Hi, I just heard a very bass-heavy song and unfortunately I heard a problem, with very deep bass it sounds like the drivers are at their limit and it sounds like an unclean muddy vibration... No matter if with trueplay or without , trueplay made it even worse ... With the subwoofer you don't notice this problem. With the stereo distribution, one does not always have the impression that something comes from the left or right and with Atmos from the top only minimally. The voices sound rather thin and artificial and the adaptation to a 5.1.2 system with the Sub and 2 Play 5 does not work properly either, because the speakers sound very different in tone and you think that it is a completely different system from a different manufacturer is. I have a sub, the Arc in front of the TV on the furniture and 2 Play 5 in the back ... Everything at 0 EQ and still the Play 5 sound much warmer and more powerful than the Arc. The bass reproduction is not the problem with the Sub, rather th
Planning to install an Arc on a MantelMount MM700 with a 65” TV. Wondered if anyone else had tried this ? Questions: I’m not sure about the spacing on the mounting holes. The MM700 says max 29” width (which I assume is the distance between the mounting holes). Any idea how far apart the mounting holes are on the Arc? Did you need to use the Arc Wall Mount accessory to connect ? Did you need to purchase the MantelMount SoundBar Adapter which supports larger sound bars ? Thanks for any pointers ! Ward
Ever since updated to Sonos 2 app after Sonos 1 app told me not compatible with my system of 2 Play 1’s and a Beam. App has issues responding when connected, then trying to connect to Sonos or other services. It’s just a wonky piece of junk. Can’t connect to my music on my computers. Just been terrible. I had no issue utilizing music from computers before. Connects maybe 30% of the time to pandora or other services. Delayed response when it is connected. Anyone else feeling my pain? I can’t even get support from Sonos. Just Bots and no returned emails or people answering phones. They claim Twitter is fastest way to get an answer but they don’t support their twitter customer service anymore. I’m reaching out for help from community as I’m ready to ditch Sonos for good. HELP?
Hi all, I have a Panasonic Oled TV model - 55GZ950B 2019 Model. Last week i bought the Sonos Arc and I cant get it to work via the Hdmi 2 (Arc) connection on my TV. When going through the setup on the Sonos App it gets to the point of testing the Viera Link and says Viera Link not connected even though Viera Link is set to ON in the TV settings. Tried 3 other cables in case mine was faulty but same result. Eventually i had to use the optical adapter to get sound from my TV to the Sonos Arc but it only comes out in stereo. Tried the Sonos Arc on a Samsung TV and it set up with no issues - so not faulty cable or soundbar. Tried another input to Hdmi 2 and picture and sound are fine - so not faulty Hdmi 2 port on TV. In conclusion I think there maybe an issue with the Sonos App with the Viera Link testing. Spent over an hour with a Sonos tech on chat to no avail. He ran out of options to try. Can anyone help ? I bought the Sonos Arc for the Atmos sound but if I cant get it worki
Has anyone used the Sonos amp with b&w/kef speakers and sub? What’s that combination sound like? I’m looking to buy the amp and use it in combination with an existing b&w pv1 sub and potentially new speakers. Considering 607s as they are the smallest available and have had good reviews. Alternatively I do have some old kef 3005se speakers that I was looking to sell but could also try with this set up but I’m not sure about the combination. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
Hello, I will be making my first SONOS purchase for my future apartment (up to 1000 sq ft), but am also hoping to use this in my future full sized home within the next 5-7 years. I set my budget for $800 USD and my two options are: 1) Beam + 2 ones or 2) Arc. I watch a lot of movies and TV, but also like to listen to music out loud every so often! I do not currently own a TV, but I will probably not be able to afford one that has HDMI-eARC capabilities. However, I plan to purchase one (at least 55 in) that has HDMI-Arc. I’ve read a lot, but am still confused and torn between both purchases. I think (from what I’ve been told) the beam + 2 ones will overall sound better, but I’m not entirely sure if this is correct. I want to try to “future proof” this purchase as much as I can in hopes that what I buy will be usable for around 10 years or so and I think the Arc might have the edge here with the future of Dolby Atmos. All suggestions are welcome :) thanks!!
