Home Theater

Hello Everyone,I’ve owned the Arc for about two months now, I’ve noticed at times in order to properly hear what's being displayed on the TV I have to crank the volume high. I’ve tried everything, from resetting the Arc to changing the settings in the app and the TV. The TV that I’m using the Arc with is the Sony A90J. I had the beam before and NEVER experienced this issue. Thank You

I have been using a Beam 2 by connecting my PC and PS5 through a HDMI Switch that also had optical out. I used the optical out with the Sonos converter to HDMI and al worked well.I have just upgraded my monitor to have HDMI 2.1 so I can run my PS5 @ 120Hz. Connecting everything up the same way I am not getting any sound. I am assuming that is because of I have introduced HDMI 2.1 or at least that is the only difference from my original set up.I have searched high and low for a HDMI 2.1 switch with either eARC or optical out thinking that will solve the problem but i cant find anything.Has anyone else had the same problem and if so have you managed to resolve it.

Been searching through this topic and finding nothing that helps.    Bought a new ARC.   Attached to my house wifi.  Robust system over Cat6A cable with multiple access points.    Took a working sub and two One’s from another system.  Factory reset them.   Added them successfully to the same room as the Arc.  But NOTHING will connect to the ARC.   Wifi is. enabled.  I have restarted the ARC.  Settings on TV correct (HDMI to Arc input, etc.).  Restarted TV.    Nothing.   Maddening.    Please help.    FYI, I cannot connect with an ethernet to anything.   Router is in the basement in a cabinet with other equipment.   Thanks.

What moron in Marketing came up with the concept that, moving forward, all new Sonos hardware would be Sonos 2 compatible only?  It had to be Marketing, because no Tech weenie would ever do this.I have Sonos speakers throughout my house, 10 separate devices in all working seamlessly to provide high quality tunes in every room and outside.  But today, I purchased a Sonos Roam, only to find out that it was incompatible with my existing Sonos 1 system, and if I moved forward, I would be forced to have 2 separate Sonos 1 and 2 systems, neither of which will talk to each other, on my network. If my existing Playbar, which is paired with 2 ea S1 speakers dies, and I have to replace, am I out of luck?  I am not about to replace all my hardware, which would require a considerable investomet, for a mediocre outside speaker.Just f-ing unbelievable.

I am about to wall mount my Sonos Arc using the Sonos wall mount. My electrician has layed a conduit channel within the wall for cables (power, HDMI and ethernet). However, for my preferred position of the TV and Arc, this conduit channel lies to the right of centre when looking at the arc from the front (approx 150mm from the right edge of the Arc). If the cables are brought out of the wall at this point, will it still be possible to connect them to the Arc at the insertion points further along the Arc, whilst using the wall mount, or will the cables get in the way or be visible? Cheers

I recently bought an Arc, two bookshelf speakers and a sub. I have it going through an 8k HDMI cable to my eArc port and eArc is turned on through the settings on the tv. When I try to play music or movies with atmos, it never says I’m getting atmos on my app. Please help.

Cannot connect TV to sonos arc

So I bought a Ray for my spare room which I’m very pleased with. I found out something interesting today too, after having difficulty pairing the TV remote via the Sonos app. It is a TV remote which had previously failed to work with a Playbase so I wasn’t at all surprised.I read a review where the reviewer had similar issues pairing his remote, but he found out that his remote uses ‘Toggle Bit’ for its remote controls. In other words, when you hit the same button twice, the remote sends a different signal for each, alternating between two IR codes. So he worked out a work around by following the Sonos setup routine; but after every requested button press, he covered the remote’s IR sensor and hit the button again before continuing with the wizard. So essentially with say the + button, press it aimed at the Ray, then cover sensor with hand and press again, then press again aimed at the Ray, cover and press again, and finally press the last time aiming at the Ray. Repeat then for the -

