Am I shooting for the stars here? I don’t think so.I need an 85/86” TV and a Sonos ARC surround system. I don’t want to use the Arcana if I can help it.I keep reading about TVs experiencing audio dropouts. Naturally I want one that doesn’t.I want to buy one source, a 4K Blu-ray player. I have DTS discs so the TV has to be able to pass LPCM. I know about the 7.1 bug that Sonos is working on, not worried about that. I’m leaning towards a Panasonic Ub820 but can be swayed.I don’t want a separate streaming device (e.g., Apple TV and all its problems), so I want the television’s internal apps (Netflix, google video, etc) to be capable of streaming Atmos. Pray tell, what television does all of this?
I currently own several Sonos speakers. But, I am going to be getting speakers for a retail location and want to get 2 Pairs and 1 Sub. It is a 1500 sqft open space. Are 2 pairs of Play 5s worth the extra $ vs 2 pairs of Play 1s? The bass/low is important, but do the 5’s outperform the 1’s that much on the highs? I read on this forum that some thought the 1’s seem to outperform the 5s on the mids with the setup. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!
Hello Guys. I recently bought a PRISM+ Q65-QE TV and I would like to purchase Sonos ARC but heard that it comes with HDMI eARC Cable. The PRISM TV only has HDMI ARC Optical Port. I would like to check with you guys if you have any idea whether it would be compatible regardless?
The Sonos model S29 is the Symfonisk Picture Frame, which is as it sounds: a picture frame with a speaker built-in. Some details have been posted on the Verge, which confirm many of the details that I have been seeing since January. The codename I saw on one prototype was “TITAN-redacted” which is similar to the Verge’s story. The speaker specs are similar to the Play:1 and the existing IKEA devices. There is no mic and insufficient horsepower to run Alexa or Google.I am guessing they would make great “invisible” rear speakers for surround systems, as well as being very spousal-approved audio devices in the home.As the device is not on the FCC site yet it must be at least a few months from release. The Verge article is here: https://www.theverge.com/2021/4/6/22370130/ikea-sonos-symfonisk-2021-lamp-wall-art-artwork-speaker
I have TruAudio system. My amp is the Crown 1000. I want to run it through my Sonos system and would prefer to have the ability to control volume via my phone on the Sonos App. Can someone please advise me on what parts I will need to make this happen?
Cross posted from /r/SonosI'd like to make the most out of my 30% upgrade from my Play: 5 (1st gen) purchased in mid 2015. I currently use it in my dining room primarily - it sits atop a bookshelf - but also will use it outdoors when entertaining due to its superior volume over my Sonos One and more portable than my Beam. I considered upgrading my Beam to a more full HT setup, but as my living room isn't square, setting up surround sound wouldn't work nicely even using in ceiling or wall speakers, in relation to where people sit. Adding to that the fact my wife would rather I not spend more than what the Play: 5 was, I am leaning towards something of a hybrid approach that I would like insight into: Connect Amp + hard switch speaker selection. I know it’s possible but I have yet to find a switch that would let me alternate one set vs another so I might just unplug/plug the other speakers when needed, so I don’t turn up the outdoor speakers and blast the indoor way too much. Less of a
The Sonos ARC wall mount is installed flush against the wall, providing that "floating" sensation to the ARC. The mount has a bump in the center, precluding approximately ½" and 5" wide, most likely to avoid interference with an outlet placed right behind. See picture then questions:Since the ARC is only 3.5" tall and an outlet is 3 ¼" tall x 5" wide, it seems the entire center area of the wall mount is occupied by the outlet. But what about the HDMI and Cat6 wires, it seems if routed from above or below they would be visible; from the sides they would interfere with the flush mount. And what about the slack of the power cable, where do we hide it?Some recommend to just drill a small hole behind the mount and fish the power+HDMI+Cat6 wires from the media cabinet below, however this is not code-compliant (power cords are not in-wall rated). Others recommend to get a recessed mini-outlet with line and low-voltage, however these multi-purpose outlets use Romex electrical wires which are a
Hi. I have a beam which I use often. I also have an old school vinyl set up in my other room. Is it possible to connect a zp90 to my amps auc so that I can stream music through my amp? if not, what is the best way to do this? thanks in advance. R
Hello, I’m purchasing a house that has a room wired with 5 ceiling speakers. The speakers are Pyle PDIC1661RD. If I connect two speakers in parallel to each channel, will Sonos Amp be able to drive them? Will the audio output/volume suffer, or will it be adequate? Any gotchas?Speaker specs:MAX Power Output: 200 Watt Impedance: 16 Ohms Sensitivity: 88 dB Frequency Response: 70Hz-20kHzGiven the mediocre speakers, my use case is ambient music with iPhone via Airplay. Occasionally, I may play my TV through these speakers too. In either case, I’m OK with stereo sound, or, even, mono from all 5 speakers. Thanks,MediocreFred.
