Hi, I have 2 x Play:5's One plays ok but just the tweeters. I have tried changing the eq setting to full base and no treble but it still sounds the same. Ther is no change after a restet either. The other Play:5 is working well and has a full base sound. Does this mean that one Play:5 has lost/blown the base speaker?

I suggest calling or sending support a mail with your diagnostic number(you can find this option in the player) and have them determine if its a software or hardware issue.
I recently spent 15 min on the phone with Sonos and they replaced my Play: 5 with a new one after finding a fault with the hardware.
