Make the Amp smart and have a line in for multiple mics. Make a discrete mic that can be installed in the ceiling or wall that will listen for Alexa and Hey Sonos commands. The lack of voice support from the Architectural speaker system is its biggest flaw.
HelloI am considering buying a soundbar plus a sub. Currently, I am looking at the combo:1. Sonos Arc Ultra + Sub Mini2. Sonos Beam 2 + Sub Mini + 2x Era 100 as surroundsI mostly watch movies (Netflix, Apple TV, Disney, so all kinds of audio setups), and I am looking for the biggest immersion. The price where I live is about the same. What would be better? I have a small room of 3m x 4m and have a couch against the wall (shorter side, so my 85” TV is 2.8m from my seating position).I don’t have space behind the couch, so I would have to mount Eras beside me (about a 100-degree angle), and it would be about 80cm from my head. What would be better in this case? Arc Ultra or Beam 2 with surround? Also, my wife would prefer not to have drivers behind cthe ouch :)Also, is the surround sound noticeable in movies? Isn't it better to buy a better soundbar overall?
I am considering in-ceiling speakers for open plan sitting/kitchen in a new apartment, but am not sure if individual speakers would be a better fit.I already have Beam and Symfonisk floor lamps that work well for TV surround.I’m considering in-ceiling speakers for the kitchen and possibly more to cover the whole room, although they would not be used for TV. How many ceiling speakers and placement would be recommended? I don’t want to buy two Amps to have separate rooms for sitting/TV area and kitchen. Alternatively, a pair of 100s for the kitchen would be a lot cheaper and the Beam and Lamps could be grouped for listening throughout the space. Primary uses are background listening and TV. Any ideas? Thanks
I have the Arc and a sub. I would like to add the surround speakers that can also be my stereo sound. I can’t decide between the 5s or the 300! I do have a very large space
Hi Sonos Team and Community,I am writing to propose a quality-of-life software update regarding the Status Light behavior on the Sonos Arc Ultra.Currently, the settings only appear to allow the light to be permanently "On" or permanently "Off." I would like to request a "Dynamic" or "Active Only" setting that bridges the gap between these two options. The Proposed Behavior:The status light should automatically illuminate when the speaker is in active use (receiving a signal from TV, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi) and turn off when the speaker enters idle or standby mode. The Reasoning (Why this is needed):Visual Feedback: Users need to know when the device is successfully receiving a signal or connected to a device. "Always Off" removes these helpful visual cues entirely.Distraction Reduction: Having the light "Always On" can be visually distracting in a dark room when the system is not actually being used. This feature would provide the perfect middle ground: visual confirmation of playback when y
Hi fellow Sonos enthusiasts, im looking for a bit of advice. i currently have an Arc Ultra and sub 4 in our Family room which is a very awkward shape. It is approximately 7m by 3m and laid out as per the attached picture (sofa and dining area along with opening to open plan kitchen) The ceiling is also vaulted 9ft at rear (top of image) to about 14ft at highest point (bottom of image) and as such the atmos effect from the arc is a little compromised. im now looking at add rears which will likely need to be roughly 7ft high on the rear (far left of pic) wall. im not too concerned with cost but don’t want to fork out the additional c£400 if the benefit will be negligible. would appreciate peoples thoughts and if anyone has had a similar predicament what did you do?
HelloHow to adjust left right balance on a stereo pair of Era 300 for music listening?I am honestly shocked that such a basic and essential feature is not available by default. My situation is straightforward. I cannot place my speakers in a perfectly centered listening position. The right speaker is farther away, so I simply want to increase its volume to compensate and keep a proper stereo image. How can we adjust the left right balance on an Era 300 stereo pair when listening to music? If the option exists somewhere, I cannot find it. If it does not exist, I do not understand how a system positioned as premium can lack such a fundamental control. Thanks
Hi,I’m new to this so I need some advice please. I currently my have a pair of jamo E800 speakers (wired) that are connected to my stereo amp but the cabling is a pain and unsightly and I’m thinking of replacing them with a pair of Era100s (using a line in adaptor) . My question is, will I notice a significant difference in sound quality ?
Sonos, where is your dedicated remote? I would definitely buy it!! Hate having to turn on my iPhone, launching the app and fiddling (frankly i would much rather use Apple Music and do if at all possible) I can use my Samsung app for my tv but never do. The dedicated physical remote is so much easier. Please make a physical remote for your speakers!!!
Hi I have just brough a Roam 2 and really impressed. I would like to further enhance the sound . What would be the best way to go ? Either going for another Roam 2 unit or for a more powerful Move II . What would be the best combination ?
Since 2011 I have been a loyal Sonos customerThen they upgraded and left me out in the coldMy Sonos products from 1211 are unreliable. They function and don’t function. Very frustrating.A 15% discount is not helpful since I spent over $1000 in Sonos’s equipmentThat now doesn’t work as it’s supposed towill not buy a Sonos product unless they give us a big big discount
Hi everybody, we are conducting extensive renovations on our house and I thought having a pair of the 152mm sonos architectural speakers in the ceiling of the bathroom would be a good idea. The issue is- although the bathroom is quite spacious with 3m high ceilings it does feature a shower and a larger bathtub. We did include an automated fan and exhaust system, but I am worried about the humidity damaging the speakers.Does anyone have experience installing these ceiling speakers in bathrooms? Is it possible or would the speakers get damaged?
How do I connect a Bose dock to a play 5? I have 3.5 audio cable but nothing is working. I use line in on play 5 for a turntable, do I need to link Bose dock somehow?
