Does anyone see any issue with setting the Arc on top of the mantel? The TV would be just to the right of the Arc. The issue I have is that the TV is in a built in. The opening of the built in fits the TV screen perfectly so my only option would be to set the Arc on the shelf and it would block 1-2” of the bottom of the TV screen. The TV is on an adjustable mount so I could push the TV back a few inches and have all of the clearance I need from top and sides of the Arc but I think it will look a bit clumsy.
I apologize if this has been addressed, but I can’t find a straightforward answer. Has anyone tested whether sound quality is better by streaming through the Sonos app or using AirPlay/Casting to stream from the Amazon Music app? Of course this wouldn’t be an issue if the Sonos app displayed file type/size within their app.
HiI have an Amp connected via optical adapter that I use for HT purposes with a pair of Ones as surrounds and a pair of passive speakers. Content comes from an Apple TV 4K.The problem is that frequently (several times per evening) the remote (I use the Apple TV remote) stops being able to change volume. The only way I could come up with to restore this function, is to repeat the TV setup in the Sonos app. This quite time consuming of course and not a good user experience. Is this a common issue, does anyone know how to avoid this, maybe an easier way to fix or to reestablish the remote functionality?
Hi all,I just can't seem to get a 5.1 signal into my sonos :(Can someone please help me why this isn't working? The whole reason to upgrade to a new sonos amp was the surround mode :)…I hope someone can help me.Thanks in advance, Paul Tv connected and recognizes the Sonos as a Home cinema.manual settings Mi Box S. When I use auto → I get the PCM 2.0 Stereo signal in the Sonos AMP ( in about my system)When i select manual the Netflix apps does send a 5.1 signal but sonos keeps saying 2.0 silence. When selected auto audio Netflix sends this to my system (and sounds works, but not 5,1 I think :(
I have an Arc, 2 Subs and 2 one SL's. I understand that I can independently control the Subs volume in the S2 App, but what does the EQ function in the S2 App do to the Subs if you increase bass on the EQ? I'm confused as to why there is a volume control for the sub and a bass EQ. Does the bass EQ change the crossover frequency to the Subs? Thanks in advance for any and all answers!
Dear community,I am happy user of Playbar, bought it last year and sound is brilliant, unfortunately I started thinking than plain playbar is not enough to get cinema sound, and here is my question, I have not much possibilities to use like some kind of satellites or so, checked many articles and still have no idea what to add to my playbar to get 3d / surround / cinematic sound can you guys please advise what kind of speakers should I buy from Sonos as there a few types and have no idea which will match my needs, I don't think I need subwoofer as there is not much space, room is quite empty just has sofas at the back, so guys how can I make my room cinema feeling like :D
My Arc struggles to produce convincing left and right front effects, probably due to the lob-sided shape of my room. I’m wondering if I can add 2 more speakers (stereo pair) to help?
Hey everyone I’ve attached pictures of my room and was wondering what would be the best placement for two Sonos One speakers, I was thinking to put one in the corner above my bed (wall mounted) and one on my desk however I’m not sure how that would impact the sound, any suggestions? The other option is placing them above my bed wall mounted facing my computerAlso the room looks smaller / weird because of the Ultra-wide cameraThank youhttps://imgur.com/a/7DtjUNO
Why is the cost of the Surround Set 1856. and if I purchase the individual units (Arc, Sub, & OneSL) the costs are cheaper at 1677. What is the difference. Thanks in advance for your help.
Hi i have bought a arc , and i have tried trueplay whit iPhone 11 and a 6 . I tried watching Dunkirk UHD Blu ray this morning which has a DTS-HD MA soundtrack. I know the Arc cannot decode DTS and cannot currently receive 7.1 LPCM, but I thought the Xbox One X could encode Dolby digital on the fly? If I have my Xbox set to bitstream Dolby digital or Dolby Atmos I get no sound (Sonos app says it is receiving ‘silence’) from the arc if my C9 is set to pass through (eARC on). If I change the tv to PCM I get 2.0 stereo (presumably this is the tv downsampling the bitstream signal to LPCM). Given the recent C9 firmware upgrade, once Sonos have released their promised update enabling 7.1 LPCM I presume I can just set my Xbox to output to 7.1 uncompressed and away I go. However, anyone got any idea how I can get this working before then? UHDs and games with Dolby Atmos soundtracks work perfectly already btw.
I already have 2 sonos one gen 2's as stereo pair and now considering buying only 1 sonos five as a backyard speaker..Is 1 sonos five enough to give better performance then 2 sonos one's g2?..im getting bored unplugging my sonos ones from my home theater setup..
Sonos Radio. Can’t advance to next song.
Hi All,Wondering everyone’s thoughts on keeping a Sonos Move in our detached and uninsulated garage. We live in an area where temperatures can stay below freezing for weeks at a time and can get to single digits Fahrenheit (-13 C) or colder. My question is, what damage could be done to the battery or the Move itself if we keep the Move in the garage at those temperatures? Also I see the specs state that charging occurs from 0 C and above. What happens if I leave the Move plugged in and the temperature is below 0 C? Would it do any damage to the battery or it would just not charge? Thanks!
