Talk about Sonos Voice Control

I have a stereo pair of legacy Sonos One SL’s in a room called “Computer Room”. I cannot use Sonos voice control to control those speakers from other rooms in my house that have voice control enabled Sonos speakers and soundbars. I've tried changing the room name but still no luck. I have no trouble controlling the other rooms remotely. This should work. I am running with the latest firmware update on all speakers 92.0-71170. Any ideas?
I saw Qobuz was compatible with the app and never considered this would be separate from the very critical voice commands feature. So happy with the speakers but can't help but be disappointed about this. Is this on the horizon?
Make the Amp smart and have a line in for multiple mics. Make a discrete mic that can be installed in the ceiling or wall that will listen for Alexa and Hey Sonos commands. The lack of voice support from the Architectural speaker system is its biggest flaw.
Hi there. I’ve just installed some Sonos speakers to replace my Amazon Echos. The Sonos Speakers installed easily and I have just about got the interface with Alexa sorted out but it was a painful exercise. My problem now is that SVC doesn’t respond correctly. If I say to my Dining Room speaker “ play music in the bedroom” it plays on the dining room, the speaker I spoke to. The same happens if I ask the living room the same question or a similar request. Basically SVC doesn’t seem to recognise the other speakers even though they show up correctly in the app and I can select which speaker is playing. Worryingly I spoke to Sonos support who told me speaker selection can only be done in the app then sent me an email with a link that told me that it can be done with SVC! Has anybody else had this issue and did you find a fix? I would appreciate any help anybody can offer. Thanks in advance. Keith.
Since Tidal in itself is supported I would love to see Voice Control integration as well.I found it somewhat confusing saying everywhere that Tidal is supported but the Voice control is not.
i can't use voice control on Sonos move 2 with my android phone
I posted this on Reddit today, no responses yet.I was watching the Today Show this morning when they mentioned that Dolly Parton was postponing her Vegas residency due to health concerns; (get well Dolly!) Suddenly, my system muted TV audio and music started playing rather loudly-you guessed it-Dolly Parton! System is a Beam (g2) Sub 4 and 2 One's as surrounds. I have had Alexa devices respond when they "heard" a wake word from a TV program but this is a first for me with Sonos. No wake word preceded this playing of the music.Upon checking recently played, it was an Apple Music station that was created for Dolly Parton. Not an existing or favorite. Any ideas are appreciated.
So I checked the app and the speaker is listed. But the same is pretty much true for Alexa and Siri so why should I expect more from Sonos?
The Sonos voice audio response is so loud and out of sync with the level of music that we are playing. I see some other posts from quite a while ago discussing this and they are closed for further comment so I’m posting a new one.I just got our second era 100 So our children could use the built-in voice control to play music so that I don’t have to give them screen devices to control it. However, The Sonos voice response is so loud it practically shakes the walls. It’s obnoxious and I’m about to turn off voice control, and that basically makes the whole use case useless.is there a solution for this?
Hi,I just subscribed to deezer and set it up with sonos voice controlIt works fine to listen to a specific title, an album, or a public playlist but I can’t listen to my playlists (it says “the content canno’t be found”)I tried everything including updating my sonos one, delete and reinstall deezer and even reseting my sonos and it still don’t work. Has anyone have a solution ?
Over the last week or so, every time I ask Sonos to transfer the music (playing somewhere I was to where I am now), it results in children songs being played where I was. The latest was Five Little Speckled Frogs by Susie Tallman when I was playing Pandora. Don’t have kids, so those songs wouldn’t even be in a playlist somewhere.Any suggestions would be helpful.
