We want to listen to Spotify on our Sonos and listen to a different Spotify stream on another device,I have a Spotify Duo plan in which I am the plan manger and my wife is a plan member. We want Sonos to use her member account to listen to her music while I listen to my podcasts on my manager account. How do we set this up. I’ve looked at family account advice but it wasn’t than useful.
Can I combine my existing Play 1 Gen 1 with a One SL to set up surround speakers with a Sonos Beam? Or do they need to be a pair on One SL’s to function with surround sound?
The Sonos Beam seems to be overriding the ability to use a 4 channel HDMI splitter in my TV inputs. I am trying to use a splitter to connect Apple TV (new generation), PS4, and a Nintendo Switch. The other HDMI port on my TV is used for cable TV and the other port is used for the Beam. The TV is not ‘seeing’ the available port that the 4 channel splitter is plugged into.
Hi all,I am new to sonos, loving it so far. I have the arc matched with the new LG CX. I mounted the arc to the wall using the sonos bracket. I hung the arc upside down because the bottom actually makes a great great platform/shelf for the Apple TV and the Nintendo switch. my question is, will this impact the sound quality in any meaningful way? Am I missing out on the true atmos sound doing this? Also, in terms of panning and left/right channels, does the arc auto correct being upside down or is everything reversed? Help is appreciated. Thanks!
I upgraded from the Beam to the Arc but the dialogue vs action on the Arc is abysmal. I tried turning loudness off, turned speech enhancement on, tried night setting, nothing helped. Now I sit with my remote control in my hand adjusting volume scene by scene.Has anyone found a solution to this problem? I don’t own any Apple products so Trueplay is not an option (nor should I need a 3rd party solution). Please help!
I set up my new Beam yesterday. My set up is SkyQ 2tb box, a Samsung UE43RU7100 4K TV and 2 x Play 1 speakers for Surround Sound. The Beam is connected to the HDMI ARC port on the TVMy Issue is this. If I watch Netfix or Amazon Prime directly from the inbuilt Apps on the TV the sound is syncing. The surround sound is great. No issues really at allHowever, watching anything from the Sky Box is impossible. The sound/ sync is miles out. I’ve tried adjusting the audio delay on the Sky Q box. Its makes no differnece, whatever the delay I try. I have also tried adjusting the delay on the TV setting. Again no improvement. Nor if I adjust the TV Dialog under Home Thatre in the Sonos App. Nothing enables me to get anywhere near close to being able to get the syncing right. It makes watching “TV” via the Sky box impossible. Now this is the case when I have the audio setting in my SKYQ box set as follows: Digital Output HDMI is set to Dolby DigitalIf I put this setting back to “norma
Hello, I would like to buy 2 Sonos One SL to connect them either to my TV or to my Xbox One (for movies / video games), is this possible? Because everyone only talks about Beam or Playbar on internet, but I heard the sound of the One SL and I fell in love haha and naturally I can’t buy 2 Sonos One SL + a Beam or a Playbar... I hope you can reply to me, Thank you all very much and good day !
What happens if you use a passive speaker with the Port or old Connect device? Is there no sound, or just weak sound?
Recently got a Sonos Arc Surround system and a Roku Ultra to support Atmos. I noticed two options on the Roku Ultra for audio - Autodetect or Auto Pass-through. I noticed with autodetect it is showing in the Sonos app that it is receiving Atmos signal for every show on netflix and prime, even when I’m almost positive the show should not have Atmos. When I switch to auto passthrough it seems to only show Atmos signal in the Sonos app for the shows that have Atmos.I was trying to determine if there is actually a difference in the sound quality for the shows/movies that don’t have Atmos, yet are displaying Atmos signal in the app when I have the settings on roku to autodetect. I feel like the quality may be better but it may be in my mind. Is there anything that the sonos arc could be doing to upgrade the signal or actually produce a higher quality of sound when I have the roku ultra settings set to “autodetect” instead of “auto passthrough”?Thanks for the help!Josh
Now that my son has moved out, I am converting his bedroom to a music room (current using my family room). I am using a sonus connect s15 to stream music from my MAC to my preamp. I want to still be able to listen to music in my family room using Headphones through a dedicated headphone amp. So my question is once I locate my audio equipment down stairs to my new music room, is there any way to use the Sonus to stream music to my headphone amp in the family room? Or do I have to by another Sonus connect? Thanks in advance...
Hi allNot an expert on any of this so please go easy.I bought a new LG CX, which is outputting to my beam via hdmi. I also have a pair of Play 1s as rears, and sub. Everything works great from the internal TV apps and via Sky Q This issue I have is with my PC, which is connected to the TV via hdmi. I'm trying to get it to output Dolby 5.1 but because it knows it's connected to a TV it won't. I don't think there's a way around for this without messing about with new sound card/optical cables or connecting straight to the beam from the PC - unless anyone knows different? However, the PC can output atmos (I've installed the codec) and as the CX can down-convert that to Dolby digital for the beam (as I understand it) I figured I could do that. When I try, the Sonos app reports that it's receiving a Dolby 5.1 signal, but I still get nothing from the rear speakers. What am I missing?Any help appreciated. Spent a fortune on the PC and it's annoying only to get stereo out of it.. CheersJoe
Sony 65A9G Android (all streaming via SONY Android)Sonos ARC, SUB Gen3 and BoostFIOS QuantaumSound never drops while watching TV via FIOS. Sound drops randomly when using any streaming service, Prime and Britbox are the worst. Restoring sound is different for each service. Prime is the most cumbersome, requiring me to select SETTINGS,AUDIO SYSTEM SPEAKERS TV SPEAKERS, which forces an HDMI error and causes restart of the program. Netflix is more forgiving and usually continues after the TV Speaker selection. This is my first time with Sonos products, at times I wish my Pioneer receiver and Polk sound bar were still installed. I have read many comments on this issue with no FIX offered.
