Improve ARC ultra w more speakers? I am underwhelmed with the sound with my new Samsung TV.  Dialogue ( especially) females seems " brittle" and thin. Music not as good as reviews have stated. Anybody have this issue and then added ERA100's or a sub ? Dont want to go deeper $$ if this won't improve greatly.  btw - have tried every setting possible in app but can’t tell much difference in any setting. Sorry I did not live 1st  more bars 1st.

Just an update concerning the new Beam Ultra.  This was a replacement for a playbar with a sub gen 1and 2 play 1’s as surrounds.  The beam sees and connects to the sub but after many resets, a long AI conversation and then eventually getting connected to a human, it turns out play 1’s as surrounds are not compatible with the beam ultra.  that’s a real pity but something to be aware of.  David

This might be useful for all brands using Google TV. It’s been a lifesaver for me.. I just changed from a Samsung TV to a new TCL - both have Bluetooth remotes, but the Samsung one rather smartly sends volume up and down over IR which allows you to control the Sonos from one remote.. Sadly the TCL remote in Bluetooth mode does not, furthermore the TCL remote in IR mode doesn’t work well with Sonos learning. I have the perfect solution! Using Homeassistant (which I run on a Raspberry Pi). A simple automation to look for state or volume changes from the TCL TV using the Android Remote integration and relaying the volume to the Sonos Playbar using the Sonos integration. Works like a charm! I hope that helps people out there with Google TVs, Bluetooth remotes and Playbars wanting to use just one remote seamlessly.

Could use a little help with this.  I’m about to purchase a new system (previous burned in Eaton Fire).  Our temporary home poses some unique challenges as it’s wide open making TV viewing surrounds difficult to place. I’m about to purchase an Arc Ultra and thinking of adding 300s but given location of seating (red arrows) I’m unsure of placements? behind camera is kitchen and dining room so wide open.  WFH desk is to the left. I use two One’s and a sub mini for music while at desk (positioned to either side of the glass doors).  I’m baffled as to setting up for TV viewing in this house. TIA 🤷🏻🤦‍♂️

A while ago I created this post: This is still a problem. For several games, if not all games, the volume is not how it should be. In the game Metaphor, dialoge form the sides are much louder than from the center. In other games, certain sounds seem too loud. These problems are especially bad when using Dolby Atmos on PS5, but also a problem in Linear PCM, in some cases just as bad like with the Metaphor example. I have tried several combinations without luck. This is not an issue with the TV or PS5 because this is not an issue with the TV audio. I am using passthrough on the TV and device type soundbar on PS5, but tested multiple combinations. Do I have a faulty Arc Ultra? I’m only using the Arc Ultra with my LG C4 TV, no sub or other speakers. I find it odd I can’t find anyone else reporting this. Edit: I think the main problem is that the soundbar mixes up dialoge and music, so in Metaphor when characters are talking from the sides the volume is increased, but when it is from the ce

Hello Group,I currently have an Arc Ultra, sub4 and 2 ERA100’s in our living room. During the day I have my desk setup near the TV facing our couch. I would like to be able to listen to just the ERA100’s and the sub4. Is there any way to have 2 different “presets” for a surround setup?

I have a Samsung Frame TV - QN75LS03BAFXZ (2021) and a Sonos ARC gen 2My issue was with the TV settings, not the ARCThis is how I fixed it.Pulled out all cables and power supply on the backend (Sonos Connect, now Sonos Port)  I did not go behind the TV to disconnect and reconnect. I did a factory reset on the TV.These are the settings that worked for me.  Caveat - The TV still loses the HDMI output choice that has been saved occasionally.  Sometimes I must go back in and make the proper selections again.Go to HOME screen Select SETTINGS Set SOUND OUTPUT to Sonos Arc (HDMI-eARC) Go to INPUT DEVICE manager Go to CONNECTION Go to EXTERNAL DEVICE MANAGER Select Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) Select INPUT SIGNAL PLUS and make sure that the proper HDMI selections are there.  My setup has 2 HDMI inputs used: HDMI 1 & HDMI 3.  Make sure that all the proper HDMI selections are selected. Mine drops one of the HDMI inputs sometimes and that’s when I have the problem. Go to the SOUND menu. In EXPERT setti

I have a niche that measures as above; it’s a wooden built in media cabinet with TV mounting space that measures as above in the image (66 x 41) in inches. Claude says it will fit, but it is not exactly 4 inches below.  It says I can get up to 3 inches if I reduce the distance at the top. My question is, will this work appropriately? The Frame Pro TV is what I’m using, so it’s flush mount to the wall and shouldn’t interfere with the 4 inch protruding soundbar, but I don’t know enough to say yay or nay. Thanks for your help!

