Hi all,I have a Sonos Amp that I intend to use as the front speakers for a home cinema system. My questions is, can I combine this with a pair of Sonos One’s or Play:1’s as the rear speakers to make a surround set up?I’m pretty sure the answer to this is yes, so, follow on questions:If I do this, do the voice assistants get disabled on the rear speakers (I’ve read somewhere this might be the case, but since the Amp doesn’t have built in voice assist I’m not sure) Can I also add a sub to this set up easily - either the Sonos sub wirelessly, or a wired third party sub connected to the Amp’s dedicated sub output? Thanks!John
Hi all After having spent the last 2 or 3 hours for an answer, I give up and come here to ask my question!I own a Philips 7300 series TV (exact ref is 50PUS7354/12) and plan to buy a Sonos Arc + 2 x One SL + Sub (3). Bought in november 2019.Given the cost I would like to make really sure those Philips TV actually have eARC HDMI ports.Everywhere it mentions ARC ports. However the TV supports Dolby Atmos, so I’m quite confused... Could someone confirm this information or help me to find it, before I spend this much money on the Sonos system :)Thanks!
Ok so I've found and bought a Sonos Connect that's compatible with S2 (serial begins with 1607).Now to get some outdoor speakers. I don't have an existing system, so no amplifier to connect to. I want to do this on a budget at the moment so what's the best option? I thought I could get a pair of 'active' outdoor speakers as these have a built in amplifier. In theory they can be connected directly to the Connect right?
Where/how can I set the PRESET the Sonos-TV-Channel Sound Volume, set a DEFAULT SPEAKER VOLUME for my Sonos-TV Channel (Linked to my Playbase/Sub/Play3/ Surround HomeTheater setup via Playbase – Digital Fiber TV input)S2- TV Autoplay mode is enabled, yet seems to lag Sound Volume PRESET controls.Sonos “Playbase/Sub/Play3 Surround” group remembers last used “Room-Volume-level”, yet doesn’t remember or honor last-used - TV-Channel volume. As a result if you boost up Room-Level Volume and turn-on the TV, then same boosted-level is used for TV-channel.If you turn down Room-level, then TV-sound level is also downAt present being forced to frequently adjust the Sonos-TV Channel volume each time we turn on the TV set, most annoying
Expensive Sonos Beam Paperweight? Known Sonos Beam & Samsung UHD TV HDMI e-ARC & Optical Issues from Several Customers for Months/YearsIt would seem that if there is a known HDMI e-ARC and optical HDMI converter issue between Samsung UHD TVs and Sonos Beams and Arcs (two products) by numerous customers that have been reported and remained unresolved for months and years, then by this point some type of an official definitive resolution or determination would have been made so as to not waste the time of frustrated customers or tech support. If Samsung TVs are definitively incompatible then please just say so I can return my new TV. I have also contacted Samsung tech support about this issue. No word yet. One would think that senior management and software engineers would have elevated this to determine if there is a software, HDMI-CEC firmware, newer HDMI e-ARC cable or other solution. The optical adapter doesn't help either. Below are greater details into the issue I have been
I bought a Port yesterday to allow my Turntable to play audio through my Sonos speakers.Prior to directly connecting the turntable, I brought up my old Denon receiver from 2003 in hopes of being able to connect that, and play FM/AM radio. (Mostly for Summer baseball games, we prefer the radio announcers over the TV ones) But that receiver didn’t have a general RCA output to connect to the Ports input. It only had it via the Tape In/Out, but that only allows one device to be played. The stations app isn’t allowed to broadcast the games via stream, and I’m not going to pay for the MLB streaming app, since we only listen to our local team. But I also wouldn’t mind connecting my CD player, and old tape deck as well, so I have the option of playing all three media types through the port.So I’m curious who has a similar set up and which receiver they have to accomplish this.Much appreciated!
Hey there! Curious which source level other people have chosen for their turntable set up. I’m using a Technics 1210 mk2 with a Rolls VP29 preamp into a Sonos Amp and usually hover around 2 or 3.

I want to use Google Assistant to play my local library, but it seems to be only able to start / stop music. Is there a way to ask Google to play a specific song from my library like it would from Deezer or another service ?
Hi!If I buy a Sonos One Gen 2 and setup Alexa, will I be able to control any other alexa enabled devices, such as video doorbell or I will be able to control only this Sonos speaker? Neven
I’ve been using my Sonos One in Japan for the last year. If I move to the UK, would it be possible to use the device there if I replace the cable with the UK Angled Power Cable? Or are there differences with voltage/wiring internally in the device? Thank you.
