I’m new to Sonos, received my Arc Home theater set up (Arc, Sub, 2 ONE SLs) and had no issues setting it up to my LG tv eARC for my AppleTV 4K and Playstation Pro. Actually a very enjoyable set up experience! So all of the AV setup is done, good to go. Problem I’m having now is I also have a turntable in the living room. My goal is to have it sound as good as I can though my Arc but I have concerns that the analog to digital happening in the Sonos Connect is crushing the sound cause right now, Apple Music through the Apple TV is sounding MUCH better then when I play the turntable through the Connect > Arc. Over on Reddit I learned about this community and post about line in level matching my output and the equation to convert my cartage and preamp numbers to figure out what output level I should put it at. By default the app had 2 selected, using 10 certainly helped but according to the equation, I need to go above 10 (enter Spinal Tap joke here). I have an Ortofon 2M Red cartridge
I’m planning to set up an amp with four speakers--two sonance outdoor speakers and two previously installed ceiling mount outdoor speakers (this is replacing an older generation amp that does not support S2). How can I make sure the volume level between the four will balance? Thanks!
I have a playbar and 2 play1s set as surround sound, the playbar is linked to my tv via optical link. While watching the tv I get the tv sound but also get ambient noises through the surround speakers that is unrelated to the tv programme
Hi, I currently have two in-ceiling speakers installed in my basement, which I intend to use for a home theatre. I was considering the Sonos Arc given its support for Dolby Atmos at a reasonable price. However, I was wondering if using the in-ceiling speakers in tandem with the Arc for surrounds would have an enhancing effect, negligible difference or an adverse impact. My worry is that the in-ceiling speakers may interfere with the up-firing speakers on the Arc… is this something that Trueplay will calibrate for? Additionally, my in-ceiling speakers are slightly offset and the TV does not sit perfectly between them on the left/right plane. Would that suggest that their use as surrounds may be sub-optimal? Thanks,
I need advice for getting Sonos surround sound. I am interested in buying an ARC and would like to run 2 two Sonos 1’s as my rear speakers. I know with older S1’s you need the connect. Is the same true of the Gen 3’s? I am also thinking I may need/want to get a new tv which would likely have Bluetooth connectivity. Is that the best way to connect to surround sound? Thanks.
Hi. I have a Sonos 1, Sonos Playbar for my TV ( very soon I will also be buying the new Sonos acr TV speaker) and a Sonos 5 with a line input. I also have a very good sounding blue tooth speaker and would like to know if i can connect it to my sonos system so that when i listen to music from my 3 sonos speakers I will also hear the music from my blue tooth speaker. I know Sonos now sells a speaker that is blue tooth compatible but as i already own 3 speakers ( soon to be 4) , I don’t particularly want to buy the newish sonos blue tooth speaker, when i already have a perfectly good speaker that i could use. Please have you any advice how this can be done . Many thanks. Jimmy
Hi,New on the forum, but not new to Sonos or Hi-Fi.I have an old turntable which I used to connect to a pre-amp and speakers 15 years ago.Now I’d like to use the same turntable with my Sonos. I’m married, so I don’t have endless options in terms of moving stuff around the living room. I can’t even have the turntable next to the Sonos making wired connection difficult,Q: Can I connect the turntable/pre-amp to a Sonos Port or similar and “stream” this to my Sonos speaker(s)?
My Sonos Arc randomly drops audio here and there. Diagnostic: 290190921
Hello,I recently set up my Sonos Arc, but I can’t get Atmos through my Xbox One S. Here’s my set up…Samsung 55” Class 4K Ultra HDXbox One SSonos Arc (connected to the TV via arc HDMI) Any help would be appreciated.
Sorry for asking a newbie question that’s been asked and answered before. In our current house, the rooms and the backyard are wired for speakers. Our main use is watching TV on 3 Definitive XTR-60 speakers and a subwoofer on a Marantz SR6008, which also runs surrounds in the ceiling. I get Netflix, Amazon, Vudu, etc. on an LG TV, and play the sound back through the Marantz. Secondary use is streaming music over various wired speakers indoors and outdoors, all wired to the Marantz. This all works We are moving to a house that’s not wired. My hope is to: Hold onto the Definitive L/R/C/subwoofer Add wireless surround speakers Keep the SR6008 if possible. I have been thinking about upgrading to an SR8012. Will this help with the connectivity? Use the TV as the source for Netflix/Amazon/Vudu. The TV does HDR, don’t want to lose that by streaming from a device that doesn’t Place wireless speakers in a couple of rooms as well as one or two places in the backyard. Main use will be stre
Hi Sonos team,I fail to set up up a surround system. I recently bought a Sonos SL and Sonos One to be matched with my Sonos Beam. I am able to play stereo through all of them simultaniously but when I want to set up surround it mentions something like “There was a problem adding the surround speaker. Please make sure the surround speaker is connected to power and wifi”. The Beam is directly connected to the routher while other devices are on Wifi. Would anyone have a solution to this issue?
I have installed a new arc to my system , I already have 2 ceiling speakers I am looking to use as surrounds with my arc and sub but I can’t get any sound out of them ? Both the arc and amp are hard wired to Internet and the app lets me set it all up just can’t get any sound ????
