inverting Era 300 in bracket

Hello , I have read previous threads that if you are mounting era 300 speakers with the bracket you need to invert it to fully optimise the driver functionality. So can someone please advise what best practice is with the bracket ? If I invert the bracket with the flat plate part over the top of the speaker the speaker falls out of the bracket as it’s almost like a skeleton keyhole . Do people do anything in particular to the bracket when they invert the speaker

2008 speaker to join system after i moved it to a different room

My 2008 speaker worked fine until I bought a Sonos 100 and changed the location of the old speaker. I want new speaker in LR because sound is better. I can’t get the 2008 speaker to connect. When plugged in I get a. White light. When I hit two buttons together i get a flashing yellow light up set up tells me it can’t connect. Any suggestions?

Era 100 pair + Sub Mini vs Five pair

I was wondering if anyone had direct experience with these two set ups. My room is 12 x 20 with cathedral ceilings. The era 100 sub mini set up is currently running in this room and sounds very good. I do wonder if a pair of fives would be an even better set up. Has anyone done this comparison?

Can't connect my Sonos One to wifi

I moved my Sonos One to a new room. When I tried to set it up, it wouldn't connect to WiFi. Nothing else has changed. I can connect it via Ethernet. When I try to switch it to WiFi, the first thing the app does is tell me to disconnect the Ethernet cable, so I just get stuck back in the same loop. All guides say I should be able to switch to WiFi with the ethernet cable still connected, but this is not the case is reality. I've spent over 5 hours speaking to customer support and they start from scratch each time and then I get nowhere. My latest call I was in the queue for an hour, on the call for half an hour, and then the agent went silent as soon as I got to the point of having to disconnect the Ethernet cable, then the call ended! Edit: just to add things I've also tried which haven't worked: factory reset speaker, reset app, rebooted router, set up a mobile hotspot which also didn't work which shows the problem is with the speaker

Which speak to pair my Gen3 Sub to?

I’ve recently bought a Ray, a Gen 3 Sub, 2 x Eras 100 (configured as stereo pair) and a Five. Half the time I listen to music and the other half I watch TV. When watching TV, most of the time, I will use just the Ray and Sub. The other speakers are positioned for music. If I put a film on I may temporarily move the Eras and use them for rear surround sound. Currently, I have the sub paired with the Ray so that it works, whether I’m watching TV or listening to music. It was paired with the Five, but whenever I watch TV, I had to re-pair it to the Ray. Does it matter which speaker I pair the Sub with? What is best to get optimum sound quality? Also, if I did want to use the Eras for rear surrounds, would I do this, but going into the config screen for the Ray and adding them as paired device there? Thanks in advance!

Pairing or combining Era 300 with 2 Roams

Dear Folks, I am using 2 Roams as a stereo pair right now. Can an Era 300 be paired with them, for use all in the same room ? If so what aesthetic benefit might there be ? ( application is not HT , just living room listening ) Thanks, Garrett

sub mini

I installed a sub mini with 2 era 100s. I can’t hear any difference with the sub on or off. I called tech support, they were very polite but and they said everything is connected correctly and working correctly. I have used sub woofers for decades. They sound great…I can’t believe Sonos would put out a product that you can’t tell a difference whether it’s on or not. I think there’s something wrong. When the unit initially booted you could hear the sound very distinctly. I have tried multiple musics types and no difference. Any suggestions??

Are there any line in adapter alternatives apart from the one Sonos provides?

TuneIn pauses for 10s during playing each song

Hello. When playing radios through TuneIn app, in almost every song, there's a 10s pause and TuneIn commercial is thrown in. Just the voice says: TuneIn, and the song carries away. Any help how to remove it? Thanks.

Sonos Play 5 Gen 1 repairs

I have a Play 5 Gen 1, dead no Led’s. I have opened the the device and removed the PCB, the Bridge rectifier, fuse and 2 large cap all tested fine and the caps have an acceptable ESR which appears to be a common problem with other Play 5 posts I have read. I have no 12 or 24v supply and the SMPS is pulsing and I therefore believe that this my issue, I have also removed and tested both the Mosfet and the Dual Diode but both are fine but did found a direct short on Cap C27850 which I damaged when removing but the short across the pads remains so it not a shorted cap…..does anyone have the values of this cap as I can't measure it now and could you offer any advice regarding this fault? I have 326v at the two large caps C27866 & C27848 A Pulsing voltage of 10 - 17v at the 100uf 25v cap C2754 At 2QS02G Pin 7 Pulsing voltage od 0 - 6.4v Pin 5 Pulsing Voltage of 4.3 - 4.4v Regards David Moderation Edit: Combined two posts I’m attempting to repair my Play 5 Gen one and found the Mosfet TSC08N7

