Play 5 Gen 1 Recycle Mode Removal to use Sonos S1

Now that Sonos has upgraded the app to include 2 different versions, Sonos S1 and Sonos apps. Is it possible to remove the recycle mode from a gen 1 play five to use on the Sonos S1 app which seems to be for legacy products? if possible can you share the steps to do so?

    @rcarranza, sadly the Play:5 has crossed the river of no return; there is no way to revive the unit.