I know Sonos has promised LPCM compatibility and I know Sonos doesn’t typically give timelines. But the end of the 60 day return policy is coming up and I likely only want to keep my Arc if this is going to ultimately be fixed. I don’t want a situation where magically it turns out the tech is too hard / the fix to integrate LPCM doesn’t work and then I’m stuck with an expensive soundbar I might not have wanted. Is Sonos willing to either (a) extend the return period for ppl with this issue until after the fix is issued and/or (b) provide guidance around timing so that we can get comfortable we’ll be able to test this within the 60 days? What are other people planning on doing around this? Thanks… David
Hi There, I’ve read through posts on the topic from 3 years ago and haven’t seen a recent update or post on this. Has Sonos updated their product / App to allow you to connect a single speaker to multiple room profiles? For example, I have a Play:1 in my Office, a Play:1 in my bedroom, and then a Playbar, sub, and two Play:1’s in my living room. I have a profile for my living room, I can make a profile for my office and bedroom, but how can i choose to play music through ALL of these at the same time? I bought these so that they can be connected, and it seems like the only way to do this is to create a profile for the entire house, in which case i would have to either manually mute the speakers in the rooms i don’t want it to play, or delete and recreate my room profiles anytime i wanted to listen to music. Or, Imagine if you have a speaker inside and one outside. There are times when you would want to be able to play on both speakers for guests inside and outside the house, and
The Beam has lip sync problems with the new 43’ QLED TV when audio is delivered to it in dolby. No sync error with PCM. From a cursory reading on here it seems Samsungs generally work with Sonos (ie without sync errors). Other than adjusting to PCM are there other settings I could adjust to retain dolby while eliminating the delay?
Hi, I have a Sonos Five which I use for my vinyl player/AirPlay from my phone. It happens to sit next to my TV so I thought it’d be a good idea to also try to get the two connected in order to watch some movies. After doing some research, I’ve hit a brick wall and I’m baffled as to why I’m unable to connect it to my Samsung TV via bluetooth/wifi. It seems only way to do it is using optical to 3.5mm cable/converter combo but other than the obvious issue of the jack already being occupied, internet suggests also that there is a slight lag causing lip sync issues. Has anyone figured out how to connect it using bluetooth/wifi? Funnily enough I can AirPlay a movie from my phone to TV (Netflix) while connected to the Sonos and it works fine but obviously is a bit of a pain to set up each time. Any suggestions/help would be appreciated. Thanks
Hello. Long time Sonos Fan, we have a number of sonos units all over both homes. In the past we travel between our weekend place and our home in the city, open the app and sonos works ( see all the available zones , ect ). Welcome the new S1 app, now via the IOS app I can only see the zone in our weekend home, even if we are not on that wifi network. Is there a work around ?
I just made some changes to my AV setup, and now the volume controls for the Beam are stuck connected to the TV remote. Before: Audio output: Beam connected to LG smart TV via Hdmi/Optical audio adapter. Video input: Chromecast, PS4, Nintendo Switch Status: When directing TV audio output to Beam, was able to control volume using TV remote. When audio output is through TV speakers, the remote will have no effect on the Beam (i.e. playing music out of the Beam while using the TV for video games) Now: I just set up the Altice One cable box, which has replaced the HDMI port used by the chromecast. This device also replaced my wifi router, so I had to reconnect the Sonos system to the new network. I also had to update the app (Sonos Controller) to the latest version. Now, when I am listening to music on the Beam via Sonos app and have TV audio set to TV speakers, the TV remote will still control the Beam, even though the Beam is not receiving TV audio. I have tried using the remote while th
I am running SONOS CONTROLLER FOR MAC v.11.1 Under MANAGE, UPDATE MUSIC LIBRARY NOW is greyed out. This has only happened recently. Is there a solution? My system comprises
Hello Sonos world, When it’s working, it’s perfect. Unfortunately, and unpredictably, my Sonos Beam volume stops being controlled by the Apple TV remote. I am still able to control volume from my Sonos app, but the volume controls on the Apple TV remote stop controlling volume. My setup is as follows: Samsung QLED display Sonos Beam connected via HDMI-ARC port Apple TV connected to Samsung TV via HDMI Sometimes I’ll play music via the beam from my Macbook Pro (via the Sonos App), as you might expect. This is usually the culprit for the problem, but I can figure out a way to revert back to the correct set up (where the Apple TV controls the volume of the TV via the Sonos). Has anyone experienced this? I’m not even sure which machine to restart or which hardware is causing the problem. Likely the Sonos, but is there something I can do to mitigate this? Thanks Sonos hive!
Hi All, I have my Firestick 4k plugged into HDMI 4 and my Sonos Arc into HDMI 1 (ARC channel). I set my sound settings on the Vizio p65 TV to bitstream (but tried auto as well). Sound settings on Firestick is set to “Always DD+” I tried several shows on both Netflix and Amazon Video with no luck in getting the Sonos S2 app to show the Dolby Atmos logo in the now playing screen. On the P65 (TV) remote, I can press the “Info” button, and it shows I am getting Dolby audio, but I suspect it is not Atmos. I’ve tried Jack Ryan season 3 ep 8, I tried Better Call Saul Season 4, Baby Driver, and a few others. Is the S2 app glitchy? I tried it on both an Android phone and an Iphone. Am I really not getting Atmos? Where do you think I am going wrong?