From searching I’ve found this mentioned before but unfortunately there were no follow ups so forgive the repeat.I've just picked up a pair of Ikea Symfonisk bookshelf speakers for the rear surrounds and am finding them to be a great complement to my Arc and Sub for watching TV. I have been experimenting with the Music Playback setting (for non-TV listening), and its Ambient and Full options, and having tried both I am definitely leaning towards Ambient as I think I prefer the slightly more localised sound that it allows, and in contrast the Full setting just sounds a bit too much 'everywhere' for my liking. However, I've noticed an unexpected downside - the Ambient setting appears to reduce the sub output slightly for some reason. I first suspected it audibly but it became much more obvious when holding my hand over the sub's output hole where it is easy to actually feel the difference. Why would it do this? The Music Playback option description implies that it only affects the surround

I recently purchased my first Sonos product, the Arc.  My network is Meraki MX64 based with a PoE MS120-8lp switch and a MR36 AP.  The set up instructions seemed simple enough but I could not get my iPad and Arc to connect to complete the install.  With help from Sonos support and Meraki support, they connected right away. Here is the combined list of the instructions from Sonos and Meraki that brought it all together:Log in to the Meraki router. Open the Wireless tab. Select Firewall & traffic shaping. Under Layer 2 LAN Isolation, change the setting to Disabled Under Layer 3 Firewall Rules, change the setting for Local LAN to Allow. Under the SSID Configuration, change the setting Addressing and Traffic Client IP Assignment to Bridge modeI hope this helps anyone with a Meraki network who wants to get the Sonos working smoothly. RichCO

No options for Ray owners yet on the forums I see! I’ve spoken to both Sonos and Samsung about this and neither can resolve it. I’ve discovered that this model of TV possibly isn’t capable of passing through a DTS signal via Optical Out. I’ve tried this with several bluray discs on both a PS5 and a Sony UHD player. Under Expert Settings Bitstream is selected. When receiving a Dolby signal, it allows to choose between Digital Output Audio Format PCM or Dolby Digital. With DTS, only PCM. Would that PCM signal be the TV outputting 2.0 or the Ray receiving the DTS signal and outputting it as 2.0? Unless the Sonos can’t process a DTS 7.1/5.1 True HD signal? Does anyone know? It’s still a bit of a mystery. edit - it seems Samsung only allowed for DTS passthrough on TV’s from 2020 onwards. Mystery solved; but if anyone else is having the same problem, there’s your answer.

We just had a Sonos Arc installed with new SAMSUNG QN65S95BAFXZA OLED 4K TV.  I noticed that every time I turn  off the TV with the Xfinity remote and then put it back on, there is NO volume. I have to click the volume button to get sound. This is very annoying. How can I fix this? Thanks for the help.

I’ve had this setup for a year without any issues and now all of a sudden, my rears and subs syncs out with my arc…I can easily notice because I hear echoes and when I pause the movie or show it will continue to play for a second. Only resetting the power on my speakers fixes it then it comes back later randomly. What gives ? I didn’t pay $$$ for this sort of inconvenience.

I only get Stereo PCM with a Hisense 65u8gI currently have 2 symphsonik and a Beam gen 2.My roku ultra gets dolby atmos on a different input so I do think there’s something fishy with the PS5 not detecting the EDID setup? What I am expecting is Multichannel PCM via eARC.Any hints guys on how to get multichannel PCM going via eARC?

After hours of trying to get a stupid Beam soundbar working through surround speakers, i’ve given up. Over an hour with a Sonos tech and no one knows wtf they’re doing. meanwhile, i just hook in an appleTV and the speakers all sound fine. Sonos has the best sound when it works, but it never works for long. I’m constantly dealing with connection issues and this last one wasted several hours of one of the few days off i have.I’m returning this POS beam soundbar. i wish i could return my entire sonos system. the engineers at sonos are terrible and things never seem to get better. funny thing, i had this all set up just the night before and today it was all f’d up and sonos customer service had no idea after over an hour. Waste of time. i wouldn’t advise anyone get Sonos. i doubt Bose or any other system has the constant connection issues that Sonos can never seem to truly fix.Junk.

My sub will regularly go out of sync with my arc - especially when skipping through songs on spotify. Sometimes the sub will stop playing for a few seconds and then come back online but out of sync. I have my arc connected to my router via ethernet. I have my WiFi router and SonosNet on different Wi-Fi channels. The arc is maybe 10 feet away from the sub. I’ve never had an issue with my ones either that are 20 feet away. It’s just the sub that seems to be the issue. I submitted a diagnostic report: 475378171.

