I have been using a Beam 2 by connecting my PC and PS5 through a HDMI Switch that also had optical out. I used the optical out with the Sonos converter to HDMI and al worked well.

I have just upgraded my monitor to have HDMI 2.1 so I can run my PS5 @ 120Hz. Connecting everything up the same way I am not getting any sound. I am assuming that is because of I have introduced HDMI 2.1 or at least that is the only difference from my original set up.

I have searched high and low for a HDMI 2.1 switch with either eARC or optical out thinking that will solve the problem but i cant find anything.

Has anyone else had the same problem and if so have you managed to resolve it.

See if this device may work for you - it is a switch with HDMI ARC/eARC pass-through, so you would connect the BEAM and Monitor using ARC rather than optical…

I would perhaps check with their support desk before purchase, just in case. I’m just not sure if it supports 120Hz

Thank you for replying

Unfortunately it does only support 60Hz

I am thinking I will have to stick with 60Hz or convert the headphone out on the monitor to digital but I will lose surround capability.

I came across this YT video too using the HDFury Arcana, see video ..

I think HDFury now have a switch called the ‘Vrroom’, but it’s quite expensive, but their products are worth exploring.

Thanks Ken, I have had a reply from Feintech who have told me they are working on a unit that will give 4K @120Hz and split the audio so I will keep an eye on their website.
I have also contacted HDFury and I am waiting on response from them

thank you very much for your suggestions

If you do find a device - please post back here, as it’s certainly useful for others to know a solution to this too. (Thanks @ifrench66).👍