I amplaying Apple ALAC lossless streams on Sonos 5 speakers with my Apple MacBook Air. It sounds great!
When playing music from the local Android device everything plays fine up until my phone has been closed got about 5 to 10 minutes. The now playing will show the old song and all the buttons become unresponsive. The song now playing also doesn't match to what was supposed to be next in the queue. Any suggestions?
My Playbase stopped working in Jan 21 and after DHL didn’t pick up my old unit I referred to Sonos directly. I have asked if I can change my option of replacement so that I have a new unit and then send the old one back in the packaging. This was in Feb 21 and I have heard nothing from Sonos at all!I have contacted a number of times to be advised that my case has been escalated, but I cannot talk to the dept dealing with the escalation? It has been nearly 6 months now and I am wondering what I have to do for a replacement to be sent? This is completely unacceptable and I basically have a £700 door stop in my living room.
if you want your audio from the Arc and from heaphones at the same timebuy an audio extractor brand view hd model h2harc or similarit is a hdmi to hdmi + audio splitter extractor install it between your cable box and the tvyou will get the sound from both arc and bluetooth at the same time
Hey All, Apple Music & Amazon Music is about to support Dolby Atmos, does anyone know if playback through the Sonos app will allow for Dolby Atmos content or is it just via HDMI?
So last night I charged my Roam to 100%. I then unplugged it from the charger and it went into sleep mode. Then I went to sleep. When I woke up, with ZERO use of both the Roam and my Sonos system, the Roam battery was down to 91%. So this means it dropped almost 10% in roughly 8 hours. Which would be, generously, -- roughly 25% over a 24 hour period. Which means it would last only about 4 days in sleep mode.Sonos says it should last 10 days in sleep mode. Do I have a bad battery? What are others seeing in this regard?
Bonjour je vous écris car j ai besoin d aide. Je viens d acquérir un téléviseur neoqled 65QN85A (juin 2021) avec une barre de son sonos arc qui fonctionne très bien branché en e arc. I wasn’t aware of Sonos Radio HD until this last week. Noticing that they offered a free 30 day trial, I was going to activate it and try it out but decided against it after I read the minimal feature list and couldn’t determine if it had the features I wanted or not. In my opinion, if you want to launch a premium “radio” music service today, the service you have to beat is Stingray Music. Thus you need your features to at least match and hopefully even exceed theirs. In a nutshell, Stingray Music is optimized for discovery. Thus the whole user experience is centered around making this process as simple and effective in determining what you like and dislike, so as to offer a better music listening experience overall. What this means is going way beyond just the ability to skip a song. It’s means the ability to dislike / block a song or an artist, so you don’t hear them again and thus have to continue to manually skip it. Having both is essential, as I may love an artist but hate one of
Hello. Maybe this can be useful for more people using Apple Music lossless via Airplay 2. I listen to my music with Sound check > ON - all the time, but I noticed that the sound from Apple Music is not so clear as the sound from Tidal integration in the Sonos app. By clear, I mean not so bright highs, not so defined lower frequencies, and also mids. Well, not anymore. After applying in the Settings > Music > Sound check > Off AND Settings > Music > Dolby Atmos > Off (if it was on Automatic, or On) The sound will immediately pop-up, as it should. (The change of Dolby Atmos settings is important here, because turning Sound check On or Off will not change the setting immediately). I was surprised how the change is audible on my basic speakers. My setup: iPad 2019Ikea Bookshelf Symfonisk after Trueplay calibration in the stereo pair Tested with several records - Abbey Road from The Beatles, Diana Ross, etc. All in Lossless, or Hi-Res Lossless. Now, there is an
