I just bought me a Sonos Beam (Gen 2). Attached to my LG tv via HDMI Arc.When listening to TV everything is fine. But streaming form Netflix, HBO the sound is very hard to control. When I turn op the volume to listen to the voices, then the Music and sound effects is way to high. Going the other way around, turning volume down for music and sound, I can’t hear the voices.I have tried enhanced speak and night mode, but that does not help. It’ s like the sound and music is 3-4 times higher that the voices.Very annoying especially late at night trying to watch a movie without waking up people sleeping.Any suggestions? Otherwise I have to turn it back, I can’t live with it as is.
We all know the complaints and issues with the sound profile being changed on the Sonos Arc through recent updates. The majority of people picked this product based on its sound profile and most likely listened to the set up in the store, friend or family's house, etc. Changing the sound profile on the product after its been purchased without giving an option to keep it as original as absolutely ridiculous. The product was bought. Changing it without the ability to remain the same or change it back to how it was at purchase is sooooo odd that I have to wonder what they were thinking. I think we have waited more than enough for a "fix" or way to return it to before. Something needs to be don't and soon.
Hello my fellow Sonofiles,I own a BEAM which I set up just in front of my TV. I use it mostly with the TV, but also occasionally for music with AirPlay, mostly rock and jazz. I am very pleased with the audio quality.I have been thinking lately of adding 2 ONE’s, in the back of the room, left and right. The idea is to pair them with the Beam, and play together. The thing is, the financial effort would be substantial and I want to be sure it would be worth it.So the question is: adding two ONE’s to my BEAM, do I get a substantial improvement over just the BEAM, for both the TV and music, or not? Please share your opinions if you have been in my situation.Thank you.
It appears that the recent Sonos update, 13.1, is broken with regards to non-ASCII characters in files when updating the library. I have a job that daily generate 30 playlists, and the format of the name of the playlists is Pnn Artist - Albuim.m3u. They are located on a NAS from Synology that I have had for quite a few years. For instance, there is a file of which the name is P05 - Järngustav - Tiden läker inga sår.m3u. But in the Windows controller, this appears as P05 - Jrngustav - Tiden lker inga sr.m3u. In the Windows controller I see a square with a cross in instead of the å and the ä. Another example is P23 Cicala Mvta - Live at 磔磔- 結成20周年記念.m3u. Here all Kanji characters comes out as question marks. And it is not only matter of prettiness; when I open the list, there is nothing there, and I can’t put it into the queue. This was working without problem until yesterday, until it was broken. It obviously needs to be fixed - and fixed soon!
Hi, can I connect Sonos Five with a turntable to my existing Sonos One (stereo pair) and still keep the stereo function as shown in the picture below?
Hello friends,Unfortunately, today I'm saying goodbye to the LG C1 screen that served me faithfully, since I'm moving to a super bright living room, so the OLED will not having great affect with daylight.I ordered a Samsung QN90B and I have a full Sonos system (Arc, subwoofer and 2 speakers)From a short reading on Dr. Google I understood that there is a problem with Sonos and Samsung.Does anyone have that setup and/or the same style like the one I bought and can share their experiences of using both products together?I would love to receive any recommendation on the subject!
If you are lucky, it will last over a year (until the warranty expires) then die. Dead. When contacted, supports’ solution is to sell you another. If you refuse this option and are willing to spend over an hour proving that it is, indeed, dead and arguing that you will not accept anything other than replacement and being placed on hold (repeatedly), they will finally relent and agree to back their product. You need to be made of tough stuff to buy a ROAM. If not, heed my advice and DO NOT BUY A ROAM
Hi I play Spotify on my phone or laptop and stream this to the Sonos Beam (is also connected to hdmi arc connected to my Sony android tv). When I stream from Spotify directly to the Sonos setup everything is ok.But when I play audio from the Sony android tv and play the Android tv app from Spotify it only plays the beam. And not the obeying the Sonos beam + stereo Sonos one group setup. Also the sound quality is also less on the beam only (android Spotify to Sonos beam).I want to display the current song on my Sony in my house. And Spotify online displays a tiny rectanglewhen I play and manage this from phone or laptop.Any suggestions?
I am designing a new home with a 37ft x 20ft great room / dining / kitchen area. I would like to have music for casual listening, it never needs to be too loud and won’t need multiple zones in the space. I would like to add 1 Sonos amp along with a Sonos One in order to have a voice assistant. For ceiling speakers, would 4 be enough to run off the one amp or would 6 be necessary?
14.16 is released, any luck in improvement?
Hi Sonos / Community I have a Sonos Amp in my living room, with 2 Sonos Ones as surround speakers. The speakers i have connected to the Amp are “Full range” speakers. Meaning, they have 3 dedicated drivers, a drive for high, middle and low tones. The driver for low tones (Bass) is 12” Bass drivers. The speakers themselves sound GREAT with Sonos Amp. However, i wish i could tune the the Bass output from the surround speakers, and let my Front Speakers connect to the Amp handle all the Bass workload.I have read elsewhere, that if i were to connect a Sonos Sub (or a third party sub for that matter), that the system automatically does some crossover for all the speakers in the group so that eg. the surround speakers don’t produce low frequencies. However, as i already have sub “built-in” into my front speakers that are connected to the Amp, I would really wish there was a way for me to reduce the bass of the surround speakers, and let the big front speakers handle the Bass. Either by letting
Browsing ebay I ran across these Sub port protectors. Cheaper than the pre-made fabric protectors and less effort than making your own from speaker-cloth. If you have a plastic printer making your own might be fun.How they’d impact the sound I don’t know.https://www.ebay.com/itm/195315533156?hash=item2d79b68564:g:loIAAOSwFNdjDFlP&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAkOOAuJTc6pjUNslRYX4TfBWcouHq%2Fh4JvvbOfKcFw%2FSQeaOGAQqWEMKM%2BwCdaxe42pJODEzoY6raNfX1jgnYa5RSFpADVpNwszlLjs1EB0xqxZfU7wJVtcLDrmgAViOtwZ9vOWkTOJ4dcR2ZKNV9UGNP7hP4QzVDz%2B4IJSuI5M%2F4e4LULXiRtuxpuxWyfQ3Ekg%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR4i00pP3YA
I have devices in several rooms and control everything from my iPad. If I am listening, for example to music or a podcast, I have full screen display however if I change listening rooms the display invariably drops down to a narrow band at the bottom of my screen which I have to tap to restore full screen display. Although not a great problem, I do find it annoying particularly if I change rooms several times during listening.I contacted Sonos support and was told that this is the way the app is designed to operate!!! I replied simply , “Why as it’s very annoying?” “What is the reason for the app being designed to do this?” The only response I have received since are two customer satisfaction emails! Not very satisfactory to say the least.Anyone else find this frustrating?
