What is status of Sonos addressing the tinny sound with the arc?  Can they provide research status and approximate dates for a software fix? 

Hi, I’ve seen some Arc posts here but i’m not entirely sure I have the same issue. I’ve tried two dozen handle fulls of HDMI cables. Just about every setting I can change on my TV and still have this issue.  I’ll be watching TV (direct TV) or playing PS4 and my picture and audio will both cut out. It can go an entire day and not have an issue or it can go just a few minutes. The cut out varies between 15 seconds to a minute. The frequency can go from every minute to every 30 minutes. I can’t change my HDMI input as my Vizio just tells me to plug the audio output back to the HDMI-ARC input  Suggestions!?!?!?!?! This is driving me nuts when I waited along time and spend alot of money on this. LOVE the sound it puts out but I need HELP

Hi,I’m trying to figure out how to get the most out of my Beam + 2 Play:1s surround system for TV and streaming services.My Sonos system above is complemented with an Xbox One, Chromecast (2nd generation), a Winegard FL5500A FlatWave Amped antenna, and an older LG LS4500 TV. The Beam is connected via the digital audio output.I’ve been noticing that I only get PCM Stereo 2.0 no matter the game or app I’m using through the Xbox or Chromecast, but I get Dolby Digital 5.1 from the antenna. I’m assuming Dolby Digital 5.1 is desirable over PCM Stereo 2.0 (although I am hearing sounds in the rear speakers even when the app shows that it’s receiving a stereo feed).My question is this. Is the stereo signal a limitation in my TV’s older HDMI inputs? Do I need to upgrade my TV or my input devices (maybe to a new Google Chromecast with Android TV) to get more a more consistent and reliable surround signal passed on to my Beam? Or is this the best that the Beam + 2 Play:1s can do?Thanks!

I’ve got a Philips 55PUS6703/12 tv and I’ve just taken receipt of a Sonos Beam.  On my Philips TV I set the sound output to ‘Multichannel’ which resulted in my sound output on my aerial channels being Dolby 2.0, which was all good.  But upon using Netflix (TV app), Amazon (TV app) or Disney (cast from iphone) I am getting no sound whatsoever.  On Netflix the sound is showing as Dolby 5.1 (English), I have to change it ‘Dolby 5.1’ and it then works. Output showing on the Sonos App is ‘Dolby 5.1’. This is a bit of a pain if I have to do this every time.  On Prime I have no ability to change the sound. So in order to get sound I have to change the TV sound setting from ‘Multi channel’ to ‘Stereo’.  This is a complete pain and I’m wondering if the Beam is even compatible with my TV. I don’t want to have to change sound settings depending on what I’m watching.  At the moment I’ve set the TV sound option to ‘Stereo’ so everything is working. But I’m now missing out on Dolby 2.0/5.1.  Any hel

Hello,I've a problem with my Sonos beam. Every morning when I turn on my Tv the audio stop and skip on the Sonos Beam. When I want to check the Smartphone app the Sonos beam is unreachable. The only solution is to unplug the power and the Sonos work again perfectly for the day. I've already try the factory reset with no success. Please find my diagnostic ID : 1944524877 Thanks.

I have TV Samsung LE32R81W without HDMI ARC, Optical and Sonos Beam.I connect TV RCA cables + adapter: RCA In Optical Out + Sonos Optical Audio Adapter + HDMI to Sonos Beam.Application connect to TV but sound doesnt work.Diagnostic code: 777194228 What should I do?  

Hi All,I recently purchased a sonos beam shadow edition  from ebay in brand new condition. I set it up the other day and the sound quality was very underwhelming. Then with hope, I added a sub gen 3 to the setup and something weird happened. I saw that although the sub was added there was no output. Then I played with the sub on/off toggle switch and there was weak output from the sub with the toggle switch off and no output from sub when the toggle switch is on position. I can easily compare the sub output and normal on/off position with a sonos arc I currently  have.Does anybody have any idea/recommendation or a similar incident. I would appreciate any helpThanks and Regards  

