Era 300 mount with sofa against the wall

Hello community,

I bought a pair of Era 300 additionally to my Arc Ultra and Sub Gen 4, and I'm looking for how to position them the best in my living room using a pair of Sanus tilt&swivel wall mounts. 

The room has an L shaped sofa against the wall.

I'm having trouble to decide on the height - should it be hang higher to increase the distance from our heads? At ear level? A few inches higher? Near the ceiling rotated upwards down? 

Also, I'm having trouble with choosing the best location to mount the speakers. The left speaker can be mounted in any height in the backwall, but the problem is with the right speaker due to a window near the right wall. I thought of these options:

1. Place on the backwall between the window and the right wall, in any height. Con: there will be just 2 inches between the speaker and the right wall (>8 recommend?) 

2. Place on the backwall under the window at >8inch from the wall. Con: it will fit but be just 2 inches from our heads.

3. Place on the right wall in any distance (near 8-10 inches) and in any height, rotate as much as the mount allows (32 degrees) towards the TV (is at 70 degrees) Con: right wall, not towards TV

How would you place them?

Maybe skip the wall mounts for now and use temporary, ear level stands to try placement?

I'd try to the right of the window, and to the left of the couch on the other side.

Probably Option 1.  If this was my room though I’d probably use ERA 100 speakers instead maybe even higher up on the back wall.  Probably facing straight forward to help avoid direct sound blasting into the ears.

The 300s utilize reflections off the walls and ceiling preferably in a symmetric layout and preferably some distance behind the listening position.

    I've found my 300s pretty tolerant of odd locations, as long as not too close to a side wall. Both as surrounds and as an Atmos pair.

    I did end up swapping my Arc surrounds from 300s to 100s due too placement issues, it was a big step down, only taken to restore domestic tranquility.

    Thank you for taking the time to help! I don’t have room for stands, so I bought wall mounts. Just to clarify: would you still favor the back-wall placement, despite the limited clearance from the right wall, over the right-wall placement, which has more space but can only be partially angled toward the TV?

    Note I said temporary stands, needed just long enough to decide where to put the wall mounts. Cardboard works well enough with a bit of added strapping tape.

    I wouldn't angle 300s towards the TV in any situation, square to the wall they are mounted on.

    In my limited experience too close to the side wall is not good, I found a foot or more sounded better than the Sonos recommended minimum, less than that really hurt Atmos.

    I'll stay with: "to the right of the window, and to the left of the couch on the other side." Ear level and square to the wall they are on.