Sonos v2 connect not working? Well I thought mine was either faulty or otherwise completely bricked. It would not reset. There was no green light, however hard I tried to reset it.I disconnected reconnected via Ethernet to my router. I pressed the play and vol+ buttons a few times. Eventually the Sonos app picked it up, but again still not working , I had to give it a few goes. Eventually the Sonos app picked it up successfully. Whilst the Sonos connect device didn’t appear in the app as a registered device, the app then indicated it was performing an update. All my other Sonos products subsequently disappeared from the app as my registered devices. I left it 5 mins then the Sonos app prompt me to disconnect power from the connect, which I did , I then reattach to power whilst still connected to Ethernet and the app indicated it was continuing with the update and setup process. I subsequently had to rename it, as if from new. The app eventually then started to show all my other Sono
My sonos app on my iPhone has betone very aloe to start up and find my speakers. The same for everyone in the family. Have tried to delete and reinstall App and reset all speakers and set up as new. Still the same. seems to have started since last update.
Hi All,I just grabbed an Arc, and set it up the other day and the audio was noticeably out of sync while watching Netflix. I tried adjusting the delay setting in the app, but nothing helped. I'm using a Sony Bravia X800H, and I'm connected to the ARC port since there's no eARC. I’ve been trying to figure this out few a few days now. And there’s no AV sync option on my tv. At least I can’t find it. Any advice? I’m thinking of returning it.
Apple Music is now offering dolby atmos sound. Will this sound be available when you have added the Apple Music service in the Sonos app, or is it only available through an Apple TV device?
After studying the various posts on here regarding the blown power supply problem with the Play 3 device, I am now at the point where I need some assistance with voltages.I think I have the board operational again, but the voltages I am seeing on the capacitors on the low voltage (output) side don’t look right. For someone who has one of these units and is technically competent, could you please measure what’s on the pins of the power supply board output connector (left to right with the board upright) and post here. This will assist me in getting the supply running correctly and determining what else is wrong with it.In repairing it I had to Dremel away quite a bit of burned area and I may have removed a connection to the regulation side of the supply. If I can get it working properly again then I may be able to assist others who have ended up with a dead power board.
I get that you’re proud of the commercial-free Sonos Radio HD and you want people to know about it, but in just a day of activating my subscription and listening to it, I’ve noticed the “This is Sonos” and “You're listening to <station name>” announcement interruption an excessive number of times. Please… I’m paying for it! Please stop. Once every two-three hours maybe at the most. But I think I’m hearing it like once every 15-20 minutes or something.I pay for Spotify; no announcements. I pay for Apple Music; no announcements.
Hey all, I got a request to make:Wouldn't TV dialog sync would be much more reasonably placed if it was in the main UI as seen in the screenshot below? Either here or at least under the 3-dot (setting) section. Why is it much more reasonable? In one word: usability. In a couple: Think of the feature's use-case.I, for instance, have several products which I use: Xbox, Native TV apps and a streamer. Some apps require me to use the TV dialog sync, which requires searching for the settings and clicking through a minimum of 4 menus, with some scrolling thats involved. That's not very convenient when you're already bothered by the off sync and care to enjoy the content you're watching asap. Also, adding it to the Widget so it will be only one click away might also be awesome.Hope this can be considered and prioritized. If you read this, please respond and add your feedback or just reply with "+1". Perhaps we, as a community, could help to make the change by showing the value this would add to
