Please forgive me. I am not tech savy at all. I currently have the Sonos 5.1 home theater system with playbase. I have ordered the Sonos Arc. How will I go about removing the playbase from the system and then installing the arc ? I also would like to sell the playbase to a friend. How do I factory reset the playbase ? Thank you in advance for kind responses.
I have redeemed the discount on my Gen 1 Play 5 (although my new purchase hasn’t arrived yet). Is there any reason not to sell my gen 1 Play 5?
Hi I’ve just preordered a Sonos Arc and I’ve just received a Samsung Q95T which is a TV which has its brains in a separate ‘one connect’ box that sits separate to the TV allowing the TV to be thinner. The one connect box has all the plugs for the TV including HDMI. So I need to run a HDMI cable 5m form the one connect box to my soon to arrive Sonos Arc. Should I be looking out for a specific brand or type of HDMI cable? Many thanks
I recently pre ordered the Sonos arc soundbar. I’m also in the market for a new TV. How important is it to enure the TV supports earc? Unfortunately it appears as though the options are limited and I’m wondering just how great the sound impact will be. Thanks!
Hello i really would like to upgrade my playbar with the arc. but i am not able to hang my tv on the wall and cannot place the arc in front of the tv. i really would like to place it on the current position see picture. is it possible to switch off the upfiring speaker or are they just add a angle that it will work?
Hi, I have a non smart tv, so I use Roku device to hear music (Spotify) and streaming (Netflix). I would like to know if sonos beam can reproduce Roku audio wireless and if voice controls will be available. Thanks!
Hello all - Any help on my question is greatly appreciated, I am a novice in the home audio space. I want to set up a Sonos Amp to run 4 outdoor speakers in parallel. 2 Bose Environmental 251’s on the deck about 10 feet from the Sonos Amp. And 2 8ohms rock speakers in the backyard about 100 feet away (cable will run ~150ft), using 14ga buried wire. Is the Sonos Amp powerful enough to handle this and properly send power to all speakers? Considering I want to use the Bose 251’s what size rock speak should I get to over overwhelm the Sonos Amp? Thanks for your consideration, Jonathan
I just purchased two (2) Sonos moves and paired them together as one speaker. Moving the volume control on my iPhone does not affect the volume at all. I can only change the volume manually on the actual speakers.
Hi there, I currently have two Play:1 devices and I’ve found it increasingly annoying that I can’t play BBC Sounds radio shows without going through the Sonos app (plus not all the Sounds content is available through Radio by TuneIn). So my question is this: if I buy a One SL (I’m not interested in voice control), could I use AirPlay 2 (I’ve got an iPhone XR) to listen to whatever is playing on my phone through the One SL, then group that with my Play:1 devices if I so wished? In addition, I have a lot of songs in the Music Library on my phone (I don’t use Apple Music, these are mostly songs I’ve bought through iTunes ages ago or even copied to my laptop from actual CDs) which at the moment I can’t listen to through my Sonos speakers unless I have the laptop switched on. Would AirPlay 2 solve this problem too? Thanks very much in advance! :) Sarah
Hi All, My living room TV currently has a cheap Visio Soundbar, I also have my Alexa and Turntable setup to Audioengine A5s. I want to upgrade to the Sonos Arc and Sonos Sub, however I’m not sure what to do with my turntable, I kind of want to get rid of the A5s because I think the Arc + Sonos Sub will sound much better than just the 2 Audioengine A5s for room listening (especially since I have no sub with the A5s). What are your opinions as to how to go about this? Should I keep the A5s and join them with a Port? Or get rid of the A5s and get a Five for Line In? Or is the best solution getting an AMP and using the A5s as surround? Will this properly crossover the Sonos Sub and Soundbar?
I recently purchased 3 pairs of Sonos In-ceiling speakers for a total of 6 speakers. I also purchased one Sonos Amp, which I know I can connect all 6 speakers to the Amp. However, the 6 Speakers will be spread across three open rooms with a pair of speakers in each room. I don’t mind having everything on one zone to play music, but I would like to control the volume for each room or pair of speakers. Therefore, I’m thinking about ordering three of the following: https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=8243 Then I could connect each pair of in-ceiling speakers to its own volume controller and then have all the volume controllers connect back to the Amp. I’m pretty sure this will work, but a confirmation would be great. Also, please let me know if there is a better way or if someone knows that this wouldn’t work with my setup. Any advise is appreciated. Basically, I’m asking if this will work? If not, any suggestions will be appreciated.
I understand that we can tweak the speakers after setting up TruePlay using the EQ and SUB levels, but does “pure” TruePlay assume that Loudness is turned on or off? Put another way, if we toggle Loudness after TruePlay setup does it change the outcome?
