Speakers

Hi,I am getting deeper and deeper into the Sonos ecosystem. I now want a better speaker for stereo audio, and have decided on a pair of Era 300s.I was wondering what the best placement for the speakers would be. In the old hifi days, the speakers would be at the height you would be, in listening position, slightly toed in, x cm from the wall, x cm from the corner etc. I know trueplay is designed  to compensate for poor placement, but if I start with the speakers as well placed as possible, there will be less work for trueplay to do, Thanks.

I have a two ones, a beam gen 1 and a move gen 1. would adding a connect gen 2 improve my sound quality? 

My setup:LG 65” OLED (OLED65C3AUA.AUS) Sonos Arc SL  No other devices plugged in to TV  HDMI plugged in to port 2 in TV (e-arc/arc port)  Audio output: “HDMI Arc” with so sound options available (all greyed out on TV)My problem: Sound will stop working after 20-30 minutes. Absoutely no input change, volume change, or app change. Sound goes from working perfectly to being silent. Very frustrating. I unplug/re-plug the power and the HDMI several times and then it works again. What I’ve tried: I bought a new, high-quality HDMI cable and the problem persists, so I am back to the Sonos-included cable. When the sound goes off, the Arc is still on, and the sound still works on the Arc (when I physcially presst he volume buttons in makes the thumping sound) and the led turns on. I have updated the firmware on both the TV and the Sonos, and I have checked the plug connections a million times. Anyways, this is a brand new tv and this is extremely frustrating. I currently have a the large Gen 1 sub, a set sound bar, and a set of surrounds. I also have several bookshelf speaker though my home. I do have at least 1 Gen 3 product, the Era 100. I am wanting to add a sub mini to my system to place in another room. I know that you can add a second sub to a home theatre set up. That is not my goal. I just want more bass in another area of my home when I play something on all of speakers. Is this possible? Further more if I one day add another theater set up to my bedroom will I be all to the second sub for that?

I have a local network that has “smart connect”, meaning that the Wi-Fi SSID (and password) is the same for both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. A device, if 5GHz-capable, will connect to the 5GHz Wi-Fi by default.The problem seems to be that my phone, which is 5GHz-capable, will always connect to the 5GHz network, with no option to alternatively select the 2.4Ghz network.When this happens, attempting to add a new Play:1 (2.4GHz only) using the Sonos Android app will hang and never complete, I am assuming, due to the fact that my phone is on the 5GHz network.Disabling “smart connect” and naming the 2.4GHz network differently than the 5GHz network so that I can explicitly connect to that radio will be too disruptive to my IoT devices and everything else in my home that uses Wi-Fi. I do not have access to a device with only a 2.4GHz radio that I can use to configure the speaker either.Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, when did this become so difficult, Sonos? I would like to install Era 300 speakers on the wall as high if possible. Question is what is the ideal distance from the ceiling the speaker should be installed to work properly. Also I was thinking of getting the outlet and putting the speakers (Sonos mount) right in front of the outlet so it covers the outlet. How have you installed? Is there another better way? I am thinking of installing an arc, two speaker combo and 3rd gen sub in movie media room. (17by18 room) And I am thinking two speakers for outside area where the bar, seating and game room is.  What is the ideal distance from ceiling I should install? Will it be different for media room then open area. Please advice. Or pictures would help. 

I set my Era 100 to 30% Autoplay Volume. When I start my Chromebox at night, it connects automatically, and the volume is set to 30%.On the next morning, I want to listen to (quiet) music when I’m working. I select a station and select the speaker (SONOS Büro); the volume is still at 30% (picture 1).I change the volume to 2% and click on “Play” (picture 2).The speaker starts playing, but on 30% (picture 3)! This can only be a bug. To update a preexisting topic (because it is now closed to comments). There is an excellent utility program available which allows the synchronization of playlists between S1 & S2 Sonos systems...  I have just installed this and for the first time in many years I have synchronicity! I am happy to recommend this very useful and quite intuitive to use little program. It does only run on PC's (not android) however.

Hi there. I just got 2 Ones and a sub Mini and when I stereo pair the ones, and then add the sub mini to the system, the music only plays out of 1 of the ones and not the sub either. But if I remove it all, the sub works perfectly with 1 one. I tried resetting everything to “start over” and I have the same problem. Any recommendations? 

