I have a Panasonic OLED 65FZ950U. The HDMI cable from the beam is plugged into the ARC port on the TV. Sometimes when I turn the TV on, no sound comes from the beam. I check the TV sound setting and its set to TV, I change it to Home Cinema and a message pops up Invalid operation. I then unplug the HDMI cable from the beam, plug it back in and after a few seconds I get sound from the beam. TV HDMI input setting is set to digital. Not sure if this is a TV or Beam issue.
I have previously connected the SONOS playbar to an LG49SJ800V using community advice. Cannot connect successfully with LG55SK8000PLB. TV recognises the playbar via optical cable, but when optical is selected from sound out menu, no audio plays.
I upgraded the Sonos app on one of my phones to 9.0. Now I find that I have to have a Sonos "user account" registered before I'm allowed to use the app with my Sonos HT system. My controller app no longer gives me the ability to control my system. Looking through the FAQ I find the question "Why is it mandatory to create a Sonos account and register my system?" The answer given is "We believe creating a password-protected, verified, account is a reasonable precaution to take and decided to make it a requirement for all Sonos customers." "Its mandatory because we believe it should be done" is not a reason. Why would I need a password protected account to use something that was perfectly useable without it? What am I being protected from by all this nonsense? Fortunately my Mac app is still working but its a pain to use and not very convenient when all I want to do is turn speech enhancement on or off during a movie. I can't carry my computer around the house with me and use it
When the Sonos:One was released, we were told Google Assistant support was coming "in 2018". Now, Sonos Beam's press materials say Google Assistant will come "in the future". Pair that with the suggestion in the media that Google was coerced into the partnership by some kind of legal consideration (https://voicebot.ai/2018/05/18/sonos-patent-portfolio-used-to-persuade-google-to-allow-a-multi-assistant-device/). Sonos team, is this still slated to happen in 2018? Will it be full Google Assistant support, or will it be minimal support due to Google being a reluctant partner? Hoping for the best. Thanks!
I just added 2 Sonos One's to my Playbar with Sub as surround sound speakers (5.1 theater config). Music sound level is good but Alexa voice volumn level is too LOW! I can hardly hear her response even when I am very close to the Sonos ONE. If I touch the Sonus ONE to increase the volumn it causes all the speakers to increase in volumn (and Alexa voice volumn is still too low). Anyone having this problem and/or know a solution for it? Is there possible an issue using Sonus ONE in a surround configuration?
My playbar has been dropping my TV audio. This problem happens to me randomly at least twice a week. I have also tried to play Pandora and I get no sound. The speakers grouped with it will play the TV audio. My diagnostic number is 126502693. Please help. I am about to get a center channel for another room and I can’t justify a Sonos if I can’t fix these issues.
Good day, Seems like im one of these lucky folks who a sales man managed to win over me... I seem to have bought 2x play 5 2x play 1 1x Sub 1x Beam The setup I was aiming is pretty simple Beam for middle and tv input sonos 5's for left and right sonos 1's rear left and right and well sub oubviously... And I seem to have passed the 30 days return... So what do i do? Is there any plans from sonos from letting us setup our own 5.1 or some day 7.1 setup? Thanks!!
What is the difference in how my SONOS devices connect (or how they can connect when I add devices)? I have a Playbar in my main room, a Play:One in my office, Beam in the Master, and a Connect:Amp in the basement for my kitchen ceiling speakers... All are connected via Ethernet to my network because I was always concerned about wifi traffic. I happened to see the Boost device, which seems to make its own wireless network for only Sonos devices, which sounded good... Then, I read somewhere that the devices themselves can go into BOOST mode, which means they would create their own separate wifi network (?) if at least one was wired... So you don't need to buy the extra device. Then I read somewhere that ethernet-connected and BOOST-connected devices can't group/talk to each other. The reason I ask for clarification is that there does not seem to be anything posted that really explains all of these methods of connectivity in detail all together. I am trying to piece it toge
I have a Play 5 and the Marantz turntable. What would be the best preamp to get so that I get the same output levels as I do when streaming (or better)?
Ok I have my Sonos app open and music playing. While working in another program, if I need to turn down, turn up, or mute the volume I have to select the Sonos app, and either move the slidebar or Ctrl+ or Ctrl- to change the volume level. I searched the internet on how to use my PC volume controls to control the Sonos app volume no matter what program I am using. I found this (https://autohotkey.com/board/topic/89596-control-sonos-system-volume-without-interrupting-your-work/), but I do not have a clue how to go in the registry and change all this, and I do not want to mess things up, so I will not even attempt. I also found this (https://en.community.sonos.com/controllers-software-228995/allow-pc-volume-to-control-sonos-volume-5447077), and the two answers given the links no longer work. Can anyone point me to somewhere or tell me how this can be done? Thank you
Hi All So HDL has the 'works with Sonos' certification; but I for the life of me can't see how it works with Sonos at all. I found a product (Iridium) that talks to Sonos, and HDL - which kind of makes the two talk - but its not HDL working with Sonos at all, more of a control platform that talks to both of them... so I assume this isnt it. Any ideas?
