Home Theater

Hi - I’m trying to maximize the Sonos home theater experience (to the extent that is possible).   One bummer…..wife will not let me install an Arc Soundbar under the TV.   So I’m purchasing two invisible Sonance speakers that will hide in the drywall on either side of the TV.   After reading many posts on here….this is my plan: Buy 3 sonos ampsFirst Amp will power the two sonance speakers mentioned above to create a phantom center.   Since I can’t get an Arc, my hope is that these two speakers will be an adequate substitute for center channel dialogue.Second Amp will power two additional FRONT speakers on the far left and far right of our living room for to expereince the true left and right channelsThird Amp will power two additional speakers on the rear left and rear right of our living room for rear surround sound. Finally I’m adding an Sonos Sub to the set up. Will this work to allow me to experience a 5.1 home theater set up?   Or will the first two amps and speakers mentioned abov

Hi, I have a Sonos Arc since almost a year, and somehow I’m not content with the sound it adds to my LG OLED TV. Already had a nice call with Sonos Service, and according to the very engaged hotline agent, signal formats, connections, update status and settings were just fine. And I tried Trueplay mit various iOS devices and in multiple runs. The sound is rather “thin”, I’m not really feeling that the sound is much better than the built-in speakers of the slim LG TV. Might I be having a faulty unit that I should send in for service repair? Or is this mediocre sound quality “expected behavior” of the Arc? My questions:Room acoustics: The sound is reflected from the Arc on the one side by a wall, whereas in the other direction there is some open space (see images). Plus, I’m sitting quite close to the back wall. Any chance to get better results with the Arc in this arrangement by changing things in the room, or should I rather switch to some other home theater audio system?  Upgrade to

HiI have a Sony Bravia TV and a Playbar and sub-mini. I moved two speakers from one room to the TV room as I wanted surround sound.  At that moment I lost audio control  of my TV remote.  What did I mess up?    I tried resetting my Playbar.   Succeeded.  I tried resetting the remote ( the sonos app only asked that I press the + button for setup?).  Both attempts appear to work according to the Sonos app, but not Remote audio control.Without using the TV, I get full surround sound.  I thought it might be an IR conflict with my Cable TV box, but it worked before. Help.

Hello all. Just got my Sonos Arc system. Connected to Epson TW-7100 4k Projector. Using the Feintech VMS14201 HDMI 2.1 Matrix Switch to connect Apple TV 4k and Fire TV 4k. But getting no sound with the HDMI-optical connector. Feintech def supports my projector model. Any help on solving this would much appreciated. Connected the system as in the diagram (attached). I would hate to have to return the system.

I just purchased the 935 directly from OREI using the current 10% discount ($116.10/no sales tax) to use with my Beam Gen 2, Sub Mini, and One SLs with a 2016 Samsung W/Arc.  Anyone else have the 935; if so, how’s it working?  The only difference I can see from the 931 is that you can connect 3 external devices.  I considered the HD Fury Arcana, but at $299 it was a little pricey, since I spent a wad on the Beam and Sub a month ago.  I’m hoping, “You get what you pay for.” doesn’t apply with the 935.

Hello all,  I got a brand new home theater set up including 1* Beam (Gen 2) with 2*One SL for surround which I’m using with a Smart LCD TV PANASONIC (TX-55A650E) plugged in through HDMI ARC.  Overall the sound is pretty good, but I finally noticed that all the sounds emitted by an external source such as Playstation, Internet TV Box (which are set up either in Passthrough mode or Dolby) are actually giving standard Stereo PCM sound.  The only way I found to get a Dolby or DTS signal is using the TV apps or watching movies through the USB port. Once I’m using an external source, it seems there is no way to get a dolby sounds…   Has anyone ever had this problem and if so, how did they solve it ?  Thanks for your help. Julien

Sonos Arc drops audio frequently when playing media from Android TV where audio source is stereo. No issues with netflix app when source is dolby atmos. TV is new Philips OLED807 2022 model, with latest firmware. Connected via eArc port. Already tried disconnecting power to tv for few minutes.Tried both Sonos supplied HDMI cable and brand new expensive HDMI 2.1 cable. anyone with the magic solution? Diagnosis number 1890521882

As title a - I have the above Sonos speakers in a surround sound setup. Would swapping my Beam Gen1 with a Beam Gen2 make a noticeable improvement?I’m using an LG C8 OLED, with Apple TV 4K connected via Arc as my primary source.  Thanks.