So during Covid. Had a Lot of time, so spent a lot of timeand money trying out different systems ranging from Jbl to Sony to Sonos to get my perfect setup.so settled on the arc with sub and 2 SL. was very happy and then the updates hit. Currently on 14.16. And boy has it gone absurdly bad. No bass. No depth no effect. I am in no way a professional. But I know how it should sound but this is pathetic. No matter how many times I have retuned or adjusted the balance. Sounds horrible. sadly I am the sucker who believe in Sonos and even bought quiete a bit of shares in the company. all waste. listing the entire setup on eBay for sale now. Fed up and done with it. good luck everyone else.
There are many occasions where I listen to audio within a tab on my Chrome browser. It would be nice to be able to capture the audio and stream it directly to Sonos. Same with YouTube.
Just updated to 14.14. The issue with Arc+Sub is not fixed. Anyone with better luck?
I am looking a purchasing an Amp and a pair of outdoor speakers. Given where I am the sonos out door by sonance are the same price as the B&W AM-1 which one should I purchase? The reviews on the B&W are all very good but the sonance ones have some complaints about the depth of base. Just looking to see if anyone else has looked into these types of options.
While on Android 10 I was able to at least resize the Sonos widget from 4x2 to 4x1 this stopped working on Android 12 and it still doesn't work on Android 13. So I am left with a widget that takes almost half the screen for no reason. Please provide additional widget sizes or at least allow resizing.
Can Sonos put an update so you can adjust the volume level of Arc just in the same way you can independently adjust the volume levels of the Sub and Sonos Ones (surrounds), when all four are linked in a home theatre set up. Since the new firmware update the Arc sounds more suppressed /muted.Also, it would be very useful if in a future firmware update if Sonos can add to the existing EQ treble and bass, an additional mid-range level adjustment. i.e. User adjustable treble, bass and mid-range too! This would really help those who want to tweak vocals and mid-range in music and movies like they do with bass and treble. It would be particularly useful for soundbars like the Arc, but also would be nice for other standalone speakers too. The dialogue enhancer feature is too restrictive and does not work with pure music playback (non movie) and is not a substitute for mid-range EQ level adjustment.
Can anyone help? When my hisense tv and beam gen 2 are put on stanby mode there is no sound when the tv powers back up. You have to turn of the power and the arc is then recognised it’s quite annoying . any help much appreciated
I still find previous version was the best as current sound feel low ( Lack of sound stage ) and insufficent of volume. It require high volume to meet with previous version. Anyone have such feeling, I hope SONOS can reconsider ver updates as previous dialogue is much clearer too.
Hola, quería saber si se puede oír en el Sonos one sl audios de webs de internet, directamente desde el ordenador sistema WindowsGracias
Is there a way to attach the Ray Speaker to a wall mounted TV?
I want to install two TV’s outdoors that are very close to each other (less than 10’ and facing different directions). I would ideally like the idea of having both TV’s play the same video and audio signal (with no human detectable delay) but potentially play separate signals. I thought I would deploy it like this:*HDMI Splitter: Input=FireStick1. Output1=TV1 HDMI1, Output2=TV2 HDMI1** So far just looking at a 4K powered splitter on Monoprice.com that has good reviews. Not sure if this brand/model is critical as long as it does proper say 4K@60hz or whatever the requirement is?*TV1*HDMI1 input=Output1 from HDMI splitter described below*TV2*HDMI1 input=Output from HDMI splitter near TV1HDMI2 input=FireStick2This configuration allows me to set both TV’s to HDMI1 and use the remote for FireStick1 to see and hear the same audio. If I want to have the TV’s broadcast different signals (perhaps one with audio muted), I can simply switch them both to HDMI2 and use two separate FireStick r
Hi,I am using 2 sonos amps (the recent models) with a bunch of sonos architectural speakers. The hardware is great, the sound is excellent... but. I can confirm after extensive testing that android streaming and sonos is not a very good idea.Ok, it works…. for a while… and I can make a work again. But at home we have a mix of iphone’s and android devices. Airplay works in 100% in the cases ok, always. The problem are the android phones, after a while, of after using Airpay… it doesn’t work well any more. Yes, the solution of re-authenticating spotify works, or rebooting the amps. That works, but, it remains extremely annoying. I am 100% sure this is not a network problem. It is a problem of not being 100% compatible with android. And certainly the mix of Apple & Android devices to control the amps. Sadly, I already extensively discussed this with Sonos support … but they always put the blame somewhere else. And if you can make it work again… there seems not to be any problem. No, n
