Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Hello All!I’m looking to connect a Beam 2 to my existing Era 100’s pair & Sub Mini. Is it possible to still use the Bluetooth on the Era’s for my main connection while still getting sound out to the Beam 2? I’ve heard I can have the Beam in its own group and then share the audio to it via connecting the groups together (would there be any sound delay with this??). Or would it be better to connect the Era’s / Sub mini to the Beam 2 and then use the HDMI to Optical to connect things to my pc? I’ve heard that there can be delays in the sound vs video if doing this…? Just looking for any tips / tricks to make everything connect together without delay as I’ll be mostly playing games and watching movies etc with the speakers (yes some music but mainly in the background). Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I’m loving the Era’s and Sub Mini so far!

I recently gave my Era 100’s to my son, how ever, they still appear in the app as Era 100 LR and Era 100 LR2, how do I remove the speaker from being seen in the App as every time I turn the system on it tells me they’re not connected.Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks

At my previous home I had all Sonos Connects and spent years building a large playlist.  We bought a new house, but set it up with all new Sonos Amps, etc.  I brought a few of the Sonos Connects from the old home, but I’m scared to hook it up to my new system because I fear it will reinitialize and erase everything on the Connect.  What’s the best way to get my playlist off of the old Connect and onto my new system?

Dear Sonos, may I suggest you relaunch the s2 app immediately to allow us users to enjoy the Sonos systems we have all invested in. Currently the updated Sonos app is so bad & non user friendly it should have never been launched to market 🤷‍♂️

My one saving grace in all this was that at least I could still index from the desktop app (as the subject).Now I’m getting the error message that says the path has changed or the device is no longer powered up, neither of which is true. I realize this is not uncommon in the last few months, but I’m not as savvy as I would like to be. Everything is updated, heaven help me. File sharing, and so forth is still on. No permissions have suddenly changed.I’m reluctant to do anything too big before consulting people who know more than I do. Right now, not being able to index. My most recently added files isn’t the worst thing that could be happening, as we know from the last three months. I don’t wanna reduce the functionality I have by acting rashly. But my collection is on going so I would like it to be updated as often possible. I would appreciate any suggestions for how I might get myself back on track here. Thanks in advance. 

When, if ever will Ace be an integrated speaker (I know it’s a headphone) in the way all others are in the home? Sort being able to use without so much toggle and controlling and play music or TV out of it by simply designating it?

First off this has been a running issue since app update. Every week randomly I cannot start music on either of my Moves, just hangs and errors out. I can start music on any non Move speaker, then add the Move, BUT I cannot control the volume once added on the Move, only by physical touch buttons I can adjust. I have rebooted and restarted and it still has the same problem. Any help is appreciated! I’ve invested in sonos for its sound and portability, wife is done, ready to ditch the system! 

I was so impressed with my first Sonos Beam (2nd Gen) I recently took advantage of the 20% off and plashed out on another Sonos Beam (2nd Gen) plus 2x Era 100’s as a home theatre set.  However, I keep getting sound drops on TV/Xbox Series X but not on Spotify.  I have a Samsung UE65AU7100KXXU, fully updated on eARCSonos Beam (2nd Gen) Is hardwired to my router via Cat5e Ethernet cable Era100’s are on WiFi in the same room as my router  All speakers are updated and when I untethered the Era100 form the Beam i get normal sound (no drop). But when I reteather the Era’s the sound drops again.  The only fix I have is to turn off eARC and change to PCM. However, my other Sonos Beam (2nd Gen) works fine on eARCAlso followed the troubleshooting instructions on Sonos main site.Any thoughts on what I’m doing wrong or where the problem lies?

Hi everyone,I’ve been experiencing a frustrating issue with my Sonos system and wanted to see if anyone else has encountered the same problem. Whenever the alarm goes off in the morning, I’m unable to turn it off using the app or the physical buttons on the speaker. The only way I can stop the alarm is by switching the speaker off and on at the main socket.This is my first post here, so I’m hoping the community can help me out. Has anyone else faced this issue? If so, have you found a solution or workaround? Any help would be greatly appreciated!Thanks!

With the latest app update it seems like I can’t load playlist longer than 100 songs from AMZN playlists.  I tried with the desktop app and it worked fine.  Tried same playlist via the iphone app and it loads only 100 songs.  I know this was an issue about a year ago, but it seemed to be working fine until recently and I’m guessing it is the new app update.

I am currently designing two spaces -- outdoor pool and patio + my primary ensuite.  Patio:I’m planning to use an sonos AMP with 4 Polk Atrium 5 Outdoor Speakers. I’d like to have an outdoor volume control. Is this possible? Is so, thoughts on how to do this?  Primary Bathroom: We have a large L shaped bathroom. I’m planning to have one dual channel Polk RC6 in the large walk in shower and another single dual channel polk RC 6 above the vanity. I’d like to potentially connect these to a single AMP but have in-wall independent volume control for each speaker--allowing me to listen to music/morning news in the shower and not wake my partner in bed. :) Thoughts on how to best accomplish this without buying an AMP for each single speaker?  Thanks!

New router and have updated and connected all other speakers. Cannot connect the Play 3 now tho. When the App says it is discovering the Play 3 and is going to play the ID chime, nothing is heard. Then when it goes to the alternative method of having me push the highlighted button, it doesn’t recognize a button push. My guess is that I need to hardwire it to the network via Ethernet cable but I’m concerned I’ll have to redo all the other speakers again…??? 

