dimensions (L x W x H) 20ft (6.096m) x 13ft (3.9624m) x 8ft (2.4384m) Disc Player: Panasonic DP UB9000 Ultra HD Blu-Ray Disc: Justice League 4K Ultra HD / Disc1 / Part 2 Heros Sonos App Reported Sound: Dolby Atmos (True HD)SetupSetting up the Beam-Gen2 was simple, fast and easy. To date it was the best experience I’ve had with a Sonos product. The ease of setup IMO is in no small way due to the integration of NFC usi
I’ve configured my AMP in a home theater setup with B&W mains, the virtual center (of course), a Gallo Sub hardwired to the AMP, and dual Play 1 surrounds. Now I’m wondering what’s the best way to calibrate this mashup? Any ideas?
Hi all , I like listening to Big R radio 80s Rock via the internet , is it possible to get this to play on the Sonos beam ? I have an android phone .
I want to upgrade from my Bridge but I’m unsure of the component to buy. The bridge connects to a device to control all the speakers in the house. Which component should I upgrade to?
Hi AllCan the Sonos app put on and put off the device? Can the app switch from Bluetooth to wifi?
It seems as though Apple music playlists are no longer appearing in Sonos when indexing the library. After many hours of chat with Apple / Sonos it appears the reason is that Apple no longer generate the XML file required by Sonos to index the Library. It is unclear as to whether this is a result of my recent Monterey upgrade or not.The “iTunes Music Library.XML” ( you must have the spaces !! ) file can however be exported by Music / saved to your Sonos library index location and all should be fine, (although you’ll need to do this every time you change a playlist ) but importantly for us all is that Sonos clearly know this restriction to their offering but are not making to clear to all. Unless a fix is provided by Sonos, or you have the capability to generate XML files (many people will not), the Sonos APP is now in my view seriously compromised. It was bad enough when we lost the ability to play direct form our phones, but this is now even worse. I fear 3rd party APPs like Sonos

Bit late in the day, but we are looking at buying a refurbished Sonos Beam as a gift. My wife isnt to keen on buying second hand, but with the Black Friday discount it looks a good deal to me. What sort of visual condition are Sonos Refurbs, she would want it it more or less mint condition, I know they can be returned if your not happy, but to avoid all that faff i would appreciate it if anyone has any views or actually bought a refurbished Beam from Sonos Thanks
I had the latest Sonos app running fine on a Mac with Big Sur. I upgraded to Monterey (12.0.1) and there are permission issues that cause mp3 files not to be found by the indexer. On initially installing the app, I granted it access as requested. Afterwards I found that the permissions on individual mp3 files now had permissions including “SONOSDMS1. Custom” When I ad new mp3’s to my music folder, Sonos won’t index them.If I go into Terminal, cd to the top music folder, and do sudo chmod -R ugo+rwx *and then try indexing again, the files are found. I’d like to do something a bit more specific than granting world rwx access. Does anyone know what the permission is that SONOSDMS1 wants to see on files? Again, this is something new after installing Sonos on Monterey, didn’t happen on Big Sur and earlier OSX releases.
Hi Together, Before posting this question i seaarched the forum but did not find the correct answer, so might be a repost but please go through it and suggest me. I bought a Sonos Playbase, currently i have a Benq projector which is connected to Apple 4K TV (box), so not using any TV. When i tried to setup the Playbase, i am not able to do it, because, as i understood, i should also connect the Optical cable to some TV, otherwise i can not setup the Playbase. As i dont have the TV, i am not ablr to do it at the moment. If i buy a Coaxial to Optical switch/convertor, is it possible to setup my playbase without having a TV?.

Soit 6 enceintes.C'est la première fois que je pose une question sur un forum, je remercie d'avance ceux qui voudront bien m'aider Ryvale.
I’m trying to figure out how to configure a Sonos system in my dads pole barn. He is older and the current denon Avr receiver just confuses him too much. He has 4 speakers inside the pole barn and 2 speakers outside. He can currently choose whether or not to have the outside speakers on or not (multi zone). What would be the best setup to get him going on Sonos?
Does anyone know of any way to lengthen the allowed time limit to make individual room volume adjustments??? System gives you approx 3 seconds to make adjustment and so you have to keep going back and forth to consider changing different room settings. Thanks!
