Arc Ultra/PS5 Pro Dolby Atmos sound drop outs

I noticed another member posted 6 months ago with the exact same issue I am having.

Sonos Arc Ultra

Euro 100 X2

Sub 4

Playstation 5 Pro

Sound drops out during games or on the home screen as per OuttaTime posted.

Apparently it's a known issue with Sonos and setting the PS5 audio to Dolby Atoms.

How has this not been resolved?

I wonder if the question should be ‘Why is the PS5’s Atmos output different than every other device in use’?

It's an issue well documented and others have the issue is with the Arc Ultras codec from what I'm aware of.

Probably issue to take to support, a diagnostic showing the issue (within 10 minutes) would help.

Have you asked those others for any suggestions?

Which doesn’t answer the questions: why does Sonos respond properly to so many other devices that offer Atmos, but has trouble with the PS5?  What is different about the version Sony passes through the TV? Why is it different? Why doesn’t Sonos recognize it properly?

As per Outta Time posted the issue is recognised and reported so I posted to see if others had found the same and what their solution is (if any). Responses are supposed to be helpful not antagonistic. If it's a handshake issue then someone takes responsibility albeit Sonos seems to have already admitted they know and acknowledged it's on their part. You don't expect that of a premium sound bar like the Arc Ultra.

Apologies if you felt I was being antagonistic, there was no intention in doing so. But I still don’t understand why the Sonos system can process data (codecs) from hundreds (tens? Not sure) of devices of various types, yet fails only on a PS5. What is different about the output of a PS5, so that Sonos fails to process the data properly? Why is it only the PS5, and not other devices, like the various XBoxes, Apple TVs, cable boxes, Firesticks, etc? That’s what I’m trying to identify.

I’m not arguing the issue, it’s clear that based on reports, it seems to be happening, I’m trying to figure out why it is occurring. And no, I wouldn’t expect that from a premium device like the Sonos, or the TV, or the PS5, for any reason. These codecs are long established.