What changed in today’s release that seems to start causing this again? Just updated the Android app to today’s 22 Jul 2024 version (mine shows 80.05.06-release+20240717.cbccdb2) and the Recently Played and Sonos Favorites section again lose content after 10 seconds from starting the app and home screen being finished loading and just display grey placeholders.     I have TuneIn stations in the favorites. In the previous app release the same happened but when I added TuneIn (New) service those sections started working ok and no longer lost content. But now the same error situation happens again and that same isn’t helping. I’ve tried but not helping:rebooting router rebooting 4 x One + Port rebooting phone re-authorizing TuneIn uninstalling Sonos app and re-installing removing TuneIn and adding it back resetting the app How do I fix this without buying a new router?iPad app correctly displays and keeps the content.Edit: as I earlier mentioned in another thread, the Android log shows ag

I don’t want to pile on, as the negativity in many of the posts I’m seeing here doesn’t seem to be helping the situation.  I’m very disappointed that the new app seems to have broken everything that I use Sonos for and that my investment in your products is on the verge of obsolescence.I have nine Sonos/Symfonisk speakers around my house.  I have a very large music library (345 GB, ~60,000 tracks) which I host on a Plex instance running on a Synology NAS.  I don’t use streaming services at all.  Other members of my family do, but I’m interested in listening to the music in my own library.  I am a dinosaur.I saw the note that says that support for local libraries will be restored in mid-June.  It’s not clear to me whether that is the Sonos “Music Library” or if that applies to Plex.  The Sonos “Music Library” generally doesn’t work well for me, because my library is too big.  If Plex support isn’t going to be restored, then my Sonos speakers will become paperweights as far as I’m concer

I’m experiencing a new issue with Sonos Controller for Mac vs 16.3.1 (build 80155014) running on Mac OS Sonoma 14.6.1. I have a small home with one grouping: two stereo-paired Sonos Fives + Sub and five Sonos One SL speakers in various rooms. The five Sonos Ones intermittently cut out and go silent. The Sonos iPhone app says they’re continuing to play (the sound wave animation is showing next to the speaker’s name) but no sound is coming from the speaker. If I remove the speaker from the group and play a track that speaker, it works fine. If I add it back to the group repeatedly, it will continue to play—for a while. I’ve had this issue come up almost daily.I’ve rebooted my router and it doesn’t correct the issue. This never happened prior to the release of the current Sonos Controller for Mac vs 16.3.1. Also, when I quit the Sonos controller and play music via the Music app on my Mac, the speakers all work reliably with no cutting out, so the root cause appears to b the current Sonos

My Sonos Play1 does not complete its set up. After the s2 app finds the speaker, it asks me to connect to its local WiFi and then will try and play a passcode to complete set up. The passcode never plays/this step never works.  I have tried connecting the speaker to the router directly via an either cable. I have also tried without. I’ve tried connecting through the s2 app on the local WiFi and on the home WiFi with the either cable plugged in.I’ve turned off and off. Factory reset, etc but still no luck.  the speak did work on the s2 app perviously with all my other S2 gear. However, I recently reset the play1 to use at a friends house and haven’t been able to reconnect to my system since. does anyone have any suggestions? best regards Simon 

I got the message below when I noticed an “Update Now” icon in my Win 10 Controller V 16.2 Has anybody out there installed this? The fact that it warns that “during the update all audio playback will be stopped” makes me very suspicious that it will actually do a firmware update as that’s the message you get when you do that.Call me paranoid but that’s the last thing I want to do as I am still happily running V16.2 firmware.Any comments/advice?

With the new 80.06.04 update (8-06-24) Downgrade Product to S1 is functional again. I just did it! Had an S1 Connect:Amp fail (fast white flash LED) and it's the rear channels of an S1 Playbar and Sub. Had an S2 Connect:Amp at work, but during this software fiasco, couldn't downgrade it until today... System Settings --> (scroll to bottom) Help Center --> Downgrade Product to S1

After years when my Sonos system (two pairs on Sonos 1 speakers, one Sonos soundable and 1 Sonos roam) worked fine playing music from the Apple Music service using any combination of controllers on my Mac, iPhone and iPad,  things have recently (last week or so) gone very wrong.Sometimes Sonos will fail entirely to play things from Apple Music saying that the connection to Apple Music has been lost, Sometimes it will start, but then part way through a track it will skip onto the next track and Sometimes it states it can play the track because it is encoded wrongly.All of this whilst I can easily play the relevant track directly in Apple Music (without using the Sonos speakers) showing that my network happily connects to Apple Music.it is also worth noting that all of my devices are connected via the home wifi and do not utilise any bluetooth or wired connections.On the basis ofd other discussions I’ve tried unplugging/reconecting and rebooting my entire network and reinstalling the con

Under system settings the EQ control for a pair of SONOS ONE speakers doesn’t work. I can move the sliders but there is no effect on the sound. If I try adjust L/R balance nothing happens. Also if I set the volume limit to 90% when I leave system settings and then return it is back to ‘off’.Any clues anyone?The new app seems to be unfinished. Very poor UX and as a heavily invested SONOS user I’m really not impressed.
