I have reviewed several discussions on this, but have not found an answer (at least the one I hope to find, lol). The Sonos Port does see my Asset UPnP server and I can select individual tracks to play. I can also add tracks individually to the queue, but am looking for a way to add the entire album to the queue at once. Selecting each song and then “Add to End of Queue” is a bit tedious. So is there a way to add the entire album at once? This function is available on another streamer I have (Moon MIND) so It seems it would also be available on the Sonos.
I’m new to Sonos and I’m looking at buying the Arc, Sub and Ones for surround. I will mount the surrounds to the back wall and mounting to the wall under my TV. The wall is white so I was thinking about buying the white Arc but not sure what that would look like given the TV is black. Was curious if anyone here has pictures showing what the white Arc looks like mounted to a white wall?
I’ve had trouble with the Music Library in the past with S1 (since the latest Mac OS update). I finally got it to work by turning off the firewall and giving privledge to the Sonos controller (Security & Privacy) for the disk access. Now….I noticed there is only S1 Apps available to choose. And there is something called SonosLibraryServer but no S2. The S2 app installed OK and works on other services but not my own music library (iTunes). At any rate, I had to turn off the firewall again and although the S2 controller found all the music files and lists them, I get an error when it tries to play them (file not found). I’m going to keep fiddling’ but if somebody knows the secret...please ring in.
Updated speakers and iOS devices to S2, but no sign of an S2 app yet for Mac OS - clicking the download links on the web site still take you to the S1 version, and no way in the app on Mac OS to update
Dolby Atmos’ full effect requires height as well as width and depth. How tight is the sweet spot where you get to hear some reflected height audio from the Arc Soundbar. The answers will depend upon room dimensions so answers will necessarily need to be predicated with details of room ( in particular room height ) dimensions. Does reflected sound really work to paint a full 3D soundscape?
As someone who uses a Connect to stream music to a much higher quality DAC and amplifier, I’m wondering whether there are any plans (or indeed any demand) for an S2 version of the Connect?
Hi there, I've never posted here before so please bear with me. How can I stop S1 to S2 update? I don't want S2 based on the negative reviews and my understanding was I could stick with S1. I have a play 1 and play 3 bought around 2013 and 2011 so I assume they are legacy. I am using Android 10 on a Sony Xperia xz2. When I start S1 it prompts me to update to S2. It's done this for a few days. I seemed to be able to stop this prompt by shutting down and restarting the app but this no longer works. I am stuck on this prompt screen and can't get past it. s1 was working just fine for my system. So I would like to stay with S1 but the prompt shows compatibility issues. Any help would be appreciated. thanks
Hi i am trying to remove my old bridge and Connect from my system and install a new Move. But no matter what I do. The Bridge Removal Tool potion in the System Tools section does not seem to be available. Any suggestions as to how I can remove my old bridge and install the Move on my system? regards
Hi All Have a Sonos amp connected to ceiling speakers in kitchen and just purchased a pair of outdoor speakers which will be hooked up to the amp this weekend. As the volume control will affect all four speakers, is there any sort of separate control I can put in so can adjust independently. Idea being that in the garden i may want the volume louder than in the kitchen and vice versa. I know can get wall mounted controls but not sure how good they are or what to look out for as do not want to compromise sound quality Welcome any suggestions and specific items to look for Thanks in advance
Hello anyone. My TV doesn´t have ears, I am going to change the next year but at this moment only have HDMI 1.4 ARC.Is possible to use Apple TV 4K with an HDMI 2.1 splitter and connect one HDMI to the tv and the other to the Sonos arc and have Atmos.
Hello, everyone. I have a houseful of Play:1 speakers (stereo paired) and a Play:5 (1st Gen). After all these years, I am finally subscribing to a music service instead of using my own library of mp3’s stored on a hard disk. I currently have Amazon Unlimited and have an Alexa, so it is great to just say “Alexa, play the album XXX in the living room,” and it starts playing. But I’m fully embedded in the Apple ecosystem (desktop, laptop, iPads, iPhone, AirPods, AppleTVs). So I would really like to use Apple Music and Siri. Yes, I bought a pair of HomePods, but they are not nearly as good as a pair of Play:1’s. (I’m about to write a scathing review of HomePods everywhere I can to dissuade people from buying them.) I have a trial membership with Apple Music right now. I’ve activated it on the Sonos App. So I can use the App to manually play music through Sonos. However, I would like to be able to use my voice: “Hey Siri, play XXX in the living room.” I know that the Sonos One has voice co
I have a setup called “Cinema” which consists of an Arc, Sub and 2x Play 1s. My Logitech Harmony picks this up on the network as a device, and it’s able to control the volume on it when I go into this device. However when I create an Activity (and include “Cinema” as one of the devices, along with the projector and, say, my Apple TV) I’m unable to adjust the volume in this Activity. My Arc is connected via Optical due to lack of ARC on my projector, so that’s not an option for control. I mainly use the Harmony iPhone app to control. On this, the volume buttons are greyed out. On the Harmony Remote, you’re able to specify what you want the hard volume buttons to do, and on this I can successfully map them to Sonos “Cinema” and get the desired effect. Any tips on how to fix the iPhone App issue? It might be relevant to know that I’m on Mac OSX Catalina, and the Harmony software is incompatible with this (!). I have no other computers to install the desktop software on, so I’m stuck
Hi, Hoping somebody can shed some light on this rather odd audio behaviour. I have a Beam connected via ARC to an LG 49SM8200PLA and Sky Q into the other HDMI port on the LG. TV setting is set to pass through as I get better audio quality and no lip sync issues as I do when using Bitstream. All works fine. However, randomly during the day sound will drop on Sky News or Sports. I used to simply turn off and on again the Sky q box which would instantly solve the issue but I shouldn’t have to be doing this procedure. So recently when it happened, I tested other things for audio. Playing BBC or ITV on Sky Q worked with audio, as did using Netflix or Prime via the TV’s own apps. ONCE, when I then returned from the TV apps back to Sky Q (sports) sound returned. However this didn’t happen today. If anybody has encountered this issue, it would be helpful to know any solution. FYI, it’s wall mounted so using optical is not possible, nor do I want to lose the Alexa functionality with ARC.
