Question

Wrong artist & Couldn’t skip track message

I’m playing “top songs” from an artist I like, after searching for the artist on the system, through all my Sonos speakers. Firstly, it plays a few songs from across the artists catalogue then it plays random songs from different artists.

Secondly, when I go to skip the track I get a message saying it can’t skip and to try again. See picture of message.

Any suggestions? 👍🏼

What service were you using to play the artist you searched for.  I’m not familiar with “Top Artists”.  Where is that in the Sonos app?

My bad. I meant “Top Songs” When you search for an artist or gives several choices of albums or for example “Fleetwood Mac station”. See picture.

Do you have a Prime or an Amazon Music Unlimited subscription?

Yes I do. The thing is, it lets me skip a song or 2 then doesn’t.

Which one? Prime or Unlimited?

With Amazon Music Prime, I believe there is a restriction on the number of times you can skip in a given period.

Ah, that would explain it. Thanks Mr. T. 👍🏼

I pity the fool that attempts to skip a song too many times  😉

See the following for the differences between subscriptions.

It also accounts for the shuffling.

Once you load Top Songs, it is a Playlist- not a station, you should be able to see what is in your queue. It should be just Fleetwood Mac, 200 tracks.

Are you clearing your queue before adding them? Leaving old tracks in the queue will see them played.

I am on Unlimited so I can't test the skip issue,