Hi,About a week ago my beam and two One SL speakers started to randomly mute on and off while watching TV. Now even when the TV is off I will hear beeping from the beam (it sounds like someone taping on an app key board). We will watch tv for an hour or so with no issue but the muting and beeping will start again.  Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I can't get my LP player connected to my Sonos port to play on the Sonos soundbar

Hey y’all, I wanted to see if others maybe had this issue and had some fixes. My ARC (setup with 2 subs and 2 play 1s as surround speakers), occasionally has kind of an echo/phasing effect.I notice it most often when watching Last Week Tonight (which is in Dolby 2.0), where partway through most episodes, it will start to sound like Jon is a football stadium announcer with the audio instead of being from the front speakers, starts to also have a slight echo in the surround speakers.Recently, however, it has done it on music playback from my computer library (I have the surrounds setup on Ambient), where the echo effect happens again. With HBO (native app to my Vizio TV), I can just stop the show and restart it. With the music, that didn’t work, so I restarted the speakers. But I can’t figure out what might happening, or if there’s likely a specific hardware issue that might be causing the issue.Any thoughts you all have would be appreciated. Thanks!

EquipmentSonos Arc + Play One SL x2 + Sub (Gen 3), Apple TV 4K, HD Fury Arcana, LG-OLED65B16LAProblemI’ve had lots of issues regarding lip sync with the Apple TV, Arc and LG TV but they seem to be sorted with the purchase of the HDFury Arcana. Sometimes the x2 Play One SL’s become out of sync with the Arc.The sound coming from the Arc matches the TV and there is no lip sync issue but there is around a second delay between the Arc and the Play One SL’s. The clearest example is when you press left/right on the Apple TV remote that plays a feedback sound and then 1 second later, the rear Play One SL’s then play the sound.Turning the Play One SL’s off at the power for 20 seconds and then rebooting them solves the problem. I’m currently having to do this around once a week. Can anyone help please?

I have just purchased an Arc and Sub Gen3, paired with a couple of Play:1’s that I had lying around that weren’t being used.I cannot for the life of me get it working to get a decent sound out of it.The biggest issue is that I cannot turn on Dolby Digital Plus on my Sky box because the lip sync is out and no amount of adjustment on the TV, Sky Box or Sonos app makes any difference, when I leave it on Stereo PCM it sounds poor. I previously had an Onkyo Dolby Atmos amp and when that was outputting Sterio PCM it sounded significantly better than this. It was working perfectly but fancied a change, a change I am now seriously regretting.I work in IT so I consider myself to be reasonable competent with such things and I have literally tried everything. My TV is a 2019 model Philips Ambilight 55” 4K with arc output. The Sonos is connected to this HDMI port and the sky box is connected to another HDMI port. I have tried every HDMI cable I have in the house including the one that came with the

Hi allive got an older Epson Powerlite projector. Only audio out is analog rca. I’ve got a Roku 4K stick going into a 1x2 hdmi splitter then the split goes direct hdmi to the projector and I’ve got hdmi over cat5 extender to the beam.  Im unable to get through setup as the beam isn’t getting an arc connection. I’ve got now digital out on the projector so that’s not an option.  in theory l, shouldn’t this setup work? Maybe need to upgrade my extender?

...because the Arc combined with a sub and surrounds is currently an expensive paper weight. https://en.community.sonos.com/home%2Dtheater%2D228993/lost%2Dsurround%2Dand%2Dsub%2Dafter%2Dupdate%2D6868561

Have a brand new sonos arc and recently it has been popping and crackling frequently when playing music loud as wel as the base sounding very hallow. Diagnostic is:1610518698please help I don’t want to return.

Hi , I currently have an Arc , Gen3 Sub and 2 One SL's but I wanted to ask if I used 2 Fives as surrounds and set the settings to Full would i benefit when listening to Music as well tv ? Or would I need to set them to a sterio pair ? The other thing I wanted ask is can you use the Arc as a center speaker and fives as left and right channels and how good would it be , thanks for any advice.