I upgraded to the new Sonos S2 App about 2 months ago, assuming it would make my life easier, have better connectivity and generally be an upgrade. So far I’ve found it riddled with errors, it quite often doesn’t show my system and has delays (if it responds at all) to all my actions whether it’s volume control or changing songs. I’m using iOS on my iPhone 10 and my MacBook Pro (as well as my girlfriend using her iPhone) and across the board it doesn’t work. My question is what’s causing all these errors, will they be fixed soon, or is there something I can do to fix it? Thanks in advance
I have just downloaded the latest version of the S2 app on to my MacBook Pro and it cannot find my system. I have tried to connect to an existing system but it just can’t find it.Has anyone else had this issue and knows how to fix it? Thanks in advance.
My surround setup stopped working recently. It’s unclear what the reason is. My ip ranges changed due to a new modem and needed to reconfigure my sonos system. However i don’t think that is the reason…My setup:TV audio out: HDMI / ARC: auto (setting it to PCM makes no difference)DTV audio: auto (setting it to Dolby Digital makes no difference)My Beam is setup with two play1 speakers but audio input still says Stereo 2.0 when i look at “About my system” in the system settings section in the app.I tried everything imo…Any suggestions?
I have two iPadsipad Air 3rd generationipad 6th generationBoth have the same Sonos app (the latest one), the same apple software version (14.0.1), and the same settings for Sonosbluetooth onlocal network onbackground app refresh onsonos version 12.1.1build 60.3.81250Sonos ID 114995034The iPad Air is used to control a pair play 1’s and is very unreliable. Often it won’t connect, sometimes it will play but then we can’t stop or alter volume. (It works perfectly in all other ways.) The other iPad, when tried, works perfectly! How do I fix this? Any help would be gratefully received. Thank you.
Buenas tardes.Quisiera saber si sonos arc y ps5 es compatible con el sonido 3d tempest.Gracias.
My 2008 Panasonic plasma TV is still going strong - making it a tough negotiation with my wife to replace it with an OLED that will give as good a picture! My viewing is mainly through Virgin Media V6 … and sometimes Blu-ray.I’m about to hit the ‘Buy’ button for the Arc (although it does look like there’s a shortage at the moment). My TV doesn’t have an ARC HDMI … but I’ve read that I would need to connect with an HDMI optical adapter … but that would mean ATMOS wouldn’t be possible??So I was wondering if it might be possible to use an HDMI splitter - HDMI cable from V6to the splitter and then one HDMI to TV for picture and a second HDMI to the Arc for sound.Any thoughts on if this would work … or any better suggestions (other than buying a new TV) 😄Thanks ...
HelloSo frustrated not to be able to play apple music for a few weeks. Is there anyone who can solve this, please?
Hi,I've been using the Sonos app for a while, but I've been bothered by the fact that the alphabetic order isn't working as it's supposed to, as shown below: Even though it says 'A', the first album to show up is starting with an '1' - I have no clue what to do with this. Is it an known bug or am I doing something wrong? I use Apple Music and the Sonos application for Mac. Help would be appreciated! Dani
I have been listening to my TV (15 years old) via a connect 120 (legacy) to HiFi speakers for over 10 years with no problems, but now I would like to buy a new TV. No models now appear to have analog out so I am considering using a DAC between the TV Optical and the connect amp.I suspect that I will suffer from audio delay which I will not be able to cure and which is not acceptable.Has anyone else used this setup with success? I would love to know before lashing out on a new TV.Regards,John
Apple has done a major update to the Apple Music App interface. Will Sonos be updating the interface in the Sonos S2 app to match? Thanks.
We’re building a new house, and in the living room will have a gas fireplace on one wall, with ledge-rock-looking tile around the fireplace up to the ceiling. We have a large thick natural-edge walnut mantle above the fireplace and plan on mounting a Sony 65” AH8 above the mantle with enough room to either put the Arc under the TV, mounted to the ledge-rock or hung from the TV mount.Any thoughts on how to mount the Arc using the wall mount sold by Sonos over the rock, or are we going to have to mount the wall mount to the drywall, then tile around it?IF possible, we’d like to hang the Arc under the TV mount, but, have not been able to find a mount that has such an option, or any kind of a third-party hanger for the Arc.Thanks!
I’m replacing my 5.1 wired home theatre system with a a SONOS Arc and Sub. The Arc is installed, the Sub is on back order. I was considering replacing the two rear speakers with SONOS One SL’s. The current speakers are attached to brackets close to the ceiling. I was thinking that I could use the SONOS One Mounts to mount the speakers. Then the issue becomes power. I was thinking (hoping) that I could get an electrician to set up an outlet in the attic, and run the power cords through the existing speaker wire holes and plug into the outlet. Is this a reasonable approach?
Brand new Playbar, brand new Sony TV. My Synch’s late on the audio at times by 3-4 frames. It’s driving me nuts. Adjusting synch on the app does no good. Interestingly we also have the identical Sony TV with a Beam, a sub and back speakers, which is in perfect synch. All installed by professionals. Any help? Thanks in advance, Bob.
