eceived an upgrade recently. From super hub 2 to a new super hub 3. I have a Sonos Bridge plugged into the super hub 3 via Ethernet. Ever since getting the super hub 3, my sonos network drops out after a certain time of not being used. The Virgin WiFi continues to work fine. But the sonos network seems to just disappear. If I unplug the Bridge Ethernet cable and plug it back in the sonos network returns immediately. It then stays active and works fine until I stop using sonos for 2-3 hours at which point the problem recurs. Any help appreciated. Ami
Hello all, I am thinking about buying a Sonos Play:1. Now I just I would order one and start listening....but they're sold out everywhere (in Holland that is). So now I am reading countless reviews just because I have some extra time ( 😉 )....and thinking what would be the best thing to do. Is there a big difference between a Sonos Play:1 and the bigger Play:3 ? Main usage would be in my living room (30m2) streaming from my Synology NAS and Internet Radio. I've got an Ultimate Ears Boombox as well, but don't like the size and the Bluetooth dropouts. Also I think i'll love the connectivity from Sonos. What do you guys think?
I love the Group feature of Sonos but having to use a PC/Tablet/Phone to set up a group or add/remove devices from a Group is a bit overkill. Would it be possible to add the Group feature to the play/pause button using a "long press"? At the moment a "single press" of the play/pause button will start/stop the music stream and a "double press" will skip to the next track. Could a "long press" be used to put the speaker into "Group mode".or add it to an existing group. So, if you "long press" the button on the first speaker it goes into "Group mode" and then if you "long press" the button on another speaker it joins the first one in a group. Then you could "long press" the button on another speaker to add it to the group etc etc. To remove a speaker from the group you simply "single press" the button, which would also stop the stream. If you wanted to play a single speaker without adding it to a group you simply "single press" the button, as now. I would find this incredibly us
Hi, I have 2 x Play:5's One plays ok but just the tweeters. I have tried changing the eq setting to full base and no treble but it still sounds the same. Ther is no change after a restet either. The other Play:5 is working well and has a full base sound. Does this mean that one Play:5 has lost/blown the base speaker?
Music stops randomly-- 5-10 min. goes on pause.
I've been a loyal customer for a number of years now, enjoying the experience and telling everyone how great you are. But, this joyride has come to an end. Why? Your decision to require Internet access in order to function, and to prevent functionality until all components have been "updated." This decision no doubt is so you can continually improve my listening experience, either through the speakers or through the app. While I appreciate your earnestness to try to please me, you've turned needy. I need you to play my music from any source. That's it. Nothing more. Yet you insist on updating. And you get cranky when you can't reach the internet. So much so you refuse to function completely -- obstructing the enjoyment of my music library. This amounts to nothing more than abuse. Therefore, I'm leaving you. It's been fun -- we've shared a lot of good times together. I'm going to miss you. But it's not me -- it's you.
I love my new #SonosOne but it would be even better if it had a USB charging port and if it supported Drop In. I realize the charging port is not a software add🆒, so no upgrade path there. Is there a timeline for adding support for drop in?
Is there a a way to disable the LED lights on a wired SONOS component? I have multiple wired SONOS components on the house and the ones located in the bedrooms need to have the LED light disabled. It is amazing how such a small LED can light up a dark room.
Hi All, I have a Playbar, Sub, Play 5, Play 3 and two Sonos One's. A couple of times a day I lose connection to the entire system - the Sonos app tries to find the Sonos system but can't find anything. Sometimes if I wait a few minutes it will come back to life. Alternatively, if I try to use a different device (iPhone/iPad) - that device will detect the system straight away. Sometimes, I have to reboot my router altogether. I have Google Fiber and using the Google router. I've submitted diagnostics so if someone could take a look, it'd be great: 141876953 Thanks!
Since this keeps going around, I did a good test today for the 1 pair that sits on my desktop, from the desktop which is about as close as anyone would get to their units. I started the play of a well mastered album that delivers good sound levels - Buddy Guy/Living Proof. I moved the volume slider on the mac controller all the way to the left till the green light came on at the top of the units and started tapping to the right of the button, with each tap seeing a small movement of the slider to the right. It took me 3 taps to hear something, 4 to know it is music, and 5-6 to recognise the music. I then repeated the same experiment, using the + button on the play units themselves. Essentially, the same result again, using taps and not presses - the latter result in rapid volume level increase. If I had to pick, I would say that the second results were very slightly louder than the first. Only if I had to pick. So, why do so many complain that just one tap from mute using either
I'd love to use a Sonos One in my garage where I do all kinds of stuff—the messiest being woodworking. I've got an air filter, but plenty of sawdust can settle. Assuming I don't care how gray the cloth cover looks from all the sawdust, will the Sonos One be able to have a long life in such conditions? I'd position it high and out of the way, with mostly just the front exposed, so the dust is can be minimized. I can also clean it regularly with compressed air. Any thoughts on the One's survivability and how I could protect it more? The only reason why I'm thinking about this is because of what I've read about the One's resistance to moisture. I figure if it can keep out moisture, it can keep out dust! Thanks in advance!
My Sonos is hardwired into my computer. Recently it loads my lossless flac files from Windows Music Player (Music Library on Sonos) very slowly (if at all), and stops and/or skips around and then stops completely saying "network connection speed insufficient to maintain playback buffer." I am hardwired into the computer. I am unable to use my mouse. I cannot close Sonos. I cannot use any other programs on my computer. Diagnostics number 1864007032 I fixed this latest problem by connecting an Ethernet cable between my Sonos and my wireless router. My new problem is I have a wireless speaker that requires hardwiring into my computer as well as my wireless router. I am disappointed with the Sonos Play 5 usability. Sounds good if it works. I have only one Play 5 plugged into my computer and I don't use any gadgets or devices besides Windows Media Player (Windows 7).
