It was great to have a speaker without a mic 

Wanted to add another request to add the ability to use a pair of Sonos roams as surround speakers for Sonos beam gen 2 or any other bar.I think all Sonos owners who use this feature would be capable of enabling / disabling the feature manually without any software changes.I have seen suggested elsewhere that a good option could be the roams could enter surround mode when placed on charge if that is desired. 

I’ve been putting this off since the dreaded upgrade that got rid of my TimeCapsule on Sonos, Ive only been streaming since. I would like to access my local music library again. What are my best options?NAS, if so a good value one; music files are less than 2TBor USB into router - I am planning an upgrade on my broadband so will be flexible with provider that gives best router compatible with a USB/Sonos situation. If this is a good option, advice on a good USB drive/stick. Thanks 

Have a Beam + 2 x one SL acting as surround sound speakers + sub set up as 1 room connected to a Samsung TV via HDMI cable to ARC on TV & would like to add a further pair of one SL currently set up as additional room to the room containing the Beam etc. to enable all 6 speakers to be controlled by the TV remote - the TV remote currently only controls the volume on the Beam/surround/sub speakers Is it possible?

Hi Sonos family. Recently added gen3 sub to my collection. Running two subs now. Any advice on the best placement. Two either side of tv or horizontal? Any tweaking ideas to get the best sound possible? 

Hello, I was wondering i could get a little advice please.I previously had a Sonos playbar, set up with a optical cable that connected to an audio splitter box. On this box it has 3 hdmi inputs & 1 hdmi output. The PS5, media device & bluray player are the hdmi inputs - with the singular out put being a 4k epson projector. This set up has worked for me thus far with no issue with being able to change the hdmi’s whilst still having audio being sent to the playbar & associated sound surround. I must mention that the Optical cable is around 10-12m in length as its currently ran neatly around the room from place(soundbar) to place (projector).Now i have changed over to the Sonos Arc, I am a little perplexed as to how to proceed & would appreciate any advice available. Is there a way i can have the Sonos Arc connected to my already neatly ran optical cable & associated audio splitter box ? Am i best running a fresh HDMI cable from the Sonos Arc? But, if so - would i need

Good morning. Have a couple questions on placement in my new apartment and my speaker choices. I was recently blessed to have been gifted four era 300 to me by my employer.  (I know.  Lucky me!).  Anyway, I’d like to use these as music and theater set up. I was originally gonna put that two in the living room and then one each space throughout possibly the bedrooms?  Reading through some posts on this forum I’m getting kind of confused.  I’m even thinking of selling twoof the era 300s that I have and getting either a beam two and a sub, or just an arc sound bar. Any insight or help I’d appreciate it thanks guys. Or if there are any other articles in the community to point me in the direction that would be great. I will send you a picture of my layout of my apartment.  I have 2 of the Era 300’s set up in my living room currently and they sound unreal!!   

Hi Sonos Crew -I need some advice/help..?  I recently purchased 2 Wet Sounds VS-8 outdoor wall speakers for my backyard. I have them powered by a Sonos Amp from inside my house.  They are incredibly clear and loud.  Bass is pretty good, but I feel like they are overpowered but the horn loaded compression driver.  Still the best outdoor speakers I’ve owned.  So these face our pool area from the back of our house.    My issue is with the next set up.  I plan to install 3 Wet Sounds VS-6 in some large planter boxes we have surrounding our pool. This will be powered by a 2nd Sonos amp for pool area (so not the same amp that connects to outdoor wall VS-8 speakers). I will also have at least 1 of the 12 inch Wet Sounds outdoor subs buried in 1 of the planter boxes. Currently I have one VS-6 and one sub set up for a test trial. I feel like the sub just isn’t getting enough juice to really make it thump.  I’m thinking of buying another a 3rd Sonos Amp just to power the sub.  As of now I have a