I’ve just bought Beam gen2 so I can stream in the highest audio quality. However, the Plex app on my 2019 Shield seems to be struggling a little. The Dolby Vision logo keeps appearing every so often as if the video has just started although the stream is fine and lag free. This never happened when playing the 5.1 audio stream. Can anyone in a similar position recommend a solution? I’m using an LG B1

So I’m doing the setup for surround speakers but I just don't understand what the app wants here.It asks me to get Infront of my TV and select the speaker I can hear. But where am I facing? Towards TV or rear speakers?Im selecting as you would face to the tv but it feels the speaker levels are off after TruePlay. So what is meant here? Facing towards TV or towards Speakers? Sorry but this is just confusing and unclear since it changes the whole setup.Maybe I'm overthinking here..

This is an old topic but all the answers that I find do not work for me.The only way that I can have synced sound and picture is by using the ‘normal’ setting in Sky q, the Dolby settings will immediately lose sync. I have checked my TV settings and there is no pass through switch but bitstream, I am told, will give me Dolby. No, it doesn’t.I connect my Sonos direct to the arc plug on my set. I have no idea what to try next.I need a genius out there to solve it for me!

Hi all,I have a SONOS surround system for my living room that works great and recently purchased a surround sound system for the basement (Beam Gen 2, two One SL’s and Sub Mini), but I’m not able to get Dolby Atmos working via my PS5 on my LG OLED55B6P.I know there’s some tricks to get Dolby Atmos working on the PS5 and I’ve followed those settings. This are the setting I’m using on the TV while having HDMI connected to the HDMI 2/Arc port to my Sonos Beam.Sound Out → Audio Out (Optical/HDMI Arc)All Settings → Sound → Sound Out → Audio Out (checked)In a sub bullet of the Audio Out I have Digital Sound Out set to Auto and SIMPLINK set to On.Any help is appreciated.  Thanks.

My golf simulator projector, an Epson 1080, has only a single prong audio out.  If the projector RCA out is converted to HDMI, will that converted output work in an ARC soundbar?  Is there another workaround to get audio to the soundbar?

Are Gen3 products compatible with Beam Gen 1? I have a Beam Gen 1 and I am looking at Sub Wireless Subwoofer (Gen 3) and some speakers. Not sure which ones yet.

I have in ceiling wiring in Kitchen (marked in Yellow) . Red is the TV. Green dots are the in wall wiring ( I do not have to us if not needed)All the wiring is dropped in my media room upstairs. For TV, I have 2 ethernet cables. One for internet and another goes to the media room. I think it is to have a HDMI over Cat6 (or so I think)Can I get a Sonos Arc for the TV. And a Sonos Amp for the in ceiling speakers in the kitchen and play the same sound from the TV in the kitchen (Not as surround rear but as 2 stereo speakers)? The idea is to watch TV and dont have to raise the volume too high to be able to hear in the kitchen. Would there be any lag? How can I connect the AMP to the TV? Will the AMP connect to Sonos Arc? What is the good set up for what I am trying to accomplish?

Hi ! I do have Sonos PlayBar under my tely , and i woul like to buy Sonos ARC , the point is that my Play bar mounted to my wall with Sonos wall mount ! And there is a holes already ! Any crossovers exist to Arc bar ?