Hey folks, looking for some advice.  After a bit of messing around I finally managed to get my app (through Android not IOS) to recognize that I was receiving an Atmos signal from my 4k player and the Netflix app. However my current issue is that when I test it the speech from the ARC is very muffled, that’s testing it on Ready Player One 4K disc and both Lost in Space and Bright via Netflix.  The confusing thing is that the speech eventually fixes itself but it takes a fairly long time to adjust.  I’ve tried adjusting various settings but nothing seems to be working.  Everything was bought just before or just after Christmas and this is the first chance I’ve had to put everything together.  HDMI cables are all fine but wondering if I should try the one that was supplied with the ARC or not. Someone criticized the placement of my ARC as it is only about 3 or 4 inches of the ground below the TV, this was necessary as the damn TV is so big it takes up the majority of the surface. Any adv

I know this has been asked before but all of the threads seem rather old.  I have an opportunity to buy two play:3’s from a friend.  Will these still work with the S2 app and be able to connect with the Beam as surround speaker?  Appreciate the response. 

Hi all, First post here, so please go easy on me! Have had a Beam and Sub setup for around 7 months now and it’s been fantastic. Turned on the TV this morning and the Beam is working but the Sub is not. Checked the app and the Sub is showing in the app and I have a white light on the front. I have tried disconnecting power and reconnecting and this hasn’t helped. Diagnostic report number 1546425422. Any help would be much appreciated!

Long time Sonos customer with many speakers.  Added an Arc recently but there is no output from speakers (sub, surrounds) in the same room with the Arc - neither (full) music nor surround (dolby digital).  The same speakers work fine in another room, including with a Playbar instead of the Arc or when added to a different room and grouped. Diagnostic:  1191244377

Updated software (13.0) on Beam and sound not working connected to Samsung TV via ARC. EasyLink on TV is still switched on. The Sonos App writes that Easy Link is not switched on.

I just bought a Sonos Arc soundbar. I connected seamlessly to the network. When I connect it to the TV, the TV says “Sound System Active and switches to that output, but no sound comes out of the soundbar. The TV is approximately from 2011, it has an HDMI Arc Port, it does have Sonos Arc listed among HDMI devices.It has the latest firmware form 2014, Sonos has the latest update too. I tried the disconnect/reconnect steps, set the audio format to PCM. I normally use an android TV box, but just to make sure that wasn’t the culprit, I disconnected it and plugged the antenna cable straight into the TV, still no luck.The connection within the Sonos app to the TV fails, which is probably the reason for the issue but I don’t know how to fix that...Any thoughts on what else I can try?Thanks,Gaetano.

I have an LG Nano Cell 90 with HDMI Arc out to a Sonos Arc and have a Sonos sub, when I shut the tv off after about a second or 2 the Arc will pop. I can't seem to correct the issue, any advice and tips are appreciated. It is SUPER ANNOYING!

I connect my Arc and Sub Gen 3 together in the Living Room setup.Each time upon powering on and playing music,Tv etc. The sound from the Sub is not there.I need to remove Sub from Living Room and re-connect the Sub back to the Living Room and only then will the sound from the Sub be heard(Bass).Been 3 months and still same issue everytime i switch on my Sonos setup.Wifi connectivity is Ok.All is fine except this Sub issue.

First excuse me my bad english.I own a nearly new Sunseeker 76 (2019) yacht with full equiped sonos soundsystem.In the saloon area and master bedroom i have the sonos surround with bar and sonos Sub.Since S2 i can t adjust the sound of the Sub. On the app it shows “?”Exept In the master bed room i still have all adjustments like before.(S1)3 other areas with 3rd party subs and amplifiers, sublevel adjustment disappeared since S2.All Subs are slightly playing with thge speakers.Can you help me to solve the problem? 

My Arc is connected to my TV (Sony XBR65X950H) while my Beam is not. The TV and Arc was purchased in January, while the Beam dates back to about 2 years. About 3 weeks ago, I could no longer group  Arc and Beam to play music or sounds from TV on Beam. When I group them to play music, it works for maybe 15 to 30 minutes and then the speakers stop playing. When this happens, Sonos  App still indicates music is playing, yet no sound. If I select “stop” on Sonos App, I received a message that the App can’t be found. Also, when I group Arc and Beam together for TV sound, the sound on the Beam goes in and out.  If I play music as a stand alone (without grouping them), both seems to work fine independently and TV sound using Arc as speakers has no issue. The problem occurs in grouping them. I also have Sonos One - when I group all of them, sound stop on Arc and Beam with music (No sound on Beam for TV). There is no Wifi issue when this happens.  I reset the Arc and the Beam numerous times and