App upgraded to S2 and settings all carried across, except the above will not work. App says wireless network will not support sub or rear speakers but the sound bar works. My router and network settings have not changed so why have they stopped after the app upgrade? It doesn’t suggest how to resolve it as the speakers work fine when unpaired from the bar and sub. Sonos say that nothing should have changed. Anyone else have this problem?
I’m experiencing a problem where the surround sound works only partially. I have the beam and two play ones as my surrounds on my 2019 TCL ROKU 6 Series (plugged in thru the ARC). Using the built in apps on my TV, the surround works on Disney+, Amazon Prime, and the Dolby Channel, as well as my local antenna. However, audio from Netflix, Hulu, HBO GO, ESPN, YouTube, Showtime, and more seem to be stuck in stereo and will ONLY play on the beam itself. Is this caused by the lack of support for Dolby Digital+ and is there a way around this?
Hi, I recently bought Sonos Move and I’m really astounded by its sound quality. I use this speaker literally in every room in my flat. Now I’m considering buying Sonos Beam to improve my TV sound quality. The only thing I’m concern about is the loudness level of the Beam. I read some opinions that it’s not loud enough for some people. Does anyone has got both speakers and can compare their max volume level? For example, the max volume of Beam is about 60% of Move, etc.. Second questions, how would you compare sound quality for both speakers? I know it might hard because it’s a different sound system, but just give your personal feeling about it. Thanks in advance.
We’ve had a Sonos One for 18 months and a Beam for about 6 months. In all honesty the Beam has been troublesome from the start but now neither speaker works unless one is directly connected to our router with an Ethernet cable. Our hub hasn’t changed and I have tried to re-set up the system but if you remove either from the Ethernet cable all of them disappears meaning we can’t play music through them. Interestingly I can still get Alexa on the 1 but it won’t find it on Airplay. Any ideas. I have tried using the support guide - but couldn’t get any answers there
System is as follows: LG OLED65C8PUA Sonos Arc 5.1 w/sub and two Sonos One-SL Tivo, Apple TV, Blu-Ray Player I have had my Arc system for a few days. At various times, the audio cuts out and the TV’s internal speakers take over. After a few seconds, the Sonos white light starts flashing and eventually, switches back to the HDMI-ARC restoring full audio. I have tried several cables and still experience the problem. The last time it happened, I submitted diagnostics: 444199566. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hello, I wonder if the function to swap left and right speaker of the Beam/Soundbar could be an option to have in future updates of the Sonos app? I've seen some topics about it, but all closed and no official announcement about it. Owning a video projector, this function, would help a lot for having good configuration, allowing upside down mounting on the ceiling or even having the beam in the back, behind the sofa… Don't you agree? Thanks!
I have a Playbar and I am using two Sonos/Ikea Symphonisk speakers for surround sound speakers. I am looking to add a Sonos Subwoofer to complete the system. Would the sound be any different/more superior with a Gen 3 vs a Gen 2 subwoofer?
Hi there. Complete Sonos newbie and hoping someone can help… I installed my new set up over the weekend, comprising Sonos Arc + sub (gen3) + 2x One SLs as surrounds. Initially, I had all four components set up wirelessly over my home network and everything working great. I then did some reading over the weekend about SonosNet (tbh, wasn’t even aware of it ;). The Arc and Sub are both within easy reach of a gigabit switch so these are now connected via ethernet. Under ‘About my system’ the Arc and Sub both show WM:0. I also disabled Wi-Fi for both and noticed that SonosNet channel was now enabled under Network (had auto-selected channel 6). OK, now I’m getting to it… My expectation was that the two One SLs (surrounds) would now be connected wirelessly by SonosNet rather than via my home network. I checked under About my system, and they both showed as WM:1 (I was also able to confirm that they were still wierlessly connected to my router). I unplugged the two One SLs overnight but
I have (2) play 5 gen 2 and a sub gen 2 as a stereo pair. If I add a new arc what is the functionality of the system? Will I still have a dedicated stereo and acr function wit sub as home theatre?
So I finally received my Sonos Arc and One SLs today. Unfortunately, I will not get the sub for a couple of weeks. As a first time Sonos owner, the setup was super easy And uneventful connecting the Arc and Ones together. I have an LG OLED B8 series TV with AppleTV 4K. I mention this because I do not have eARC, so I do not get true Dolby Atmos (DA). But I have noticed that plugging the Arc sound-bar into the HDMI ARC does NOT sound as good as plugging it into the optical and changing the the TV output to internal TV speakers + optical with DA and adaptive sound turned on. I believe the is the lossy DA I have read about (basically Dolby digital+). It is nice! I do look forward to hearing true lossless DA at some point. I have spent the past few hours on YouTube (with Apple TV in the HDMI ARC) and looking and listening to DA tests, samples, movie trailers and frequency tests. As most have probably heard about the bass issues, yes I notice it and duplicate it.