Hello,Can you tell me if in this configuration I will be able to have sound in Dolby Atmos formatSamsung Qe55q7f (2018) ( 1 hdmi arc)Sonos Beam Gen 2Netfilx Premium UltraHDAccording to research I see a lot of problems and I'm a little lost. Thanks in advance for the help and answers.Thierry

We pay EXTRA to mount the ARC on the wall and it looks ridiculous when seated. More importantly, not knowing I’d see them, I measured its height from the table to insure the Arc would be centered between the TV and fireplace and because the feet add height, it was NOT centered! Being a type A person, I removed, filled all the holes and had re-drill and remount. This isn’t right.

Hi everyone.  I have a sono beam 2 hooked up to my LG C1.  For 5.1 sound from netflix and my cable box, the sonos app would use to say the sound coming in is Dolby Digital Plus 5.1.  Now when I go to my sonos app, it says Dolby Multichannel PCM 5.1.I notice Dolby Atmos now it says Dolby Atmos while it use to say Dolby Atmos (DD+).Dolby Output from the TV is set to AutoIf I change to Passthrough, then it changes back to Dolby Digital but I never had to do that before.I was wondering what happened or what has changed?  I don't think I changed any sound settings recently.  I did update to the new firmware, but not sure if that caused this issue.I guess I am wondering how do I change it back to Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 without putting it to passthrough? Also, which is better?  Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 or Dolby Multichannel PCM 5.1?  Which Atmos is better? Thanks

Hi folks,Anyone know why I lose all sound from arc/sub/play ones when I unpause the tv? It returns if I turn the tv off and on. My tv is Sony a9 and using virgin box. The sound is awesome so I must have it all wired correctly!!Thanks!

Buongiorno, ho una domanda da porvi. Possiedo un arc un sub e 2 play 1, se comperassi altri due play 1 come canali anteriori è possibile creare home teather 5.1? Grazie

Hi,I am quite keen to buy the new SONOS arc sound bar. But I am not sure if it is suitable to my room. I am afraid it may be an overkill. My room size is 14 feet by 16 feet (224 sq feet or 20 sq mtr). I have a 77 inch Sonly OLED TV and wish to use the arc with it in the room. Cananyone please advice if I can go ahead and get it or if it is not advisable for such a small room size. I need the best possible sound quality and ready to spend the money, I mean budget is not a constraint. Your help will be greatly appretiated. Thank you very much.

I purchased a Sony KD85X91J in July equipped with eARC so I could listen to content from my Apple TV 4K in Dolby Atmos. The problem I have is whenever I play Atmos content (and ONLY Atmos content). Every so often the Arc has a quick popping sound followed by the Arc losing audio until I back out of the Atmos content I was watching. When I back out I can start the content again in Atmos and it will work for a while until the pop and audio cut out happens again. I have a 5.1 setup with the Arc, 2 One SL’s and a Gen 3 sub. The bass and surrounds still play audio after the cut out. Only the Arc is affected. The HDMI cables i am using are both rated to handle Atmos content. Link to the cables being used is below. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07S1CGQ9Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Is there a fix for this issue? It’s very frustrating investing into a system that cannot deliver what it advertises and I’m hoping theres something I’m missing that will easily solve th

I have a tivo edge and trying to setup the remote to control the volume of the Arc.  The Tivo remote works just fine with my TV - turns on and off and selects the input without issues.  The remote uses IR.  To program the remote to control the arc, the Tivo instructions are to select a A/V device from the Tivo remote setup menu and try the different codes to see what works with the Arc. There is not an option to select any Sonos codes, so you apparently must use a code from another brand,  My research says thet the Denon codes work with the Arc - but not mine!  I have tried all the Denon codes and none of them work. My remote is in IR mode and has new batteries.  How do I set up my TIVO remote to control the volume of the arc.

Hey there,I have two Sonos S1 gen2 and want to know if the little Ray tv soundbar is compatible with my 2 speakers? If u you oh can help me Thankyou.😎
