I am considering in-ceiling speakers for open plan sitting/kitchen in a new apartment, but am not sure if individual speakers would be a better fit.

I already have Beam and Symfonisk floor lamps that work well for TV surround.

I’m considering in-ceiling speakers for the kitchen and possibly more to cover the whole room, although they would not be used for TV. How many ceiling speakers and placement would be recommended? I don’t want to buy two Amps to have separate rooms for sitting/TV area and kitchen.

Alternatively, a pair of 100s for the kitchen would be a lot cheaper and the Beam and Lamps could be grouped for listening throughout the space.

Primary uses are background listening and TV. Any ideas? Thanks

What I have done in my kitchen is to put a single Five on top of an upper cabinet and Trueplayed the room. The kitchen is not fully opened to the dining area, but with the Five in that location it fills the room.

If you have room, two Era 100s as a stereo pair would do well IMO. Then you would not have to cut holes in the ceiling.

If you are in the US, the Era 100s are on sale right now.

An apartment, have you checked with the manager about holes in the ceiling, many places will demand removal and repair which may exceede your damage deposit.

I nave two Ones in my kitchen, on top of the cabinets, and the sound there and in the adjoining table area, similar to yours is quite good. When grouped with the ho e theater Room they sound great for music, the 75 ms delay for TV sound is too aggravating for me so we don't do TV with the  Grouped.

I'm going to be upgrading to 300s, the sale price, Atmos sound and a very accommodating spouse got me an early Christmas present.

Thanks. I’m buying a new build apartment so I can do what I want but better to get it done before it’s finished. Good to know that Five or 100s would work - much cheaper and flexible. Anyone have a similar set up with ceiling speakers?