Hi everyone,Hoping someone can help me figure this out, because I’m honestly running out of ideas.I’m writing from Austria, and have been a loyal Sonos customer for years without ever experiencing anything like this.Currently on my third Arc Ultra (Sonos replaced my original Arc Ultra, and then replaced the replacement unit 🙂) and all three have had the same type of distortion/crackling from one side on higher-pitched sounds, especially piano and certain voices. It is clearly audible from meters away, even at low volume. The strange part is that the affected side changed:Original: left side — serial starts with 2508LC Replacement #1: left side — serial starts with 2508LC Replacement #2: right side — serial starts with 2507LC I’ve tested different TVs, Apple TV, AirPlay, Sonos Radio, the Arc Ultra by itself,Trueplay off, and a complete factory reset/setup. The issue remained. To be fair, Sonos Support has been very kind and helpful and approved the replacements after seeing my videos.

GreetingsDoes anyone have a television without any handshake issues with Sonos arc ultra I am about to upgrade my television and would like some advice to avoid this

The ungoing rear speakers dilemma My Era 300s are fantastic as rear surrounds with my Arc and Sub. They’re also fantastic as a stereo pair for music. But moving between those two setups means removing them as surrounds, creating a stereo pair, running Trueplay again, and then reversing the whole process when I want my home theater back.I’ve just read about Sonos Fabric and its Positioning Technology, and my first thought was: could this finally be the answer?Sonos says compatible speakers will be able to recognize where they’ve been placed and change roles automatically. A Move 2 or Sonos Play can become a rear surround when it’s moved into position, without the owner having to rebuild the system manually.I know this hasn’t been announced for the Era 300, and I understand the technical details may be different. But if Sonos is now building speakers that can change roles depending on how they’re being used, this feels like the perfect opportunity to revisit the Era 300.What I’d love is

I disconnected my cable box and now my tv won’t see the arc hdmi connection. Please help! I called and discounted everything multiple times no luck

HiI keep looking at Sonos home theatre solutions, but there is one thing stopping me.I already have a traditional Yamaha 5.1 setup with five perfectly good speakers and a sub. I don't want to throw all of that away and spend €4–5,000 on a complete Sonos setup just to get into the Sonos ecosystem. What I would buy, however, is a proper Sonos 5.1 amplifier.Something simple:125W – Left125W – Center125W – Right50W – Surround Left50W – Surround Right+ Sub output / Sonos Sub supportHDMI eARC, Trueplay and normal Sonos integration. That's basically it.The current solution with two Sonos Amps feels a bit overkill. You get 2 x 125W for the front speakers and another 2 x 125W for the surrounds, but still no real center channel.I really don't need 125W per surround speaker. I do want a proper center.Put a product like this in the €1–1,500 range and I would seriously consider buying it tomorrow. I can keep the speakers I already like, replace my old receiver and suddenly the whole system becomes pa

Hi everyone,I’m planning to use two Sonos Era 300 speakers as surrounds in an open-plan living room, behind my sofa. (right below where the Bose speaksers are today). The tv will be above the fireplace with the ultra arc below it.Because of the room layout, the best available position (in my opinion) is high on the wall, just below a low ceiling beam/soffit, behind the left and right corners of the sofa. They will be close to the ceiling—definitely within 60 cm / 2 ft.Should I mount the Era 300 speakers inverted (upside down) or upright in this position? They will be used as surrounds with a Sonos home-theater setup (ultra ARC and sub gen 4 )I understand the ideal surround position is closer to ear height, but wall mounting them high is the only practical option in this room. I will run Trueplay after installation.I would appreciate any advice on: Whether inverted mounting is correct in this specific high-wall position Whether they should face straight forward or be angled slightly do

Hello, In a future app update, it would be great to include a shortcut—or the ability to create one—to the TV system's surround audio menu for setups using a soundbar and rear speakers. This would make it easier to manually adjust home cinema audio levels without having to navigate through Settings > Room > Surround Audio > TV Level. Thank you.

I have an open concept house. I use a home theatre system with the arc under the TV and two rear speakers (both era 100) and I have the sub to go with it in the front. My wife complains when she is cooking in the kitchen she likes to watch the news but all of the speakers are located in front of that area. I wanted to add one more speaker that will play all of the sound in the kitchen (not just back ground noises like my eras do) what do you all recommend?

I noticed another member posted 6 months ago with the exact same issue I am having.Sonos Arc Ultra Euro 100 X2Sub 4Playstation 5 ProSound drops out during games or on the home screen as per OuttaTime posted.Apparently it's a known issue with Sonos and setting the PS5 audio to Dolby Atoms. How has this not been resolved?