I have a Play:5 that I take back and forth from my primary residence to my vacation home. I have searched for, but have been unsuccessful in locating a padded carrying case to protect for transport. End up wrapping in a beach towel, and then in a backpack. Are you aware of any plans to produce a carrying case? Or any existing 3rd party case that might work well for the Play:5? Thanks. I'm loving my Sonos system.
I received the voucher for the CR100. It is not is US currency, and neither is the Sonos shop. Is this correct? If not, how do I switch to the US side so I can place an order? I don't want to pay for shipping from Europe. Thank you.
Add me to the list of people having problems with songs skipping. I'm running a pair of Sonos Ones in stereo mode and the speakers are only 15 feet away from my router. I've gone through the standard wifi troubleshooting and don't know what else to do. I submitted a diagnostic: 8502972 Thanks!
I have just been on with customer support as I am now unable to play music simultaneously in two separate rooms (only since downloading the recent update!) Prior to this update they have worked fine in both rooms since purchase of the second Player1 in November. Apparently, as I have a wifi booster near one speaker, it is now reading it as a separate 'network' and I cannot play music simultaneously in two rooms. Before I go out and purchase the suggested Sonos Booster, I would like to check if anyone else has had this problem. I am not a technical wizard but this doesn't really make sense to me as they worked perfectly before and nothing has changed in my environment.
I'm looking to be able to play different music in 5 different rooms and have them be controlled individually in their respective rooms and centrally from a computer/smart device. Is that something sonos can do?
I would like to be able to reorder the Sonos favourites. I'm seems like a basic function and frustrates me. I just want to reorder my favorites on my iPhone.
After much testing trying to get my new Play:5 to connect to my network music library share on my Windows Server 2012 R2 server, it appears that Sonos does not support NTLMv2. It would appear from another post on this forum at https://ask.sonos.com/sonos/topics/sonos_with_osx_mavericks_server that OS X Mavericks now requires NTLMv2 by default for SMB share connections. Requiring users to lower the security of their system to enable NTLMv1 connections is not really a viable solution as NTLMv1 is a very old protocol and has many security vulnerabilities and is exactly the reason why Apple have decided to move to blocking NTLMv1 connections, something Microsoft will no doubt do at some point in the future (by default as it's already possible to configure a policy to block these connections). Sonos need to add support for NTLMv2 and cease using NTLMv1 connections. Additionally, Sonos should support the NTLMv2 Session Security and 128-bit Encryption optional suite components in NTLM
My sonos play 3 says its unable to connect to the wi-fi while going through the set up process, help would be appreciated!
It is clear that Sonos does not want to be another Bluetooth speaker otherwise they would have done so by now. But is sticking to the WiFi only model going to allow Sonos to survive? Sonos is so much focusing on a niche market of users who need to play music in multiple room (who does that?) and are total Audiophiles who can tell the difference between Bluetooth and WiFi streamed music (remember that cell phone cameras destroyed the amateur High end camera market). People want convenience over complexity. Water flows in the path or least resistance. If you read the WiFi vs Bluetooth argument for Sonos, you see it is all just one argument, "Do you want to play different music in multiple rooms?" This is not enough for Sonos to keep going. Why not allow users to choose? Add Bluetooth and keep the WiFi option. I am sure it is not an issue with cost as adding BT to a speaker costs pennies. The reason I write this is that Sonos makes great sounding speakers and it is a shame that I have t
Does anyone know of any solutions to mount the new sonos ones to a stand other than the ones sonos makes. I have a pair of speaker stands I wanted to use with the new sonos ones and without any mounting holes I am forced to find another solution. Was hoping maybe there would be some cool custom wood base or 3d printed base the speaker could sit in that could be mounted to other stands....i don't know...just hoping SOMETHING is out there as I hate the look and design of the ones made for the sonos one.
Hi All I’m brand new to Sonos and have bought 2x Sonos ones (using in stereo) and also a Play 3. I have a large sideboard and have set my pair of ones up at either end with the play 3 in the middle. Is this OK and what would the best settings be? Or Am I totally mad and I shouldn’t have them all in the same room? Thanks in advance Liam
Hi all, since updating my Play:1 to the latest software and running trueplay I am getting strange bass distortion and sharp drum notes sound bloated. The first drum will be louder and distort and then it seems the play:1 pulls back the bass a little. There is also noticeable popping noise through the low notes of a song. Now I can turn off the trueplay eq but that doesn't sound anything like it used to before the update! So I'm stuffed! I have submitted a diagnostic (5273094). This is exactly the same fault as the this post: https://en.community.sonos.com/wireless-speakers-228992/trueplay-bass-distortion-on-play1-6733388 Hope this can be quickly sorted Chris
One speaker is not on the controller. The white lamp is blinking slowly no matter what I do. I have tried to "add a speaker or a sub..." but the light does not change when I press the two buttons simultaneously. I have tried to connect by ethernet cable to my Bridge, but there is no blinking light in the Ethernet socket; netither in the speaker nor in the Bridge. I have tried to move the speaker close to my router and my Bridge. I have tried to reboot my router Diagnostic report 8450108