Hi.I’m excited to have bought my first ever Sonos product today. The Sonos Arc with the Sub.It sounds awesome, but no surround and no Dolby Atmos. Our TV has standard HDMI ARC but no eARC. So I’ve bought the HDFury Arcana.I have our Google Chromecast with TV plugged into the input of the HDFury Arcana, and the eARC output of the Arcana plugged into the Sonos Arc. The HDMI out plugs into my TV.I’ve tried a number of Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+ titles, but it doesn’t seem to be Dolby Atmos. I assume it will display Dolby Atmos on the Sonos app on my phone. How can I tell? And why can’t I get Dolby Atmos? Are there any settings on the Arcana that I need to select? Have I plugged anything in incorrectly? Is there a setting on the Chromecast, the Arc, the app or something else that I need to select? At the very least I want to show the family (and myself) why Dolby Atmos sounds like. I played the Dolby Atmos demo on YouTube, but of course that didn’t play in Dolby Atmos, impressive though
Is the Sonos Library limit still approx. 65k?I ask because I am running into the Can’t Update Music Library dialog saying“There is not enough room to update your music library. Please remove unused queues or saved playlists and try again.”Is there any easy way of double checking this to make sure e.g. a diagnostic.I suppose I will have to move towards PLEX. If so it is a pity I can’t trial it first before committing as it is a big outlay for a life subscription which I figure I will need.
Over night my Beam which has been connected to this LG tv since April (which is also brand new) has stopped working. In no way can i get it working.. Silence. Using the Sonos app i tried to reconnect it and it fails with Arc mode not connected. I have checked the cables both ends and even replaced the cable and still no joy. I performed a soft reset of the TV (unplugged for over 60 seconds) followed by a factory reset. Still nothing worked. The TV now only sees the Beam as a server rather than an active port showing on HDMI 2 Arc. All other features of the Beam are working such as streaming. For info, the beam is connected to a pair of Play1s. (Original) Any ideas?
Apologies if this is a basic question. Is it possible to output from sonos amp’s banana to mini jack? Are there adapters for this and how to search for them (cables plus adapters)? Thanks in advance
My sound bar stopped powering up. Light does not com on. Have tried other outlets
This is my setup:In my living room I have four wired speakers, have just purchased a new soundbar and sub, and am looking for a new receiver. In my kitchen and on my back patio, I have four wired speakers that are connected to a Sonos Connect. I stream Apple Music through the Connect and can play the same music inside and out at the same time. I want to wirelessly pair the new receiver I am about to purchase to the Connect so I can stream music in both areas at the same time. I’m considering a Denon receiver but haven’t made a decision yet. I’m just not 100% sure how to make this happen, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I have in my great room an Arc and Sub gen 3 for watching movies etc. I also have in the same room for listening to music two play 5’s. It would e great to be able to listen to music with the sub and play 5’s with out having to decoupling the sub from the Arc. It seems to be a lot of extra work to just add some depth to my listening experience. I saw this request (now 5months old) just after receiving my Arc and Sub, but have not seen from Sonos on this topic, except it would be passed on the engineers and developers. Thanks in advance.
Hi,Sorry if I sound very frustrated - I am!My iPhone works fine with the S2 App, but my MacBookPro (my preferred method to control my system) is an absolute PITA!I am running Big Sur 11.1I am also running Norton Security Premium.Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I have played around so many times with Firewall application blocking rules, I’ve lost the plot!Does somebody know how to set this up so that it works and keeps working once I restart the machine? It’s not just that it doesn't work, it hangs, so then you have to ‘force quit’, often a number of times. Then restart the machine, then play with the Firewall rules again etc etcEverything I find seems to be old and refers to Norton 360 and even if it just refers to Norton, it is not specifically to referring Sonos S2.Thank you in advance for any help you can offer …H
Hi, I have a huge collection of live music sitting on a standard hard drive (none of which is available to stream) and understand that I need a NAS drive to be able to play any of this through Sonos. unfortunately, that’s where my knowledge stops… could I please have some recommendations as to what to buy, makes and model numbers etc that are known to work. I’ve done a little research, but I’m more confused than when I started looking. I have a very basic knowledge of computing, but can usually get things working if I have the right equipment and software. Sorry if the question has been answered many times before, but there is lots on information online which is too complicated for me to grasp...
I own brand new playbar, not even a month old, and I had a static noise. I told the store I bought it from and they replaced it, but the new one made the same noise right away. It's connected to a Toshiba Fire TV through the digital output. I have only noticed the noise when watching Netflix. and I do not have any other devices nearby causing interference (no cell phone signal, bluetooth signals or antennas) I'm not sure but it sounds like interference as it will come and go.
Room System: Playbar, One X2, Sub G2, Sub G3Wifi: Eero, single said, system connected wirelesslyI’ve added a second sub to my room system this weekend - It sounds fantastic, but I’m having some issues with the S2 app in my iPhone 12. When I configure the system for 5.1 with a single sub channel, it displays as normal in the S2 app. When I add the second sub, my S2 app on my iPhone 12 will only show the Playbar in the room, all other devices (One x2, Sub G2, Sub G3) disappear. The Sound controls for home theater also disappear. The system seems to work normally. I’ve reset the app with no success. Now, when I view the same system configuration in my IPad Pro S2 app, I can see all the devices and home theater controls. anybody else experience this, is it a known issue?Edit: iPhone 12 diagnostic report is 1011209043. iPad Pro to follow soon
Hi There I’ve just purchased 2 Ones and tried to add them as surround speakers to my Beam and they won’t connect. Looking at the system I noticed the warning message below. Any ideas as what the issue is and how to resolve it. thanks in advance
