I am considering in-ceiling speakers for open plan sitting/kitchen in a new apartment, but am not sure if individual speakers would be a better fit.

I already have Beam and Symfonisk floor lamps that work well for TV surround.

I’m considering in-ceiling speakers for the kitchen and possibly more to cover the whole room, although they would not be used for TV. How many ceiling speakers and placement would be recommended? I don’t want to buy two Amps to have separate rooms for sitting/TV area and kitchen.

Alternatively, a pair of 100s for the kitchen would be a lot cheaper and the Beam and Lamps could be grouped for listening throughout the space.

Primary uses are background listening and TV. Any ideas? Thanks

What I have done in my kitchen is to put a single Five on top of an upper cabinet and Trueplayed the room. The kitchen is not fully opened to the dining area, but with the Five in that location it fills the room.

If you have room, two Era 100s as a stereo pair would do well IMO. Then you would not have to cut holes in the ceiling.

If you are in the US, the Era 100s are on sale right now.
