Hi everyone, I will be replacing my Beam with the Arc in our family room. I have the Beam power cord fished through the wall adjacent to the fire place and I am hoping the Arc uses the same power cord so I don’t have to run that through the wall again? Thanks!
Dear community.I am interested in the Sonos ARC and would like to install it according to the setup in my sketch below. My TV (55 ") is attached to a cupboard wall. Underneath is a niche in which I want to install the soundbar. This niche is 55cm high and 47cm deep. And underneath of that, another 21cm high drawer. My question is whether this will have a major impact on sound reproduction or acoustics? Will the dolby atmos functionality still work properly? Or is it therefore not recommended to choose a soundbar with dolby atmos? Is it an option to mount the soundbar a little lower in the niche to have a better soundquality (preferrably not)? Thanks in advance!
Hello and thank you in advance for any help with this question. I have 4 rooms that I am trying to setup for music streaming (dining room, living room, gym, kitchen). All 4 of the rooms have their own existing speakers/amps that I either use a 3.5mm jack or Bluetooth to play music through. I would like to keep my existing speakwr/amp combos as it is all nice equipment with good sound. I however would like to be able to control all 4 of the rooms with a system like Sonos, so that I could have the same music playing in any or all 4 of the rooms at the same time. I am getting lost in that every system I seem to look at wants me to use their speakers/amps. Almost all the music I play is through Spotify on my phone. Thank you, Will
In the most recent S2 12.1 update, we see Sonos supporting 5ghz on various products. What does that mean for existing users? And how will it affect users who incorporate mesh networks at their homes?
Hi - Pretty sure im not the only one but i’m extremely confused by the the trade up and whether my products are compatible with S2. I have an old play 3, play 1, connect amp and a bridge.. On the my system page under the upgraded section it lists the connect and bridge. I can print off a shipping label for these. Does this mean that if i send them off then i will get a free replacement sent to me? On the trade up page i see my play 1 and play 3 as expected. And i’m able to use the 30% offer. Im interested to find out as i wanted to upgrade to a new play 3 and a sonos beam set with 2 play1’s and a woofer. Im holding back on this purchase as i’m unsure what i need to do with the connect amp and boost. Im also a little concerned about system reception, as it stands its a little flakey and im unsure as the whether it has fallen back to wifi rather than sonos mesh. Will the connectivity be better with s2, i have sky, will that still cause issues as it does now. Thanks for your hel
I have a 2016 Sony XBR-65X930D. According to the specs, it has Dolby Digital Plus which according to Dolby, supports Dolby Atmos. After finding this, I bought a Sonos Arc to get Dolby Atmos. I have not been able to connect to Atmos. Not a single stream service (Netflix, Amazon Prime, or Disney+) appear as having Atmos and movies that are D Atmos, doesn’t show the logo. All I can get is Dolby 5.1. I'm using the Sonos 2 app. I updated the firmware of the TV to the latest (Android Oreo) I have tried all possible sound settings on the TV including connecting to the HDMI ARC and the optical output I set the speakers to Audio systemCan someone help me!??? Thanks!
2020 Samsung q series with eArcarcgen 3 subgen 2 ONE x24K Apple TV Super stoked. Everything including Atmos works and sounds amazing except when I walk away for 30+ minutes with something paused and the aerial screen saver kicks in. After canceling the screen saver and unpausing whatever I was watching the volume is at minimum and I have to manuallyraise it back up. The amount of time it takes to raise it back up makes it feel like it was somehow in the negative. Tv auto play on or off changes nothing. Thanks for reading.
OK. I have my new Sonos system almost working right. It’s not “surround” but working the way I want and can group as needed depending where I am in the apartment. Beam - working w/ Samsung TV connected to TiVO & ATV. Beam successful paired w/ TiVO remote & ATV remote to control Beam volume. Couldn’t get the Samsung One remote to work following the official instructions, which is ok because the TiVO is the main remote. One - placed to the right of the couch Move - charger base placed left of the couch Again, I know I can’t do surround, which is fine because I like being able to take the Move to various parts of the apartment and and group/ungroup as needed. Basically, my apartment is long so I want to be able to hear the TV while I’m cooking/at the dining table, etc and the Move provides flexibility + can take to bedroom, bathroom, terrace so I opted for this setup. What I can’t do is, when I’m watching TV and I want to mute sound, the remotes only mute the Beam. The
I have six Sonos Play 1 speakers, with an Orbi router and one Orbi satellite. All speakers are wireless. Lately, I've had issues with some speakers (rooms) not being available depending on whether I'm looking at my PC, my iPhone, or my Ipad. It's not consistent from device to device. All are using the same wireless SSID. Sometimes the iPhone app indicates I'm on the wireless network, but it can't find the Sonos speakers on it. Sometimes 1 speaker shows up. Also, when I go into the web-based admin setup for the Orbi, the device lists indicates that all Sonos speakers are "wired" devices; they are not. Because I can't set IP addresses for each speaker, I'm relying to Sonos to do some magic with a combination of the speakers themselves and the app (on my phone or iPad which are inconsistent) and have become frustrated trying to troubleshoot where the problem is. I've not yet connected my Playbar for fear of becoming all the more frustrated with the process. I love the speakers
I currently run my Xbox one X with Playbase, Subwoofer and two Play Ones. I have pre ordered the new Xbox Series X and I am going to purchased a new 2020 4K TV (prob the Samsung Q80T). Is my Sonos system compatible? THANK YOU!
