Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Hi,I have a Sonos Ray and Samsung UE32F6000F, without optical port and have purchased the Sonos HDMI to Optical adapter.I have switched the “eArc” setting on in the menu and connected the HDMI port to the one labelled eArc on the back of the TV.I am unable to get the two to connect using the Sonos app and nor does the TV recognise a speaker has been connected.I have noticed the optical cable end does not glow red when connected to any device (the TV, a laptop etc). I have also tried 3 other HDMI cables.Any ideas/tips?Thanks

I recently bought a Ray to replace the dying iPod my husband had plugged into a Bose dock.  I was told he could stream music ripped from CDs that had been loaded onto his cell phone but apparently that’s only the case for an apple phone.  We are an android family.  I simply want to access the 28 GB music library we have loaded on our computer in the living room on our ray.  I don’t want to keep the computer on. I I don’t know that I necessarily want an NAS as I don’t want other files loaded.  Just our music.  I’ve read about the various NAS drives and am this close to buying a Synology 2-Bay DiskStation DS223j (Diskless) but I know somewhere in my research I read that an external drive plugged into our router (which does allow for the indexing needed) might be easier/less overkill for a music library of our size?  Can someone point me in the direction on making this decision?  

When I select Everywhere in the app to have all speakers connect.  The Arc does not connect while One and OneSL do  !??!

For years been looking up answers why my SL one left surround sound keeps disconnecting. Did all the troubling shooting, unplug, reset, move the speakers closer, get a WiFi boosters. I may figured out a partial solution. I haven’t added the Apple Music account and haven’t lost the speaker since. So reboot the system and don’t add the Apple Music. 

I received my Certified Refurbished Beam (Gen 2) on Friday, unpacked it, and from the first launch the speaker keeps disconnecting once in a while and the flashing white light appears. The speaker dissapears from the app, and the sound that was playing lags and stutters until it connects again. I have tried various troubleshooting steps, from configuring the router and separating 2.4GHz and 5GHz, to factory resetting the Beam, to trying to configure it on a different device. I've been on the support chats two times, today in a different country than mine since the chat for my country is not available today, and at the end of it after trying more fixes (including ethernet to router connection which also kept disconnecting once in a while), I've been referred to contact the phone line with the case number they gave me for further help, since they have more tools at their disposal than the chat. Roam won't charge and nothing happens after I hold the power button down for 20+ seconds.  But when plugged in, the red light is on. The battery is not chaging when plugged in. What do I do?

Hi I was recently conned buying what I thought was a new Sonos soundbar on marketplace .. it looked like the box was unopened however a month later I opened it to find it doesn’t work .. it won’t power up . I know without looking it’s hard to tell if it’s worth trying to fix .. I’ve already lost $350 so don’t want to get hit up for that again . Should I just accept defeat ? Is it worth anything to anyone ? 

I have been with sonos from the inception, I loved and recommend it to countless people. I have a huge setup with mixed generations. But I'm having the worst sonos experience for the last 5 months on my android phone (Samsung Galaxy ultra s25). Hoping the issues will be fixed but I'm losing hope. The basic s*** like I can't find devices in the app, it keep asking to register the new device, searching for devices every time I open the app... Driving me nuts, the whole concept of sonos to me is quality of music at the touch of a button. My TV sound (through a DAC converter) shows in my Sonos system as a source (Line-in), and when pressed it does show a signal (signal symbol fluctuates), but no sound comes. This has worked in the past but has stopped working some time ago. I have tried a lot (swap optical cable, power resets, adjust settings in app) but nothing works. When removed the Line-In source disappears so it is evident that it is correctly connected. Any tips??

Hi all. Recently my Move 2 takes about 90 secs for trueplay to kick in and it seems to be drastically altering the sound everytime it kicks in subsequently after this. I know it has active trueplay however the speaker is in the same location and will go significantly louder everytime it trueplays. Anyone else having this issue? It never used to do it and was perfect before.I have not done a factory reset as yet ThanksAdey

Hi, I have Gen 2, sub mini and 2 era 100s. all working perfectly. I have in principle from ‘she’ permission to have ceiling speakers but I’ve read that I cannot add ceiling speakers to my system. is this correct? 

We have had Sonos speakers for several years, but we keep losing connectivity and have to reset everything. We have a Google mesh system throughout the house, so WiFi is not the issue. We are ready to throw it all out, it’s a horrible experience. How do we fix this?

I have arc ultra and two new ERA 300s. Sound is amazing for music from Spotify, but extremely low volume with DirectV. Very frustrating.

Can two headphone users listen to the same TV at the same time?

Hello, Just bought a Sonos Arc and found out that one of the streaming services on my Android TV provides home theater sound in AAC 5.1. After fiddling with the setup and looking on the Internet, I found that Sonos does not support AAC 5.1, and it is downmixed to PCM 2.0. Some questions:1-  Are there any suggestions how to get AC3 to Sonos Arc? I’m now using an Android player capable of software transcoding AAC 5.1 to AC3, but it’s not an ideal solution. Maybe there are hardware transcoders capable of the task? Or a system-level utility for Android? Or maybe some TVs are capable of such transcoding? The only one that was suggested up to now is to use Nvidia Shield, which is told to be capable of transcoding everything to AC3. Surely something else can then do it as well?2- What is the reason for Sonos to not support this format? Is there a chance we would get support at a later stage? Thank you in advance!

My Playbar worked great yesterday. I've had it for 9 years. Today bam! No sound. Nothing happened. Everything else plugged into the same surge protector is fine. But when I contacted customer service and troubleshoot it. The only solution they can offer is buy something new. They did offer me 15% off the to upgrade.  I paid almost $800 for that it should last longer than that or the warranty should last a lot longer than 24 months.  Does anyone know somewhere that can repair it?

Just received the Sonos “Immersive Set with Beam” couldn’t wait to get it up and running. I’m in my 70s so please reply slowly…. Over the years I’ve had several systems that always allowed me to set a baseline volume level for each speaker in a surround sound configuration. I spent about 4 hours this afternoon on the Sonos App and no such luck.  I remember reading a blog about placing each ERA100 in its own room and going that route, with that, I was able to set the volume of each speaker but not able to save it when done.  Was hoping for the ability to save those settings that would stay proportional increased or decreased the grouping volume.  I though perhaps the “Zone” function would do that but didn’t have any luck.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi all,I’m helping my friends get their Sonos system setup.  They have an Arc Ultra and Sub 4 hooked up to their TV, two Era 100s in a separate room, and a Move.  Ideally, when they listen to music, they would like for it to play through all of the speakers, but when they watch TV, that would exclusively play through the Arc Ultra and Sub 4. Of course, they could manually add and remove speakers through the app depending on what they’re listening to, but that would be annoying to do that multiple times a day. It seems like there must be a way to set it so that the default for playback from the TV is through the Arc Ultra, and the default for listening to music is through all of the speakers, but I cannot figure out how to make that happen. thanks!Ben