Ordered a Sonos Move in black, which was on backorder and said it'll ship mid July. My card was charged $1.00 and I never received any email communication regarding the purchase or anything at all. Just wondering if this is normal for back orders or if I should be trying to contact someone. Thanks!
I live in Jersey which should come under uk so expect my sonos move voice control to connect to my Alexa but I can't find the option in the Service & Voice menu in the sonos settings. I can play music etc through all my sonos devices using my Echo dot I just can't seem to get it working the other way around.
I previously had a Move set up on a home WiFi network. As part of getting out of my home for COVID, I brought my Move with me to another house that did not have a full network. Upon trying to use the Move in Bluetooth mode, I’ve had no success despite a massive range of attempts to fix the issue. I’ve tried restarting. The top LED simply continues to flash white. I’ve tried restoring factory settings. The “orange” LED I’m supposed to see never shows. I’ve tried adding a new entire Sonos system in the new house. Wont recognize. There is nothing I can do in the app given I’m not connected to the Move nor an established Sonos WiFi system. Nothing has worked. Please please help.
I am trying to install the S2 App on a Samsung Galaxy S9, But it will not install. I get to the User agreement. Then there is no icon to accept terms.
Whilst I understand that my Sonos Play 3 (first gen) doesn’t support Apple Air Play, why is it possible to stream Spotify music on my Play 3 directly from the Spotify iPhone app, yet it’s not possible to stream directly from my Apple Music app?
Hi everyone and thanks for reading my question. I use the Beam speaker for my TV, works a treat. Next to my telly I have two large speakers powered my Cambridge amp, I used to use them for music and also for listening to audio from the tv. Im thinking of purchasing the Sonos Port to hook my old (but lovely) stereo into my existing Sonos system. My question is if I use the Beam when watching tv, will I be able to listen also with my Port connected stereo at the same time, or will there be a lag between the two? Id like to improve the TV audio experience using both the beam and my port connected stereo. Also one other thing, what's the DAC like on the Sonos Port? is it worth running with an additional external DAC? I currently have a Cambridge DAC Magic unit and wondered if the Sonos Port would make it redundant.. Any answers or thoughts would be greatly appreciated, many thsnks Anthony
So I just got my pre-ordered Sonos Arc yesterday, and it seems to play fairly well with my LG C8 and Apple TV 4K using the ARC HDMI port. Having read various threads before the Arc launch, I was getting nervous that a lot of stuff wouldn’t work at all without eARC. So when I saw that the LG C9 (which of course has eARC) was on a really good sale a couple of days ago, I went ahead and ordered it. In the meantime I’ve been testing the Sonos Arc with my C8 and I’m getting Atmos from Netflix and purchased iTunes content — which is most of what I was hoping to get. My only issues so far are that I had to manually set the audio out to “Bitstream (Dolby)” instead of “Linear PCM” to get 5.1 sound on my PS4. And Plex on the Apple TV seems to be converting TrueHD audio to regular DD 5.1. So what I’m sitting here wondering is if the LG C9 and its eARC port is going to deliver something I’m not already getting on my C8. Will it be able to deliver LPCM from my PS4? Or will it play more nicely
Hi there, I have a 2018 Samsung 55” Q9FN with a Sonos Arc. When I watch Sky Q Atmos content the Sonos App shows I am getting Dolby Atmos through DD+ 5.1. However, when I watch Disney Plus Atmos content through the Samsung TV app (not through Sky Q) I get DD+ 5.1 showing on the Sonos App but no Atmos. I am getting 4k picture / HDR etc. but no Atmos. Any reason why this might be ? Can I do anything to change this ?. I believe that Sky Q will be adding 4k and Atmos to their Disney Plus offering but do not know when that will actually happen. Many Thanks, Jan.
Hey you guys this is my first time posting to this. My question is, what settings do I set my tv to to make sure I’m getting Dolby Atmos coming through? PCM(even though I don’t think this can pass through atmos) auto, Passthrough, or Auto. A side note i have enabled eArc on the tv.
I just set up my 77” LG C9 TV with the Sonos playbar and not able to get the sound to sync perfectly with the video. Attempted all the sync adjustments through the Sonos App. The sound still slightly lags behind video. I read some of the previous community messages and it appears this has been a problem for a few years. Is there a fix from either Sonos or LG?
When I try to upgrade to the Sonos 2 app on my Macbook Air (using Mojave), it downloads and then when it tries to install, I get a failed message every time. Any ideas?
I have a LG 2017 TV with Atmos enabled for internal speakers. In Netflix shows Dolby Vision & Atmos enabled. I have now a Beam and with the ARC connected and the same movie shows Dolby Vision & 5.1 The TV has only ARC and no eARC. Does DD+ enables the UP-firing-Ceilling speakers and will I get a sound coming from top, or the sound bar will only give 5.1 and not use the speakers designed for Atmos? What is Compressed Atmos and will it show Dolby Vision & Atmos in Netflix over the HDMI ARC to the Sonos ARC?