I read recently that Sonos updated the firmware to allow a 2nd sub to be added to a HT setup with compatible soundbar and at least one if the subs being a Gen 3. I already have two subs, and thinking about adding a third to the household collection - but can’t test the 5.2 config as both current subs are Gen 2s. main reason for asking is that the answer would decide whether I choose a white or a black Sub to add. IF the 2nd sub config adds a lot of benefit I’d prefer to colour match it to the existing 5.1 system. But if it is only marginal then I’ll match it to the ‘other room’ and ‘loan’ it to the HT for occasional use. EDIT: i should add that the room is approx 6.5m by 3.5m and rears are Play 5 Gen 2. thanks.
I have Arc + Sub + Rear One Surrounds for home theater paired with an LG CX. I also have a separate 2.0 system dedicated for serious music listening sessions located in the same space.I was wondering if I can get the Amp and a speaker selector switch (to switch my bookshelves between Sonos Amp and 2.0 system) but also have the Sonos Amp integrated into my theater setup so my bookshelves act as FR and FL channels when watching TV/movies? If the Amp can’t be fully integrated with Arc + Sub + One via Sonos app, what if I got an HDMI splitter to split/mirror the eArc connection from LG CX, and connect it to both the Arc and Amp? If this will work on the Sonos side, it’ll be dependent on finding an HDMI splitter that supports eARC.I would use the speaker switch to quickly toggle my bookshelves back to my 2.0 system for music listening sessions.
Hi Guys I have just purchased a Sonos beam and have connected it to my Sony Bravia OLED TV.I bought it to compliment the speakers the TV comes with (which are pretty good) but the problem is that as soom as the Sonos system is switched on/connected, the TV speakers stop working. I cannot get them both to work at the same time. I have connected the system to the HDMI Arc socket as instructed. Any thoughts guys?
HI,I own two sonos 1s and i know that they are able to be connected to apple devices via airplay 2. However, i was wondering if i bought a TV with airplay 2 technology would i be able to connect my sonos ones to it. I have been looking at the LG 43UN74006LB TV.Thanks.
Hi, I use to listen music with my itunes library, i don’t use itunes playlists. Is it work with sonos connect ?Thanks,Benjamin
Hi. I have an integrated CD/Tuner/Amp. I want to play my CDs from this unit to my sonos speakers in other part of my home. I have a Connect. The hifi has outputs for speakers and two AUX inputs (one phono and one jack).I have tried connecting the CONNECT from both its line in and line out phono sockets to the AUX on the HIfi unit without any result. What am I not doing correctly?
I have an LG OLED non-eARC TV. My main content source is Apple TV 4K and I also have an old Sony Blu-ray.With HDFury Arcana and EZCoo 4x2 Matrix switch, I have at last (I think!) sorted out the ATV and DVD sources including Atmos from the ATV playing Netflix.Occasionally we want to watch Smart TV content (eg BBC UHD streaming) but I can’t find a way to get the sound from it into the Sonos Arc.Has anyone solved this or got any great ideas to solve?
Hi allI am designing the speakers for our new games room and cinema room. The layout is: a rectangular shaped room (roughly 10m x 5m) one half has a pool table and bar, the other has a large 85inch flat screen being built into the wall. I’m looking for a system that primarily is for the TV but is also great for music. We have sonos all over the house currently my current thinking is a combination sub, arc and something for surround...which is where my question is; do I get in ceiling speakers and if so, how many do I need? Is the arc&sub enough for the cinema area and would two in ceiling speakers work at the back around the pool area? Or do I need 4 in ceiling + arc and sub? final thought is if it’s 4 I need, then should I get in ceiling for all 4, or 2 wall speakers either side of the TV with 2 in ceiling at the back?thanks - any tips would be welcome!
Do Sonos intend to integrate BBC Sounds with Sonos, as they have done with Spotify.I’m referring to various workarounds using Google Assistant or Alexa, not via AirPlay.I would like full integration as has been so well implemented with Spotify.
hello, I would like to make a request for the ability to use YouVersion Bible with my Sonos One google assistant. I am able to ask my google mini, but not with the Sonos One. please enable this. thank you
Hi all,Having read a lot of threads on Sonos surround sound, I’m still experiencing issues, and hope for some assistance in preparing my setup for a PS5 at some point: My current setup consists of a PS4, which outputs video through HDMI to a BenQ projector.Simultaniously, the PS4 outputs sound via Optical directly to my Sonos Playbar + 2 x Play:1s for surround.Setting the PS4 to output only DD5.1 via the Optical ensures that I have perfect surround sound - all good! Now, sometime in the near future I’m looking to replace my PS4 with a PS5, which lacks the Optical out port. So I was looking into HDMI audio extractors with optical out, which should be able to do the trick.I purchased this one: https://www.conrad.com/p/speaka-professional-3-ports-hdmi-switch-3d-playback-mode-remote-control-arc-audio-return-channel-3840-x-2160-p-1360279- and implemented it into my current setup between the PS4 and the Playbar, outputting sound from the PS4 via HDMI now, and extracting it from the Switch to