I have a 5.1 setup with a playbar and 2 play:1 speakers. The playbar (only the playbar) randomly makes a beeping noise. My diagnostic number is 1783705665. The playbar is connected through optocal to an LG OLED55C9PLA which is only a few months old.
Hello all…..I have a pair of B&W bi-wire capable floor speakers and want to know if I can Bi wire them to the Sonos amp? Thanks
I see people have been requesting this for years, has Sonos just ignored it? Why can't there be an option to limit the volume on startup???
Hi!I want use Sonos Amp and Line Output converter to connect Amp to active speakers. What parameters should have converter to minimize power consumption of all system and keep sound quality?Sonos Port isn’t an option.
All of this is the new so the latest model/version. I have 6 amps and 1 port. I want to plug 2 TV's into 2 of the amps via the optical to hdmi connection. I can only seem to get one of TV'S to work on the amps and just looking at the Sonos app I don't see how I would even pick which TV I wanted to use. Is this possible and if not are there any workarounds? The goal is to be able to play the audio of those 2 TV's across the different amps. Thanks
Hey all, I have basically the same set up as the guy in this post https://en.community.sonos.com/home-theater-228993/epson-2150-projector-chromecast-beam-6817676, only instead of a chromecast, I have a Amazon Fire stick. I have the same HMDI switch he has (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K7BZ1XC/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_1) I’ve set up as follows. HDMI 1 in: Amazon Fire Stick, Output HDMI: Epson 2150, SPDIF: Beam connected through optical cable. For the HDMI switch itself, I have it set to Pass and Channel 1. The problem is, when I go through the TV set up in the Sonos app, I get stuck at the Enable CEC step. When i test connection it eventually says “CEC no connected”. Has anyone run into this before? I’ve enabled the fire stick to send out the Dolby digital signal, but doesn’t’ seem to help. Anyone got any ideas? I’m at a total loss. I appreciate any help you have!! -Jon
We have Sonos, Google Home, Google assistant or dot and Spotify amongst others. Why can we not connect Sonos to Google Home when we are English speaking, but resident in Portugal? Look forward to receiving an answer to this. Everything else here is interconnected.
Hi i have a connect amp is it gen1 or gen2?
I recently bought 2 Monitor Audio CP-CT380 and Sonos Connect AMP 2 revision. And I get a very sharp and screaming sound, low frequencies are muddy and accentuated, adjusting the low and high frequencies does not help. On some tracks, I think it's starting to sound normal, but mostly it's really annoying. For example, 1 pair of Sonos One Sl sounds good, and Sonos Play 5 sounds great.Today I plugged in a 13-year-old Yamaha RX-V363 and my jaw dropped! Monitor Audio sounds great! I have a Sonos Arc that also has a metallic sound. I used to be very happy with Sonos Play 5 2-nd, but now I'm just disappointed. Sonos, what's wrong with your hearing? Why is there such a disgusting sound on some of your devices?
I have ordered a Sonos Five recently and I am quite curious to know how much power does the Sonos Five deliver or the wattage or how low does the Sonos Five go? There is no relevant information available on Interent. Also, does the Sonos only use the 2.4GHz bandwidth? If so, can I switch between 5GHz and 2.4 GHz, when not using and using the product respectively? Regards,SB
Which is a better buy? Sonos Five pair with Sub Gen 3 vs Kef LS50 Wireless from pure sound quality perspective. Both these configurations are similarly priced (LS50 Wireless is on same for quiet sometime for $1700). I have heard pair of Sonos Five. While I like the music coming out of it, I think it does not match anywhere closer to Kef LS50 Wireless. But I am not sure adding a sub gen3 to Sonos Five changes the equation. Reason for my question is, I am already in Sonos eco system (Move, Arc with Sub and One SLs) and so wondering if I should continue expanding in Sonos eco system or go with Kef LS50 Wireless. I understand I can buy Kef LS50Wireless and connect it to Sonos Amp but that again changes the pricing, hence wanted to know between Kef LS50 Wireless and Sonos Fives with Sub
I have fairly small living room (about @15-20 sq. m) and my current setup is: Beam + 2 Symfonisk as surrounds (+ when listening music) and Move. I would like to get Five as my main music player but would that be overkill in my small condo? Symfonisks as stereo pair and Move are already pretty good in it. What you guys think I should get next?I'm getting 65" inch TV with Dolby Atmos, should I get arc with it? Ive been super happy with beam tho..
In my main space in my home I am currently running the Beam, Sub and 2x Play 1’s set up. My listening is 75% music / 25% media. I’m underwhelmed with the Beam for music and am considering a slight upgrade to the Amp and some smaller bookshelf units for some better sound. Right now I’m looking at the Jamo S 803, Elac Debut 2.0 and the AudioEngine P4’s. I don’t have a ton of space but would like some slightly bigger sound. I’d like to go with the 4.1 set-up so I can add a future record player so the Arc isn’t an option. I’m curious if anyone is running any of these pairings and can offer advice on what type of sound upgrade I could expect over the Beam? Thanks so much
Hi the wife wants a fake wall and the tv recessed in it.Can I position an ARC or BEAM in their own recess or will they not perform unless mounted on the wall? e..g
Not sure it is possible to get Dolby ATMOS through the Sonos Arc, but it maybe then someone has found a TV that is compatible.
