Hi, is PayPal “Credit” (6 month interest free) available as an option to pay for items? I know they accept regular PayPal. I’m asking about “PayPal Credit”. thanks
I’m wondering if before I update my system to the S2 whether certain products which are compatible at present will cease to be supported on it in the future? I have a number of Play 3s which are a relatively old product now in the Sonos line up. Is it possible Sonos would not provide updates for them forcing me to upgrade or would they come up with S3 and exclude older products from that?
We have recently bought LG HU80KS 4K UHD Projector https://www.amazon.com/LG-HU80KS-Theater-Cinebeam-Projector/dp/B07XC6YH21 We have some sonos plays from 2015 can we connect them or do we need a newer models? Many thanks for any advice
If I live in a 2 bedroom apartment on the top floor where the bedrooms are on either side of the living room but the floor is hardwood. Would the sub gen 3 be too much bass vibrating to the floor below or annoying my neighbors on either side??
I recently acquired a Sonos Move, which has replaced a Play 1 in our dining room. We have so far used it predominantly moved into the bathroom as needed and for occasional dinner background music in the dining room. It’s always connected to Wifi - not yet used the Bluetooth functionality. We will also be using it on the patio when/if the UK weather improves in the summer. (also on Wifi but may need to use Bluetooth if kids want to take it down the end of the garden. We’ve had it a few weeks and I’m reasonably happy with it. When not used in the bathroom it has always been kept on it’s charging base. Recently though I have noticed in the app that it never gets to 100% charge, always stopping at 95%. On the odd occasion, it has shown 100% in the app for around 1 second then changes to 95%. I should point out that I don’t have voice services active but I do keep the mic on for auto true play. So - is this normal battery behaviour? Should I take it off the charger for a while? I’m a litle
I have Sky Q 2TB and 4KUHD Blu-ray connected to my Samsung QE55Q9FNA. When I look at my TV’s Digital Output Audio Format the message says “ The Dolby digital + option is only available via ARC (HDMI) for external devices that support the format”. Does that mean that If I buy a Sonos ARC and attach it to the TV via the HDMI ARC - I will be able to get (Dolby Digital Plus) Dolby Atmos ?. I understand that as I do not have eARC I cannot get the Dolby TrueHD Dolby Atmos. Many Thanks, Jan.
Now that Sonos has upgraded the app to include 2 different versions, Sonos S1 and Sonos apps. Is it possible to remove the recycle mode from a gen 1 play five to use on the Sonos S1 app which seems to be for legacy products? if possible can you share the steps to do so? thank you
I’ve been trying to play the Roger Waters The Wall Atmos track off of my PS4 but I’m only able to get 2.0 stereo sound. The TV is set to passthrough audio and the PS4 to Bitstream (Dolby). Anyone one been able to successfully get Atmos with the PS4 and the Arc?
Hello, does anyone found sound difference with new enlarged broadband on Sonos S2 when playing vinyls? Do you know if S2 now support MQA from Tidal? I saw that casting Tidal to Sonos from Tidal app, converts Master to Hifi Quality. I noticed a substancial difference instead comparing Apple Music VS Qobuz, meaning that there IS a difference with new enlarged broadband if the systems support the format.
I am mounting my brand new ARC suspended under the TV on a Cantilever TV & Soundbar mount. My ARC is not mounted to the wall or or placed on a table. As the TV Moves out on the cantilever arm, the ARC moves with it, maintaining 65mm below the TV. I am using a Sub (Gen2) & 2 Sonos Ones in my setup. Do I need to do anything to the sound setup? Does the ARC think it is wall mounted & wrongly adjusts the sound as I see the the offical wall mount does alter the sound? At the moment the ARC sound is not as good as I was expecting and I can't mount it to the wall or put it on a table. Hopefully the ARC sound will improve with a few tweaks & running in the speakers. Maybe I was expecting a huge improvement, but as the Playbar is already a good product, I was not going to see big changes. Long term listening will no doubt show the subtle improvements of the Playbar. I have not listened to anything in ATMOS yet though, which is where the speaker excels.
Hi - I’ve just installed the Arc on HDMI3 (Arc) on my Sony KD77a1 I’ve fired up a film on the AppleTV - The film is Coded with Dolby Atmos - and yet I’m not convinced I’m actually getting Dolby Atmos. When I look into the system settings it says Stereo 2.0 on the Arc and nothing on the Surrounds (Play:3 and Sub) - and is expect that to say Dolby Atmos… I’ve checked the HDMI settings on the Sony TV - all looks fine. Would I expect to see Dolby Atmos on the Sonos System Info if all was working? I know this product is super new - but does anybody have any pointers as to what might be wrong?
Hello, Does anyone know if there is a cosmetic repair service for the Sonos move please? Thanks. (picture attached)
First post here! I’d like to get a simple Bluetooth turntable (I don’t want to fork out for a Port and it will be in another location to my Play 5) like the Sony PS-LX310BT. My logic is I could buy a good Bluetooth receiver to go into the Play 5 line in, I’m just not sure if the Bluetooth turntable will stream to a receiver as opposed to an actual Bluetooth speaker. Anyone done this or have experience? If so, any recommendations? Thanks!