Bass unit will not join AT&T  modem  whether wireless or wired to Ethernet.  Have tried everything- rebooted, removed old system info from  past usage elsewhere  & just can't  get it to tie in to wireless network that  Arc unit & 2 Era 100 speakers are on . Any suggestions or recommendations  ?

I’m getting tired of the two era 100 speakers cutting out it’s embarrassing for the prices I paid for this and I have changed the WiFi channels rebooted them and you can’t even sync the TV volume with them only the arc might take it back. My old system never did this (wired).

So I have been using the HD Fury Arcana since its initial release, to link my SONOS ARC to my 4k projector. This evening the Arcana finally "gave up the ghost" so to speak. I smelled a faint odor of electric fire and then the HDMI output no longer recognised the cable. I assume there was a short, and not easily fixed. The Arcana has lasted 5-6 years so I'm not too surprised its crapped out. So my question is simply this: are there better and/or cheaper alternatives out there now? I know there's an "Arcana 2" but I don't think I need that. What I am looking for is something that will do the job of splitting Atmos signal out to the ARC without setting me back £200. Back in the day the Arcana was the only game in town but its been a long time since then. I can see similar products on Amazon for significantky less money, but they look a bit dodgy. Are people having success with other products? Please point me in the right direction.

When i set my TCL TV audio output to auto it plays youtube content in dolby multi channel pcm 2.0. when i set it to passthrough it plays content in stereo pcm. Auto sounds a lot louder/dynamic at the same volume level and to my ears sounds better? Passthrough sounds quieter but perhaps technically better quality? (I’m not sure). I thought the best setting for a soundbar was to set it to passthrough so it receives uncoded audio and the soundbar outputs the raw source? It seems like I prefer the opposite! Which format is better? I have a beam gen 2 FYI. It’s the same on Netflix also. I can’t remember the formats displayed on the Sonos now playing screen but auto sounds better to me also. Would love to hear some audio enthusiasts advice!

I have an LG OLED TV, Google Streaming 4k, HDHomerun 4k, Sonos Beam 2 with 2 play 1 speakers in surround sound. I had the strangest experience.  I was watch a movie on Disney when a commerical came on (I’m cheap) so I used my LG remote (instead of the Google Streamng remote) to mute the commercial.  (I like the feel of the LG remote and thought I didn’t matter which remote I used.)The TV went blank for a second and when it came back I had no sound.  When I tried to go to TV speakers sound would play for a second the go silent.I tried a number of approaches to bring back sound - thinking it was an LG issue or an HDHome run issue.  Finally just unplugged Sonos beam and plugged it back in.  That fixed it. Strange.  I have retired the LG remote.

Hi, I have a first generation Arc a gen 3 sub and two Era 300s in my living room. The Era 300s are set up as surrounds but I regularly unbond them for music and don't think they sound great as surrounds. They seem just too quiet and I find I have to push all the levels up to max to get any real impact. For music they are way better just as a stereo pair.I don't think there is anything wrong with the speakers I just don't find the implementation to be great. It bothers me no end that Sonos won't let me enable the centre channel. in my room it would be better the centre than the far side channels.I also wish there was a music mode for the Eras so that they can be set to just those for music, unpairing is ok but it plays havoc with my room setup in the app and Alexa.I do love Sonos and have speakers in every room but am just disappointed with this setup. I kind of just lived with it until now but it appears other brands are making some interesting stuff. The LG Soundsuite is looking interes

Hello community,I bought a pair of Era 300 additionally to my Arc Ultra and Sub Gen 4, and I'm looking for how to position them the best in my living room using a pair of Sanus tilt&swivel wall mounts. The room has an L shaped sofa against the wall.I'm having trouble to decide on the height - should it be hang higher to increase the distance from our heads? At ear level? A few inches higher? Near the ceiling rotated upwards down? Also, I'm having trouble with choosing the best location to mount the speakers. The left speaker can be mounted in any height in the backwall, but the problem is with the right speaker due to a window near the right wall. I thought of these options:1. Place on the backwall between the window and the right wall, in any height. Con: there will be just 2 inches between the speaker and the right wall (>8 recommend?) 2. Place on the backwall under the window at >8inch from the wall. Con: it will fit but be just 2 inches from our heads.3. Place on the righ

Even with the launch of the new Amp Multi, there still does not appear to be a way to power my 7.1 surround system without also buying an amp from another company such as Denon.  Am I missing something?  Seems like an obvious gap.  Please ship an Amp with HDMI eARC and Dolby ATMOS surround decoding for 8 channels plus a sub.  The Amp Multi could have been great to target multiple use cases.