Hi all Im desperately trying to figure out how to get my samsung android phone & tablet non music (eg netflix, prime, you tube, itv etc) played through the 2x sonos ones g2 i just bought. Trying to crack this before investing anymore in sonos systems. The sonos move is the only sonos with blue tooth which gave me an idea.... Couple of questions: 1) firstly I'm assuming in blue tooth mode the move will connect to my android (samsung) tablet like a standard blue tooth speaker, and play non music like i want? 2) if the answer to the above is yes. Then in bluetooth mode can the move connect to my future sonos speakers (two ones g2, a sub, and a soundbar) which obviously aren't blue tooth? Could the move be the audio source (via bluetooth) to play (push audio) across multiple rooms / speaker groups? Ps, any other ideas very welcome. Thanks in advance Suzie
Hey. Hope you’re all well. I bought a Sonos Play Five a month ago and I’m loving the quality of it - however I was a little annoyed when the newly rebranded Sonos Five was announced so soon after buying the Play 5. Apart from more storage and the new radio feature in the newer model, will there be any noticeable differences to the sound between the old and new and would it be beneficial to buy the newer model? Thanks
I first noticed the problem trying to setup trueplay, and it said it wasn’t hearing a speaker. So I tried testing the speakers independently, and both surround speakers work. However, they produce NO sound when playing music through them. I have seen other theads that suggest a diagnostic to be sent, so here is the number - Diagnostic: 297518253
After installing my new Sonos Soundbar the sound volume indicator on my TV was replaced with a circle with a diagonal line through it as though the volume display is no longer available. How may I correct this so that I can see the volume indicator on my TV again? TV - LG TV: OLED55C8AUA.
Hello all, I see there is a discount for nurses and first responders. Is there also a discount for resident physicians? I’m a resident at Texas Children’s hospital. Some of the nurses were talking about how much they love their sonos speaker. I thought it would be nice to put a few in my office and patient rooms to play some calming music on stressful nights.
I know nobody’s rooms are the same. I am hoping that someone with a Beam who is going to take delivery on an Arc can perform a same audio test and post their opinions - or even post on YouTube. I plan on using ours mostly on TV programming.. I realize that the YouTube post will only be as good as the captured sound. I have a Beam and two One’s for surround, no Sub - yet.
Looking for some help if possible please - some tracks in Spotify won’t play via the Sonos app or direct to Sonos via devices available in Spotify - the playlist are being accessed via Sonos, the songs are greyed out, despite them being a able to be played via the Spotify app on all of my mobile devices, IOS and Android.
Hello About a year ago there was a thread about Sonos’ inability to shuffle an Apple Music library. Edward R (Sonos staff) wrote: I am afraid that sending 12,000 tracks to the queue is quite demanding of your home network. The reason GPM may allow this is due to the tracks possibly being of a lower fidelity. What Jeff recommended was for testing purposes. We will be sure to forward this feedback for you, in any case. Many thanks. I am new to Sonos this week. I am having this problem, can I assume that the feedback was forwarded but nothing has been done. Apple Music does not queue the entire library when shuffling songs, so this should not be the issue - Sonos only needs to ask for the next track. I think that Sonos should reasonably expect that some of their users will (a) be using Apple Music and (b) have large libraries.
I’ve preordered the Arc and Sub; I have a few questions; 1) I have 2 Sonos Play 1s as rear surrounds. Will these be compatible to pair with the Arc and Sub for a surround system, or are only Sonos One/One SL compatible? 2) I have an LG OLED C9; is HMDI eARC the best way to connect audio? Should I use an HDMI 2.1 for this? 3) I have a frame around my TV; if I mount the Arc directly under the frame, it covers the top of the speaker: would the acoustics be better if I mount a wood box behind the Arc, so that there are no obstructions* on top of the speaker?
Will the new Sonos Radio (stations) work utilizing Bluetooth on Sonos Move (and your phones cellular data), or do you need to be connected to wifi?
When I want to add IFTTT to Sonos I get the error message: Error accessing the service. It won't load the rooms. What I already tried : - Set IFTTT-Sonos on my android phone, also the same problem - Disconnect Sonos and IFTTT and enable it again On the webpage the https://ifttt.com/activity/service/sonos I can see the service is connected. Can anyone help me?
Hi - with the current home isolation situation I have just started doing Zoom online yoga classes. Namaste! I have a Samsung TV with a Sonos playbar, and a Samsung tablet - so I log into Zoom meeting on my tablet and cast to the TV with Samsung smartview, but the sound is just coming from my tinny tablet - is there any way I can get the sound to come through the playbar on the TV? There is no Zoom app on the TV, and my TV doesn’t have a camera anyway so have to use the tablet to cast. It looks as through I can play files stored on my tablet via browse on Sonos controller, but does this allow streamed sound? Many thanks for any advice!
I’m planning to buy a Sonos Arc to use with my AppleTV 4K, specifically I want the Atmos support. Issue is my TV does NOT support eARC, so connecting the Sonos Arc to the TV will mean no Atmos I was therefore thinking if I buy an HDMI splitter that support Atmos (for example this) then I could connect as follows Apple TV → HDMI Splitter → Port 1 to TV for video (1080P) → Port 2 to Sonos ARC for video From what I can see from comments on Amazon this should work, does anyone have any views on this?