I have beam, but I use two play ones for wider stereo by silencing the beam, the paired play 1’s are in stereo as my front speakers for movies with a wider sound stage than the beam itself and sound incredible with a more immersive experience from the front. Only if Sonos would come out with a center channel! Expensive to do this but sure sounds great!
See this has been asked before, it would be really useful for a watch app with just the basics of functionality, grouping, volume control and maybe skip to next song. Would find this very useful, don't need all the bells and whistles, just the key ones to manage music around the house.
I really hate this system. I tried to add a sub back onto the system. It was there before. I did that and the whole system lost connection and the tv wouldn't work. I spent the evening trying to reconnect it. Spoke to tech support for 2 hours and they told me that I needed a new router and now my tv is stuck on super loud and they said they can't fix it. It worked fine last night. Audio that requires an internet connection is a flawed system. I hate it right now and want to toss all of it in the trash!
Suitability for areas of high humidity
This took awhile to lock in, hopefully this helps others. 1. Set up the playbar on the tv as a Denon and use remote type 3 2. In the Sonos app, set up the LG remote 3. For the Tivo remote, hold mute & tivo button and type in code 1234
Sonos has made it pretty clear Home Theater is not a priority for them. I was really hoping for an announcement at CES but while other companies were running laps around their decades-old audio codec support, Sonos was nowhere to be found (unless you count their panel on gender equality in the industry). Sennheiser's CES offering seems to deliver everything I am looking for and more. Can't wait until this comes to market. https://www.engadget.com/2018/01/11/sennheiser-ambeo-3d-soundbar/
I have about a 2,000sq foot open concept ground floor that is sort of horseshoe shaped and includes an office, dining room, living room, kitchen and den in one sort of continuous wrap around area. I want to fill it with sound from lots of sources for a very wide sound stage for music. My budget is about $1,600 so here is what I'm looking at: Starting on left end of horseshoe a play 1, then progressing into the living room a Play 3. Corner of living room a sub, opposite side of living room going into kitchen a play 3, far end of kitchen in den area a play 1. Pair both 3s in stereo and true play tune w sub. Pair both play 1s in stereo mode as well so you stand in center you have a play 1 and 3 on the left as left channel and a play 1 and 3 on right as a right channel. Group the whole thing together. My reasons are as follows.....2 play 3s and two play 1s (all are 15 feet from each other) are better sound stage than a pair of play 5s. I want to be able to stand almost anywh
After updating to 9.1, the alarm fade in stopped working. Have it set on a radio station, which now starts in full volume. Anyone having same issue and possible suggestions?
I'm trying to find out what the best TV (preferably 4k) would be for me to buy for my set up of playbar, playbase and x2 play 1's
We install security cameras and door stations and have been very happy to see Sonos integrate with IFTTT. One thing we've been able to do is have Sonos play a doorbell sound when someone presses the doorbell button on a video door station. However, it would be nice if Sonos would resume playing whatever it was playing prior to the doorbell sound being played. The current behavior is to play the doorbell sound and then music play stops.
So I'm getting started with Sonos. I know what I want. 2 Beams for 2 TVs and a Sub for one of them. I also would like surrounds for one of the TVs and I have a set of outdoor speakers I'd like to power. I'm considering in ceiling speakers but would also consider Play 1s. The question... Should I go with a Sonos Amp or do I go with a Connect module and can I add a multi-channel amp to that? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
I'm considering buying the Playbar for our new apartment.. But I have some thoughts before I buy (besides the high price tag). I already have 2 Play:1s which I plan to be back surround speakers. But I'm unsure about some things: 1. Is it not possible to connect the Playbar wirelessly to the network without the Sonos Bridge? Or do you have to plug it directly in my router via a cable? 2. My Setup consists of a Samsung Smart Tv, a PS4 and an Nvidia Shield. Will I be able to experience the full sound experience from these sources? (PS4 and Nvidia are plugged in the TV by HDMI). I hope someone can clarify this for me. Thanks 🙂
I can not access the Music Library Settings under the Manage tab. I'm running OS X 10.10 and Sonos 9.1 I've just added the controller to my Mac Book Pro ( already have it on an iMac) Any pointers????
Called customer service 10 mins ago got connected to a guy in Edinburgh. Who asked for my name and case number which I gave him then after a few mins of him tapping the computer keys I said “hello” he said “yes still here wait abot it is busy” I stated I would like to speak to Daniel D. who is a Sonos escalation engineer to which he said “wait a bit” at which point I said please transfer me to your team leader/manger to which he said “no” I then asked for his team leader/mangers name to which he said “no” then proceeded to say I was shouting and he hung up. After writing this I am going to get all Sonos boxes out of the attic pack the stuff up and send it back to Sonos I have not spent over 4K to have issues with lag and be spoken to like that by customer service. I am truly appalled by this experience