Suddenly my sonos app became S1. I looked and saw that there is an S2 app also. Apparently it has new features, etc. But of course, they are crapping on customers with older devices and it won’t work. The excuse is that older devices can’t handle the new app. Really? We are talking about streaming audio. Let’s not make more of it than what it is. A few IF AND ELSE statements in the app, and Sonos could have made the new app work with old devices. This is just a way to get people to drop their old devices and buy new ones. Kind of like how Apple slowed down iPhones. Sonos was selling the Connect up until about a year or two at most ago. Now those are considered old. Then there is all these new devices, but still not much for 3rd party speakers. The Amp is only 2 channel. Still no solution for real 5.1 or better sound with 3rd party speakers. I have some speakers that are built into my custom wall unit and a sound at is out of the question as well as other speakers. So I have to
Hello everyone. This is my first post, and hopefully it is in a format acceptable to this forum. I am trying to gift a system to someone. The person loves music, enjoys high quality sound, but is not at all interested in learning anything about systems, hi fi or technology of sound. The room it would go in is nearly a circle. It is also nearly all glass (due to views), and with a mix of wood and rug flooring. Sound does not bounce as much as one would expect. Although the space is a good size, the dining and sitting areas will never need different sound volumes. My goals are: 1) achieve sound excellence; and 2) Hide most of the system as much as possible. I have three scenarios depicted as attached. BLUE. Four Sonos One + Sub RED. Two Sonos Five + 2 Sonos One GREEN. One Sonos Five + 3 Sonos Ones + 1 Sub Would much appreciate if you would give me your preference, and reasons for why. Or, please give me an alternative other than those shown. Many thanks in ad
Attached is a photo of my current living room set up. I am looking for advice on how to get the most out of my ARC upfiring speakers. can I mount it above the tv, where the current soundbar is? Should I move the tv up a foot on the wall and mount The ARC under it? the ceilings are vaulted as you can see. I thought that mounting it above may get it closer to the ceiling for the “bounce effect”. that being said, it would be nice to get the best overall sound possible. thoughts?
I have no intention of moving to S2 since I have too many devices that are Not compatible; however, I like to group them for music. I am also gifting a device I do NOT use to a friend who just needs a nice connected speaker. How do I remove a single device from my system to do that on the S1? I did this in the past when I got rid of my controller, but can’t figure out how to do it now...
If Sonos have abandoned the Windows controller (and with it a large number of users who paid for a product) then please consider putting the code into a public repo at Github. This will allow technically minded users to maintain the application. There are a huge number of very experienced and able Windows software developers - myself included - (I also developed a .Net Sonos API and have some serious insights to this). I paid for a product, I’m a software developer and work at my Windows PC a great deal, this is the world I live in, not Android, not Apple and was one of the attractions of Sonos at the time I made my purchase. If we’ve been abandoned or sidelined then I see no reason to remain a loyal Sonos user and will simply dump the product.
I recently moved into a house that has several Sonos Connects. How do I figure out what “generation” they are? I’m asking because I’m trying to determine if my products are compatible with the just-released software updates.
First Post, hope you can help. I have a Sonos ARC on order at the moment, does anybody know the length of the power cable and the HDMI cable supplied please, and also more importantly if the HDMI cable is a high speed one able to cope with EARC inputs and higher bandwidth? Don't fancy installing cables and then having to replace so any guidance would be good. Thanks in Advance
Once you have set the Arc up with Bluetooth turned on, do you always need it on for the sound bar to function properly or can you turn it off on your phone as its connected to the wifi?
Hello, Agenda: Chromecast support on Sonos. I’ve been reading through this forum about this topic, and basically can’t find any clear answer - apart from ‘we’ll pass this request to developers’. As an iPhone user I know I can use Airplay however I don’t find it a very good solution; I get a phone call, music stops, walk out the house, music stops, not to mention my battery constantly draining. Additionally as good (in its own way) the Sonos app is, many services don’t give their respective platforms enough attention, rather spending it on their native apps - many of which support Chromecast. e.g. I often find myself on Soundcloud native iOS app, find a set I want to listen, but then have to go into Sonos’s app and search it again. Similar use case with YouTube music, and Youtube in general, need to use Airplay. So I’d like to ask: Are there are Sonos developers here who could comment on the challenges of implementing Chromecast and what the potential timeline of release (if its realist
I received my Arc yesterday and initial impressions are...poor. The bass performance is much, much worse than even the $150 vizio soundbar it replaces (and worse than every other Sonos product I own). The woofers sound like they are bottoming out and rattling during any music or TV that has even a slight amount of bass. Has anyone else noticed the same? I am not sure if this is a possible hardware defect or whether all Arcs exhibit this behavior. Try, for instance, watching the opening credits from “Dirty Money” on Netflix. It’s theme song is by Run the Jewels and it sounds atrocious on the Arc. Almost as if the woofers are being asked to play far beyond their capabilities (despite the volume at 35-40% and the Bass EQ being flat). I sincerely hope mine is defective and that this isn’t just the performance we should expect from the Arc. Thanks
Are we still able to use S1 devices for surround speakers in s2? if it, what is the recommended setup for existing wired surround speakers? Amp works great for the front speakers and connect:amp is fine for surround but are we really now expected to buy TWO AMPs just for wired surround sound with S2.
This behaviour started a month or so ago. Its pretty annoying Diagnostic sent > 396349532 This usually happens if the app is opened after being closed for many hours, after being closed the night before, or when its open and no streaming has occured for many hours. 1 tap to open Sonos App on my iPhone 7plus (latest upgrade for both) 2 app opens to My Sonos but the main screen is grayed out and each item that is greyed out is flashing. My Sonos is set with Recently Played then Stations (there are others but those are the only two visible when opening the app). 3 if i click on <rooms> or <browse> then back to <My Sonos> then the flashing is stopped and the items show instead of being greyed out. 4 as long as I keep it open for that priod of use it will be fine 5 sometimes if its been open for hours and not used (nothing streaming). then when tap or switch to it, the same behaviour happens. and yes i have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. no
