Can we get a list of Blu-Ray players which convert DTS to DD through HDMI. Using the Xbox one at the moment but want a proper player. Samsung players do this but is it through HDMI? and are the models mentioned on sonos support from 2013? Let's get an upto date list for now n in the future.
Hi all I have the bar, woofer and 2 sonus 1’s at the rear of the room. Works great until I put sky q on then the sounds normal ie no bass and the back speakers don’t work. Any advice would be appreciated !!
Hi all, I noticed a huge difference of minimum volume on my beam if I play music or watch tv. The minimum volume of the tv is great, every increments (1, 2, 3, 4, ...) allow to finely adjust the volume at low level. However, when I play music through Apple Music the minimum volume is already too loud at increment 1. Is there a way to have the same volume level from tv and music and if possible based on the tv volume? Big issue for me because I cannot listen music on the morning when my room is fully quite.
I have a feeling I already know the answer but looking for reason to change my mind. I have a pair of PSB Image B5 bookshelf speakers (orig $400 pair) that are doing nothing. I am thinking about getting the amp to drive them. The alternative would be a single Play:5 (for the same money). I really love the sound of the PSB's with the exception of weak bass, which I expect the Play:5 to have more of. But I've never really heard a Play:5 in a "proper" environment to really hear what they sound like. If I'm trading a bit more bass for less clarity and detail I won't do it. I'm leaning towards the amp.
I am having difficulty clearing what is being played in a room or rooms. It is causing other devices to not be able to play or override what was last played in a given room. Ultimately we can get it to work, but just seems like it’s a challenge. Any others experiencing this?
Hi, I'm very excited about Sonos, and recently upgraded AV Receivers to be able to seamlessly switch inputs from CD/DVD/Phono/Sonos while using the Autoplay function in Sonos. Fantastic idea, (and very surprised not everyone's doing this), BUT I find that my system is no longer in sync (the Sonos P3's and P5 are ahead of the sound coming through the Connect via Hifi). I did not have this issue with the lower end Denon 1911, but I do now with the 3313. I can add delay with the 3313, but that doesn't help me since it's the other Sonos modules that are ahead of the Denon. Adding the possibility of adding delay (in addition to the required 70ms for processing) would make my system whole again.
My speaker system turns itself on without being prompted. This occurs day and night, but night blaring music frightens me and is persistent. At least during the day I can turn it off. There are no alarms set and I think this is a software issue. This has been happening ever since I bought the speakers and the only way to correct is unplugging the entire system. I suspect Sonos software is just plain bad, but would love a better explanation.
Hey guys have you seen Sonos one? The white white? It's beautiful isn't it?....please do this with the playbar....PLEASE!!!!
I'm looking to get a Sound Bar (Playbar or Beam) but want to know if it is possible to have the sound from the TV being fed into that sound bar also be used by one or two other Connect:Amp s that we have. This way we can have the TV sound through the in ceiling speakers and out on patio.
For some reason the account listed on the app on my phone is for my husband. I have no idea how this happened and neither does he. He doesn't know his password. I need to switch to my account on the app on my iPhone because under his account only 2 of our subs show up and we can't add anything without him being signed in. Also, we need to use my account because he doesn't have pandora without commercials and I do. You would think it would be easy to switch account of who is logged in - but this seems impossible!
Anyone have installation tips with a wall volume knob for the sonos amp and ceiling speakers?
I create Sonos Playlists from songs from Napster. Randomly, I will try to play a song in the Playlist and I will get a "Unable to Play...lost connection to Napster". I will go into the Playlist and see that about 12-15 songs have a black icon next to them (no record cover graphic) and these are the songs that will not play. I have to go and redownload every one of these songs back into the playlist and remove the "bad" song with the black disc icon. This has been a problem for years and I have been on the phone with both Napster and Sonos Support. This appears to be a Sonos problem as I have no problem playin the same songs through Napster on my laptop. When will this be fixed??? There are numerous posts from the community on this issue going back 4 years!!!!
I have 2 connectAmps with solid amber fault lights. See diagnostic 8274178.
Hello sonos! At this moment we use a wake up light where the light fades in really slowly. We would like to have the same option with or songs set-up. So an option for the alarm function in the app where we can set an amount of time for the music to reach a certain volume! Please make this 🙂
I am currently using my apple tv to send video to a projector (HDMI) and sound to my playbase (Airplay). This is not working as well as i hoped since the sound is often out of synch with the video. I am now locking for an adapter (HDMI 2 HDMI+Optical). Anyone that can help me with finding the right devise? Someone who has tried this and who is satisfied with the result?