HelloMy topic title might sound stupid, but I have never had a sub woofer before, so don’t really know what to expect.I just bought a Beam Gen 2 and Mini Sub.Connected the Beam to TV and I CAN hear the difference compared to only the TV speakers. The Sub Mini arrived a few days later, positioned it 2 metres to the right of the Beam/TV. I think I have set up the Mini Sub correctly, white light is on.Put on some heavy metal music from You Tube…….and I don’t think there is any difference!! 😕 Question - is there a way to flick the Mini Sub on and off while listening to music, so I can see if there is a difference??Any other suggestions to ‘test’ the Sub Mini?
Hello! I have a feature request - front left and front right channels. I think the wider sound stage will sound better, and Sonos can sell us more speakers in the process :) Hopefully it’s implemented in a way that gives us options like using all drivers vs turning off redundant drivers. But the important thing is we retain that option (much like full vs ambient sound for surrounds.) Thanks!
Do we know when the Alexa Voice Control Playback failure ticket will be resolved? 9 days and counting.
I can NOT believe i have spent hundreds and hundreds of pounds on the new Sonos move 2 and two roam speakers only to find out they cant be played at the same time via bluetooth using my iPhone 16 pro max what an absolute JOKE !!!! So unhappy
I a great vinyl collection that I originally had connected to a Denon AVR, def tech speakers and sub, and an audio technica turntable. It sounded very good, but I wanted to go wireless for a lot of reasons. I gave the speakers and receiver to my daughter and replaced them with 2 Sonos ONE SL’s, Beam, and Sub Mini. It didn’t occur to me that they weren’t Bluetooth compatible. Now I have all these great albums but no ability to play them since the Sonos aren’t Bluetooth compatible. I’m open to buying a new receiver but am not sure which one to buy. Any ideas?
Hi everyone.I'm building a Sonos system for my TV room. The TV is large (a 77-inch OLED Panasonic), but the room is quite small (about 13 square meters). Initially, I wanted to limit myself to just the Arc Ultra soundbar, but then, after researching online, I became curious about adding a pair of Era 300s.I tried moving the sofa about 20 cm away from the back wall, and I think I could fit the pair of Era 300s in this space (between the wall and the sofa), on their dedicated stands. It's not ideal for the room's design, but at least, since they're not wall-mounted, everything is reversible. So, to my question: the room is small, and I'm not looking for realistic explosions and extreme bass: could a system like the one described work very well, or would the overall sound be unbalanced, with a sort of "hole" in the low-frequency region? To be clear, would I be building a castrated system? My problem isn't budget, but rather a concern about not saturating a rather small space. Thanks, Robert
Trying to play single songs through the app but when I search for a song all I get is album and station suggestions. Maybe I’m missing something.
I currently have one Era 300 (used for record player with line in), two Era 100s used as surround with my Beam Gen 1. I am torn between what to do for an upgrade. I want to stay around the $500 price point. Any suggestions or recommendations? My ideas are buying the sub mini, or buying the Beam Gen 2.
Hi there. I’ve just installed some Sonos speakers to replace my Amazon Echos. The Sonos Speakers installed easily and I have just about got the interface with Alexa sorted out but it was a painful exercise. My problem now is that SVC doesn’t respond correctly. If I say to my Dining Room speaker “ play music in the bedroom” it plays on the dining room, the speaker I spoke to. The same happens if I ask the living room the same question or a similar request. Basically SVC doesn’t seem to recognise the other speakers even though they show up correctly in the app and I can select which speaker is playing. Worryingly I spoke to Sonos support who told me speaker selection can only be done in the app then sent me an email with a link that told me that it can be done with SVC! Has anybody else had this issue and did you find a fix? I would appreciate any help anybody can offer. Thanks in advance. Keith.
Hi Sonos community! I'm in the planning stages for a new sound system in our unfinished basement and Sonos keeps coming up as the gold standard for ease of use and multi-room flexibility. We're about to start finishing the space, so now's the perfect time to run any necessary wires. I'd love your recommendations on speaker models, placements, and connectivity to make this seamless.Basement LayoutThe basement is shaped like a capital "T":Top bar of the T: 16' wide x 43' long, split into: Left side: 16' x 17' TV/living room. Right side: Wet bar/kitchen area. Stem of the T: Open 20' long x 15' wide hallway (pool table/game area) connecting to the top bar. Exterior access: Slider door from the game area to a covered patio (13' x 15'), opening to the backyard for outdoor use in spring/fall.Here's a rough diagram of the layout: Google Drive LinkGoalsWhole-space audio coverage (TV room, bar, game area, patio/backyard) with the ability to group/ungroup zones via the Sonos app (e.g., TV-only
Here in Canada, Costco has been selling SONOS products for a couple of years. In one warehouse, the stock, like Era 100, Move 2 and Beam have been on display from at least January 2025. This i know because of a labelling error which caused Costco staff to remove some of the labelling. Soooo, suddenly with the PRICE INCREASE, this old stock has gotten veery expensive. Some Costco staff have commented that they wish Costco would stop carrying the product because they may sell one item a week….tariffs? No...greed.
I’m confused about the benefit of a wired connection. Past products created their own private wireless (mesh) networks should any Sonos supporting product be hardwired. Great, but new products don’t use or have that feature. So, what are they doing now talking wired/wireless? They still reference ‘first-wired product’ as the point where the system will utilize wired. Okay, so let’s say the soundbar gets cabled with two 100 surrounds and a sub remaining wireless. The HDMI/TosLink input may be decoded at that device (soundbar) where respective Dolby channels are sent back to the WiFi router then to wireless devices - all in sync. The ‘first’ product must have considerable traffic receiving packets and sending packets while others basically receive only. However, they say you can wire ‘any’ product in the system which makes no sense why a down-line sub or rear would lighten LAN traffic. Sure, 100’s can play music or a line input in stand-alone but can they decode and distribute a Dolby i
