Era 300 vs Era 100 in awkward room

Hi fellow Sonos enthusiasts,

im looking for a bit of advice.

i currently have an Arc Ultra and sub 4 in our Family room which is a very awkward shape. It is approximately 7m by 3m and laid out as per the attached picture (sofa and dining area along with opening to open plan kitchen)

The ceiling is also vaulted 9ft at rear (top of image) to about 14ft at highest point (bottom of image) and as such the atmos effect from the arc is a little compromised.

im now looking at add rears which will likely need to be roughly 7ft high on the rear (far left of pic) wall.

im not too concerned with cost but don’t want to fork out the additional c£400 if the benefit will be negligible.

would appreciate peoples thoughts and if anyone has had a similar predicament what did you do?

I’m so impressed with the Era 300 performance that I couldn’t recommend something different. It’s true that high ceilings could be a problem, but I think they should be able to perform well.

Try first with them, if then you’re not impressed by the Atmos in music or the surround in films, return them before 30 days and get 2 100s.

I assume you’ll be wall mounting the speakers. Suggest you use two ladders with foldout trays to get an idea of the sound before drilling holes. You should also purchase both the Era 300’s and 100’s to do a proper comparison. Then return the pair you don’t like.

I really liked our 300s but couldn't find a spot the spouse could live with. Swapped in 100s and the difference is quite noticeable on Atmos content, a bit less, for 5.1.

I like the buy both option, I did that but kept the 300s for an Atmos / stereo pair in another room.

Temporary stands before wall mounting is a real regret saver.