So just a simple question. does trueplay tuning EQ the Left/Centre/Right channels in an Arc independently of each other or as a whole? im not asking about volume balance that is done before the tuning, I’m specifically curious about eq. for example if your left side of your arc is close to a wall and your right side isn’t, will it eq less bass from the left channel to make up from the boundary reflections from the wall? Or will it just eq all 3 channels the same?
So I’ve just gotten 2 One SL’s to use as surrounds and have tried all night tonight to get them tuned correctly. No matter what I do they are always unbalanced with the right one being to loud. I even factory reset them and swapped them to make sure one wasn’t faulty. Anyone got any ideas? One thing I’m thinking is factory resetting the surrounds and then trueplaying just the beam and then adding the surrounds and leaving them untuned and manually balancing them.
I’m thinking about purchasing the Sonos Surround Set, which includes the Arc, Sub and two One SLs. Is it possible to use the Arc as a center channel and connect two other traditional tower speakers as my front R and L speakers? Would I also need to purchase a Sonos Amp?
HiI want to use my own sub and rear speakers in my home theater. RIght now i have an arc mounted for the front three channels. But i see with the amp i can only power the sub OR the rear speakers in a surround sound config, not both. That is absurd. Anyone have a workaround that doesn’t cost $700 more?? thanks!
Submitted diagnostic #578895988. Connected via the HDMI/Arc directly to Sonos Beam. Every random 3-7 minutes tv cuts out for about 5 seconds and comes back on. Sound never cuts out.
Hi - I moved from the UK to China and now want to use QQ Music through my SONOS system as well. Reading through some articles here I understand I have to use Qplay on QQ Music, be connected to the same WiFi with Sonos and my smartphone and set the location to China in profile on sonos.com. I also updated to the S2 controller.Did all of that - but it still cannot see Sonos on Qplay. Any suggestion highly welcome - I am struggeling!thanksChris
Soundbar started buzzing last night on every channel, app - everything. My mac is fine when on youtube tv - meaning it’s not my wifi.
I would like to utilize my audio-technica AT-LP120XUSB turntable and my old Receiver/Amp to play music. I could connect wired bookshelf speakers but I would prefer to stream my music to my Sonos Move or Sonos One speakers. Is there a way to accomplish this at reasonable cost? I do have a Sonos Connect and a Sonos Bridge but I don't think that they’ll work with the new Sonos 2 Operating System. Also - the turntable is new and has a pre-amplified selector switch.Your assistance and advice will be appreciated. Thank you.
I added my new Sonos Move to the wrong email address and cannot connect it with my existing Sonos system. How do I get it onto the correct the email address?
Is er een deurbel die kan communiceren met desonos speakers en zo ja welke? Can a doorbell Connect with sonos, if so, what kind of brand/type
Hello, we have a mix of new and old Sonos devices I ended up setting up two parallell systems, S1 and S2, on our network. It works ok, with both S1 and S2 controllers on our Mac and iPhones. But on the Mac when starting or connecting to the network the S1 app it will find the S2 device first, refuse to connect and suggests upgrading. As a work around I power off the S2 device the S1 controller will connect to the S1 device and I can then start the S2 device again. On the iPhone this works as it should and connects to the correct device.Anyone else with this problems? Any suggestions or better work around?Ps I had a conversation with Sonos support without any resolution
I’m pretty sure this will get buried with all the other Youtube Music threads, but I could not find one that describes my situation. Now that Google Play Music is being decommissioned, I find myself with a prospect for a severely degraded experience.I have a Google Play Music / Youtube Music subscription (family plan, if that matters at all).I also have a Sonos Beam + 2x Ikea Symfonisk as surrounds.I want a very simple thing - to put a mix of music on my system, starting from a certain song. No offline playback, no personal library, no custom playlists.(As a bit of a background, I previously used a Google Home Mini speaker to which I could say “Hey Google, play X by Y” and it would play that song and continue a mix on Google Play Music - there was no Youtube Music back then) So how can I do that?In the Google Play Music App - search for song, hit the three dots → Start Radio. Then, click the “Cast” button and choose my Sonos setup This is the only way I found it to work satisfactory no
Hi,New to Sonos and just running this by the community to confirm understanding of how this would work before purchasing the Sonos Port. Have recently purchased a Sonos Beam for a new television and thinking to extend later throughout the house with other Sonos speakers.Have existing Denon RCD-N7 (aka CEOL-N7) with speakers and record player attached to AUX-IN-1 inputs and wanting to play both CD’s and records through to the Sonos. Am presuming Sonos Port would do the trick?Denon RCD-N7 AUX-OUT > Sonos Port InSonos Port out > Denon RCD-N7 AUX-IN-2So when playing either vinyl or CD have the Denon set to the appropriate source (CD or AUX-1) and should play through the speakers connected to the Denon and also Sonos Beam / any additional Sonos speakers? If streaming music through Sonos and have the Denon source set to AUX-2 then should get sound through the Denon speakers? If my understanding is totally wrong then please let me know what would work best for this situation. Thanks in ad