Is it possible to replace the power cable on a Play 5 Gen 2 ?  The current cable is cracked. Thanks

(system setup description below).Fairly recently (few months) I started having issues with my system. Basically a device starts pausing, then playing, then pausing. The pauses start being a few seconds every hour or so, but become longer and more frequent until eventually the device is just silent.This happens whether playing music from a file share, streaming from Spotify or Apple Music or playing Radio.This happens to any one of the devices. The only requirement is that it's left playing until it falls over.The only way to resolve the issue is to power cycle it.It is a daily occurence that one device needs to be power cycled.If any support are reading (hopefully not as it’s the weekend!) I have seen a lot posted on this but never an answer that works.  I have two speakers in different rooms that I would like to group.The group function in settings is greyed out if you only have two rooms so that is not an optionI can group the speakers by pulling up the system and hitting the little square with an arrow next to the room I want to pair.  However, I have to do that everytime I use the system.  I listen to albums, so every time one side of an album finishes, the speakers disconnect.  I flip the record, start the record, and then have to go into the app again to connect the rooms. This is annoying. How can I group the two speakers so I do not have to constantly go into the app and reconnect them every time a side of an album finishes?

Hello,I love my Sonos speakers, I own six of them and I plan on adding more.   Whenever I listen to some music or TuneIn radio station it is always on the Everywhere group.   I love how the synchronization is just perfect and that I can move from room to room without ever losing a single note.There is however one thing that I find a little annoying.  Since there is no normalization of volume there is often cases where I need to increase of lower it.  It’s unpleasant to have to pull out the phone, unlock it, launch the sonos app and change the volume level.What would be perfect is have an option to “link the volume controls” on the “Everywhere” group an all other group that we create.   With such a feature enabled I could increase/decrease the volume with the buttons or voice control on any of the speakers in the group and it would be adjusted on all of them just like it does with the volume slider in the app.    

I am resetting up a pair of Sonos One Speakers. I have reset them and they are connected to my wifi network. However, my phone does not show them in Bluetooth mode. What am I doing wrong

My Sonos PLay:3 gen 1 keeps failing the update process.  The speaker has been reset multiple times, deleted and reinstalled S2 app, connected directly to my router with ethernet cable and nothing works.    Update keeps failing no matter what I do.  I’ve bought and added other gen 1 Play:3 speakers to my S2 system, but this one will not update.    Any ideas or thoughts? 

I recently changed internet providers. I have 2 speakers and I can only get one of them to connect. How do I get the other one to connect. When I plug it in, the light just keeps flashing orange.

I have a pair of Ikea/Sonos Symfonisk speakers that were working fine until recently. Now they will not connect my android phone Music Library via WiFi with the current S2 version app.  I read online that S2 does not support WiFi connection to a local Music Library any longer, just to music services; is that true?  I’ve tried to connect via bluetooth with no luck and I don;t see that the (2021) Ikea/Sonos Symfonisk speakers have bluetooth capability.Can I still connect IKEA/Sonos to V1 app? How do I roll back to V1?

This oval patch has recently appeared on the front 🤔 has anyone else seen something similar?

 When using my era 300 in bluetooth mode, every minute or two the audio will briefly pause for a few seconds, then resume.Anyone know of a fix?

We have been using Sonos for 8 years now. We started with Play 1 and Play 5. At the moment we have about 10 Sonos devices, Move and play one mostly. Last year has been awful, disconnects, app wont see all devices etc. For the last two months it seems updates fails and need to be tried three to four times before they applies. We have a solid Wifi with two Unifi APs. Three sonos play one are connected using ethernet, rest is wifi.Any idea before I replace it with something else?

I have a pair of era 300 speakers. When i connect to them with bluetooth no sound comes out. Tried with several different devices both apple and android. You can see through the sonos app it shows connected on bluetooth. The sound is playing on my device. The speakers just wont relay the sound. They worked fine at the beginning. Then it got harder to get them to play. I would have to connect and reconnect. Then it would work again. Then it got worse. I had to repair them. Now no mater what i do the sound will not go through. Works fine on wifi but will not work on bluetooth at all. Tried with friends phones and same thing. They connect but will not play sound.  

I have just been given the gen1 Play:5 from my father, as he bought it new, used it once and it has been in a cupboard ever since, he’s moving house and he gave it to me as he didn’t use it. I have tried to set it up using the Sonos S1 app and it comes up when i go to set it up but when i press the volume up button and the mute button at the same time when prompted, the chime plays and nothing happens on the app, what can be done about this? I can’t find anything online.

why is "home screen volume control" disabled?Can't there be a hint shown why the control is disabled instead of having the user browse in forums for the reason?

Connection with optical digital cable from my Hisense smart TV to Sonos Ray and keep getting massage "no signal detected". What else can I do?