Poor Audio Quality over USB on iMac > Optical > HDMI > Beam Gen 2

Hi, I have the following setup: USB-C port on a 2020 Apple iMac 27” > Douk Audio USB to TOSLINK Audio Adapter (supporting 44.1K-192KHz/16-24Bit sampling) > Sonos Optical Audio Adapter (Optical to HDMI) > Sonos HDMI Cable > Sonos Beam Gen 2 It does work, but the sound quality takes a big hit somewhere in the chain. The sound quality is much better when streaming wirelessly from Spotify versus listening via the above setup (TV Mode on Sonos). Does anyone know why? Is there a solution? Please do not suggest using Airplay. I created the same setup as above with a Bose Smart Soundbar 300 minus the HDMI part since it has built-in TOSLINK input and the sound quality was NOT affected unlike Sonos.

Bluetooth with Roam SL

I have one Sonos One SL, and one Sonos One speaker. I recently got a bluetooth enabled turntable. Clearly, I would love to use these speakers but they are wifi speakers and not compatible with the turntable. I am looking at the Roam SL. I do see it is bluetooth compatible. I do see I can group it with my other speakers. I understand they would all have to be on the same wifi. But would the Roam SL allow my One SL speakers to play the bluetooth from my turntable?

Alarm not connecting

We seem to have a regular, but not constant, prolem with the alarm not connecting. Instead of radio we get the chime. It seems to happen most but not all mornings. I’ve noticed that if I stop the alarm, with the play/pause button , and then press the play/pause again immediately, the light flashes white 12 times and then flashes orange three times and then the set radio channel will start to play. This behaviour seems consistent. Tried resetting the unit ( a Symfonisk) and that might seem to help for a day or two, then it starts to misbehave again.. Other times it might go for weeks working normally. Diagnostic 1807590213 Any suggestions welcome Moderator edit: combined posts: EDIT - I’d just like to add that when I searched for this topic, nothing came up but now I’ve posted it I’m being shown lots of similar topics. Some problem with the search engine? Have read the other posts, all seem to describe similar issues so will try some of the suggestions

my connect amp is blowing the fuse in plug

Hi I have a number of amps all working fine bar one which has blown a fuse. Replaced fuse in the plug and it blew that one. Any ideas or do I just send it back? thanks.

Use of Era 100 away from wifi

Once set up on WiFi at home, can Era 100s be used with Bluetooth only away from home? I’d like to take to a child’s party location where there is no WiFi accessible. Can two still be paired or does that rely on them communicating over WiFi? Thanks

sub without arc

Can I use the Sub without the Arc (ordered both but only sub has come and I’m impatient). In other words, can the sub add bass to the projector speakers without having the Arc installed.

Every time I try to retune my Era 100 after moving it in the room I get a message “something went wrong. We are unable to custom tune your Era 100. Please try again.” I try but to no avail. Any suggestions?

Play 3s flashing Amber but won't reset

I have 2 x sonos play 3 and neither of them will factory reset. Both were working last week, both software updated last week. But I changed wifi networks and neither would connect, so I tried to factory reset both. They both flash amber but will not go any further in the process. I've tried many times and even left them unplugged for 24 hours but still no go! I see others have had this same issue, but I don't see any resolutions

Using an Amazon Echo with Sonons - which speaker?

Some advice please. Apologies if this is a bit noobie but…. I want to add some reasonable quality stereo audio to my living room. My main hi-fi is in another room and it is not feasible to set it up in the living room, due to space and wiring considerations. So I am looking at Sonos, probably a linked pair of Sonos Ones. I already have an Amazon Echo in the room. Given that I am wondering if the best choice is a pair of Sonos One SLs, controlled via Echo/Alexa, that is, is there any benefit in going for the Gen2 over a pair of SLs? My understanding is that the basic speaker is the same but the Gen2 has microphone and smart speaker capability which presumably I don't need. Is that right? I already have the IKEA-badged SONOS speaker (in a third room) which seems to play well with Alexa (I find the Sonos app a bit flaky). Mos of the audio will be live radio or streamed from my audio collection that lives on a connected NAS drive. Also - nice to have - how feasible is it to put the sound f