I can't seem to get my Samsung TV (F7100) to output Dolby Digital to my Beam, only stereo. Connected with HDMI ARC and also using a Roku stick. I tried to set audio to Dolby Digital on the TV, but it's greyed out and I can't select it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Hi, I have a playbase connected to my Sony 49XF8577 by optical cable. I have disabled the TV speakers and have paired the TV remote to the Sonos. When I click the volume button I see the LED on the playbase that blinks. I have also a second remote of my cable TV that can control the TV sound level. I have two problems: - the first is that when I use BOTH remotes to change the volume they seems to produce different effects (at the same volume level indicated on the TV I can hear different actual volume). Sometimes to stop hearing I need to push the volume down button even beyond the 0 sound level shown on the TV. Sometimes the max volume with one remote seems to be capped by the other; - the second is that even when I restrict myself to use ONLY the remote coupled to the Sonos it happens that, when I play with the audio level, I end up hearing different volumes although I set the volume level to the same value (as read on the TV). E.g. I start from 0 and hear nothing. Increase t
Hello, I have unfortunately had a second component fail just outside of warranty. A Sonos: Connect. RMA cost is £250, or I can pick one up on eBay for £180. I had a search online but couldn't seem to find an answer. If I use the Sonos RMA process to get a replacement, is the replacement covered by a warranty? Thanks
So I just purchased two One's at best buy (White and Black). The black one said gen 2 which led to some confusion when I asked if I could also get a gen 2 for the white. I can't find any information about the gen 2's, except they are available on preorder at Amazon. I haven't opened the boxes yet to determine the difference. There is no information on the Sonos site about the gen 2 yet. Does anyone have any more information on what the differences are?
I recently added a Sonos Amp to my system, replacing an old traditional amplifier. I want to send the audio from my 8-year-old LG HD TV (model: 42LE5300) to the Amp but my otherwise perfectly-functioning TV only has an optical digital audio/TOSLINK output - and Sonos chose to only offer an HDMI input (and RCA component audio input) on the Amp. The NYC Sonos store was nice enough to give me a dongle (which apparently came standard with the Beam but is otherwise not available) to connect the optical digital output to the Amp via HDMI. However during setup the Amp says it does not detect an audio signal from the TV. To troubleshoot I tried connecting the dongle to the optical digital audio output of my very new cable box (a Cisco Technicolor 4742HDC2) - and the Amp still says it doe not detect any audio signal. I've read through the manuals of both the TV and the cable box to make sure that there wasn't anything I needed to do to activate the optical digital outputs (as far as I can
I have noticed the new Sony 950G television supports eARC and I assume we will see more televisions and soundbars following suit. I’m hoping Sonos will adapt this technology to their current lineup soon before they are left behind by their competition. Here’s a very good explaination of the technology: https://www.latticesemi.com/-/media/LatticeSemi/Documents/WhitePapers/AG/Lattice_eARC_WP_FINAL.ashx?document_id=52269
On my Samsung S9 I have the option to add a widget to my home screen for easier access which is great....when it actually works. I mainly used it for quick access to night mode and speech enhancment but for some reason this has intermittantly stopped working, sometimes when you go to switch NM or SE on or off they just dont work and you have to go into the app to do it. Once you have been in to the app though the buttons on the widget work again. It seems that if you force close the app this is what stops the widget from working. Is there anyway to officially report this as I find it pretty convenient having those options on the widget, just need the EQ options and level adjustments (surr+sub) on there as well and that would be perfect.
I can no longer access my SONOS controller on my laptop (where I manage all the music) because it is asking me to register my speakers (don't know why all of a sudden) but it is not under my email address - somehow it has become my husbands email address. I have no option to change it back to me. I cannot get access to to my controller now on my laptop. My husband was trying to add a Playbar and updated his controller on his iPhone when this happened. How do I get Sonos to work again and ensure I am the email address it is registered to. Am desperate as I have party on weekend and use my lap top to manage all my music, make play lists and own music for performances then I update onto to SONOS. My husband is away and clueless. I need help urgently.
Gentlemen please help. PI bought 2 Play:1’s some weeks ago only to discover that these are not the same speakers as the Ones 😢 I love their sound but still I feel err fooled. Only solution is just sell 1 play:1 and replace it with a One? I can then stream to both my Play:1 and One as a stereo pair? Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t want to fall into a wrong buy again 😉 Also, does the play;1 (used as channel L stereo) sound exactly the same as the One gen2 (channel R stereo). If not it would be impossible to use the play1 and One gen2 as a stereo pair. Thanks 🙂
Lip sync on Doby digital with sonos Beam. I have tried optical but no different. I changed Blue Ray to Pmc and stereo on sky Hd that solves the issue but no Dolby then so defeates the point of upgrading. The tv is a Panasonic TX50 DX802.