HiI’ve had a BEAM for about 10 months and it has been working just fine, as both TV Soundbar and music speaker.Yesterday I noticed when I turned the TV on that the sound was coming from the TV, not the Beam.  I looked at the Sonos iOS App and it confirmed the Beam wasn’t playing the TV sound.So I went into setup and selected ‘TV Setup’, confirmed ‘Continue’ and the app reported “X HDMI” and “√ HDMI ARC”. This boded well. I clicked “Connected to ARC”. The app responded with Connecting but then came back with “A device is interfering with the HDMI Connection. Disconnect any other home theatre products, then try again.”  I have no other Home Theatre products to disconnect.I have discocnected the Beam from the TV, switched both off for about 15 minutes then powered both back up and reconnected the HMDMI ARC cable. Same result: the TV sound does not come from there Beam if I select it as an output.If, however, I disconnect the other HDMIs (Virgin Box & DVD) the Beam works. Hi All,This is a common issue I’m aware, but I haven’t received any useable solutions from Sonos support or Samsung nor seen any smoking gun solutions online.Sonos ARC with Gen3 Sub and Sonos AMP powering rear in-ceilingsSamsung UA40KU6000Xbox One XAs the title explains, there is an audio delay experienced on the ARC, typically when outputting dolby digital via bitstream to the TV and back to the ARC via hdmi arc. The Xbox has a handy feature in that it wirelessly outputs audio to your controller’s 3.5mm output jack, whilst also outputting normal audio - the audio from the controller is instant or near instant so it’s a great tool to hear for any discrepancies. Testing is as follows with HDMI ARC:Xbox set to PCM stereo. TV set to PCM stereo - Instant or near instant (felt I could hear a slight delay but very hard to tell and impossible to tell without the headphone monitors)Xbox set to Bitstream, Dolby Digital. HiI have the Sonos Amp, a Beam and a couple of Sonos Ones. I want to connect them in a way to get the best sound output from my TV, Music( Streamed on Wifi through the Spotify app) and my turntable. What will be best way to connect them so achieve this. As if now, the Amp is connected to the TV through the HDMI ARC, the Ones are connected as surrounds with the Beam and while watching TV or listening to music, I am grouping both the Amp and the Beam group to get sound. Not sure if this is the ideal way to about it. Thanks

Arc not connecting to wifi or ethernet. Signed in multiple times and system will still not update. This is right out of the box after weeks of waiting for delivery so very disappointing. I have reset, unplugged, and turned off my breakers but still the same error 1101 after several resets of arc, modem and router. Might have a lemon but if anyone has suggestions please feel free to share. 

I have an LGb9 and Sonos Arc sound bar, for about 4 months there was no issue, the b9 and Arc sound bar functioned fine connected via eArc hdmi port (2). Then suddenly audio stopped working through the sound bar, suddenly 2 days later it worked again with no explanation and unable to replicate the results.After that it was fine for about 2 months and this morning I turned on my TV and again no audio coming out of the Sonos Arc, but alexa and all other functionality is fine. I've factory reset both the TV and the Sonos Arc, re-set up and when I attempt to connect the arc to the TV via the app I get the following message(pictured below) . I've tried multiple hdmi cables to no avail. It feels like the same issue I suddenly encountered the first time, but I've no idea if it'll 'randomly start working in 2 days' again like it did before. £1100 TV and £700, feels like it's wasting my time and wallet at the moment.  Any solutions?  Sean  

Just added a Sonos Sub to two paired Ones and a Beam. I also successfully ran Trueplay. The sub is virtually non-audible except when set at the highest level. Even at that level, the base is unimpressive. I tried removing the sub and re-adding it to no discernible effect. Any ideas?

I have a new LG CX tv and the Sonos Arc arrived today. I have connected it with the HDMI cable to the eARC HDMI on the tv and chnaged the audio setting to eARC. However I am getting no sound from the ARC speaker. The Sonos App simply tells me that ARC Mode is not connected. What do I do next?

Hello everyone, I am setting up a home theatre and looking for advice. I have a gen 3 sub and gen 2 ones, but looking to put a playbar attached to the tv. I’d like to use the system as a home theatre but I also want to stream airplay from my phone. Will the play playbar work for this as the other components are airplay compatible? My tv isn’t a smart tv so I can’t stream to it.  I read about separating into groups, but would like it to work for both tv as well as streaming without loosing sound/speakers