Hi Everyone,Firstly I appreciate all your time in helping me figure out my system!To start, I will list the gear I have in this setup:Sonos Play1 (two) for left and right speaker surround sound Sonos Beam Gen1 directly under my TV  Sonos Connect Gen2 which connects to a basic record player from a company called U-Turn Audio, it does have a built in preamp that is usually switched on to strengthen the signal otherwise the volume level is quite low when a record is playingFirst question is with regards to an ethernet connection: does anything need to be connected to ethernet? All of a sudden, on my last “update music library”  I get that an unexpected error occurred trying to import playlists.  The music that was recently added is there.  I have tried to read the various posts, but cannot figure out what I should actually do.  Never had this problem before, including when there used to be a problem with the new software finding the music on my Mac Studio.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,I have 5 pairs of sonos in ceiling/wall speakers connected to 5 sonos amps. What would be best configuration to create a surround experience in a room? Happy to add one or two sonos gen 3 subs to the system and add one or two sonos fives if that helps achieving high quality 3D spatial audio. I would like to not add a soundbar if possible.Could I even use more than two pairs of in-ceiling/in-wall speakers in one room as a surround setup? I have read entries about 4.1 or 4.2 setups by using a pair of sonos in-walls as front left and right and another pair as surround left and right -- utilizing only two pairs in one room. If I can use more than two pairs, could I add 3 pairs as front left and right and 2 pairs as surround left and right? Is Sonos planning to support a richer surround configuration experience? Is their lack of support a product/marketing strategy to prioritize selling their sonos eras and soundbars or is there a technical challenge they are not able to pass with the cu

I don’t see anywhere on sonos mac os desktop app where i can select pre designed groups.  i see it on the ios apps but not the mac os.  can you see them on mac os. i can’t even see where i could edit or creat groups on mac os

Longtime Sonos user that is looking to upgrade their setup. I currently use Sonos mostly for music, but have been eyeing an upgrade to my setup for a while now.My main space is pretty much open floor plan. I have a great room with 15 foot ceilings, and behind it we have our dining table. Our current audio comes from a Sonos Move and an old Sonos 1 in the kitchen.I am looking to upgrade the sound experience in the Great Room for music listening and the TV experience. I am initially thinking of replacing the Move with a Sonos Arc. I can place the Move somewhere else on the first floor. I could also look into doing the Arc + 2 Era 100's on stands behind the couch. Just not sure that my wife will go for it "aesthetically" since the dining table is already in pretty close proximity to the couch.My photos attached show the Great Room, and my floor plan. Hi everyone, I have never used a sonos product before but wondering if to invest in these with them being released so long ago? From my understanding they should all work with the s2 sonos app? 3 x Sonos Play 1s (nearly new - £225 for all)1 x Sonos play 5 (nearly new £240)  I am very aware these are old products so want to make sure it is not money down the drain on a system which will be infuriating to use due to the age or anything to be aware of which will catch me out ? I currently have a Denon system but it is only a 2.0. My plan is to potentially use the play 5 in the living room just for music when I have the other speakers playing in other rooms. Or I could just get another play 1 when one pops up in the used market in good condition .  Have seen some WiFi issues reported on thr play 5 also which makes me a bit cautious. Are they good value at this price point? Appreciate any help! Thanks

I am on the fence about getting a Sonos system.  I’ve read reviews where users are having speakers disconnect from the system, they are not found, or random volume control issues.Is this still happening, as of July 2025?

Good morning everyone, I am writing from Italy, Rome.It is a pleasure to read your comments, I have noticed many experts in the community!I would like some advice: I have a complete Sonos system with all the latest updates, but since I am changing the furniture I have a doubt about the positioning of the Sonos Arc. What is the recommended/correct height from the floor? Currently it is 53.5 cm from the floor, but with the new furniture I would reach 57.5 cm from the floor, but I can change the dimensions of the new furniture (I still have time to do so because it is in progress!).Thank you very much for the precious advice...Greetings to all.

Hello. I am about to purchase my first Sonos system, after years of high end, old style equipment.  I could really use some input from sonos users in chosing between a pair of 5s or era 300s.My music is classical 75% and oldies rock 25%.I have a moderate to large room.My wife does not like the volume too loud, so I would say our volume is moderate: neither background nor conversation killer.My main reason for diving into sonos: while my system is extremely accurate, whenever I encounter that wide open sonos sound stage I really like it. I am also tired of ongoing speaker placement efforts to image well and put me in rhat sweet spot. So I'd sacrifice a bit of accuracy for a big soundstage.Based on the above would you advise me to  look at a pair of 5s or  era 300s? Thanks in advance for your replies.