Era speaker won’t identify any songs from Services or library. Gustavo only replies. “Nothing is playing”. Doesn’t matter if I’m using the app or the S2 on the Mac. Anyone else have this issue and how did you resolve it? Not using Google or Alexa assistants
I have an alarm set, target is master bedroom, and the setting includes everywhere. The devices in master bedroom are an Era 100 stereo pair and a mini subwoofer. Sometimes, when the alarm begins playing (SiriusXM), I respond with “hey Sonos pause”. If the command is successful, the response is a single chime and the music stops. With increasing frequency, the command fails. The response is a thud sound and music continues. If I reissue the command, I get a verbal response of “There’s nothing playing right now” and the music continues. I must say that the utterly b*******t response when the music is playing and continues to play is completely infuriating.Any ideas how to address this?Bill Frazier Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
Hi all,I recently changed my Wi-Fi router, and now my Sonos system won't connect to the new network. I've tried rebooting the speakers and using the Sonos app to reconnect them, but nothing works. The app keeps saying it can't find the system. Here's what I've done so far:Updated the Sonos app to the latest version I tried both the iOS and Android apps Powered off and restarted my speakers Attempted to connect via Ethernet (works temporarily, but I need them on Wi-Fi)Has anyone else run into this after switching routers? Are there any steps I might be missing to get them reconnected wirelessly?I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Hey everyone,I hope someone can give me some advice concerning using Sonos voice control to move music between speakers. I used to have one Era 100 in the kitchen and one Era 300 in the lounge and I could move music easily by saying “hey Sonos, move music to Era 100” for example. I have now added a second Era 100 in the bedroom and whenever I give the command Sonos will ask me “do you mean Kitchen Era 100 or Bedroom Era 100” to which I respond and then nothing happens. I’ve tried playing around with different variations of room names and even named Bedroom Era 100 and Kitchen Era 100 but nothing works. Here’s my current set-up: Can anyone help me out with what I’m doing wrong? I can of course switch the music within the app but sometimes I don’t want to have to faff around with the app when a voice command should be sufficient.
Hi, looking for some help troubleshooting ongoing issues with Alexa and Sonos Voice Control on my Era 300 speakers. Hoping someone has experienced something similar or has suggestions. My Setup Arc Ultra Sub 4 2x Era 300 (rear surrounds, in a surround setup with Arc) Voice assistants in use: Sonos Voice Control and Amazon Alexa Era 100s in various other rooms TV connected via eARC HDMI to the Arc Ultra which is then set up as surround sound with the Sub 4 and the 2x Era 300 speakers. What Happened Initially, I had both voice assistants working fine on all three speakers (Arc + both Era 300s). Everything was smooth for ~1-2 days. Then I reconfigured my home network, included some VLANs for network segmentation and reconfigured the DHCP settings (lease lasted for 120 minutes so after 2 hours the speakers should have renewed with the new DHCP settings).Side note: 2.4GHz WiFi network SSID and password stayed the same, so devices should have reconnected without any issue. I’m sadly having issues with the voice control on my Sonos Beam Gen. 2. I turned of the voice control a few days ago over the beam. I mainly did it to turn off the LED. Now I wanted to turn on Voice Control again, so i clicked on the microphone symbol on my Beam and the LED turned on again. When trying to actually use voice control, the Beam would not react. I tried to turn off Voice Control and turn it on again but when turning it off the LED would not turn off anymore (I tried it over the app and directly on the Beam). Now the LED is constantly on, the Voice Control doesn’t work anymore, and i’m completely clueless…Is there a known solution to my issue? Thanks for any help!
I see you support /most/ of the big music providers - not youtube yet. There is great interest in this capability by your consumers, please add me to the list. Had I done my research ahead of time and realized it wasn’t supported (and your app is a recovering disaster) I probably wouldn’t have bought into Sonos. Please, fix things and offer this HUGELY used service.
Whenever I ask voice control to play a song it plays a different one. I tried rebooting it but it still doesn’t work. If anyone knows how to fix it please share it with me!🤔🙏
Being new on Sonos, I’d like to know if it’s possible to share my IPhone 12 music library with my Sonos Era100 so that I could use voice control to play my own playlist. If so, how do I proceed, step by step, I barely know how those things work. Bit old! 🙏
why cant hey sonos find BBC radio stations
Hi , A simple question from Australia , I cannot get either voice assistants Alexa or Sonos to connect to radio stations in Australia . The message comes up “ can’t find this station “ . I can connect manually through the Sonos app to any radio station , not by voice .Thankyou for any advice , John
Are there any plans to bring YouTube music compatibility to SVC? I see in the forum this has been a recurring topic and something the community are looking for, but haven’t seen confirmation one way or another from Sonos. I was ready to cave and just use Google Assistant instead so I could at least play my music with voice commands, then discovered Sonos won’t let me use Google Assistant with most of my Sonos devices. Sonos represents itself out as compatible with YouTube Music but it really isn’t feeling that way…
Can't add Sonos Voice Control into Era 100, but Alexa works well.
